Chapter 65: Chapter 65- stay away from Lilian

If Linda had suggested introducing Lilian to the eldest son of the Mo family, Morrison, she would have refused on the spot.

Although Morrison had a good relationship with her son, Dave, and appeared to be a decent man, his reputation with women wasn’t great. He was well-known in the county as a notorious playboy.

Her daughter, Lilian, was so simple-minded that she wouldn’t be able to handle such a womanizer.

Besides, there seemed to be a considerable age gap. Lilian was 22 years old this year, while Morrison was the same age as Dave—ten years older.

But the youngest son of the Mo family, Karl, was different. Since he was quite familiar with Linda and often heard her talk about her two sons, she had some understanding of them. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Karl had a completely different personality from Morrison. He had been studying abroad for the past few years and was a serious, scholarly type. He had no complicated relationships with women, no troublesome social background, and his age was closer to her daughter’s—he seemed to be about 25.

She thought that being with such a young man would be the wisest choice for her daughter.

So, recalling what Linda had said that day, she couldn’t help but ask her daughter, "Lilian, I need to ask you a question, and you have to answer honestly."

Lilian went back to her room and changed into a comfortable outfit. As she tied her hair up, she asked,

"What’s the question?"

Her mother looked at her seriously and asked,

"Do you have a boy you like, or are you seeing someone?"

"Ha—"

Lilian burst out laughing as she walked over and gave her a hug.

"Mom, do you really think I look like I’m in a relationship?"

Then, playfully, she rubbed her messy bun against her mother, who couldn’t help but laugh.

"Yeah, you really don’t look like it!"

Lilian nodded vigorously.

"That’s more like it! Isn’t it said that women dress up for the one they like? Look at me, always looking so untidy. How could I possibly be in a relationship?"

"Besides, right now I’m being driven crazy by my thesis. I’m in no condition to be thinking about love. I’m barely even human at this point!"

Lilian flopped onto the sofa, then suddenly shot up, looking at her mother suspiciously and asking,

"Why are you asking me this?"

"Oh, nothing. Just curious."

She smiled. Tiffany didn’t want to tell her daughter about the arranged blind date just yet. These days, young people hated the idea of arranged marriages and how it was often used to meet potential boyfriends or girlfriends. She didn’t want her daughter to rebelliously refuse once she heard about it.

Besides, they still didn’t know when the youngest son of the Mo family would return to the country. They could deal with it later.

Meanwhile, while the lady and her aunt were talking, little Emma Washington had been quietly listening from the side.

Once their conversation ended, the little girl climbed onto the couch where Lilian was lying and curiously asked,

"Auntie, why don’t you have a boyfriend?"

Lilian, completely exasperated, replied,

"I wish I knew why!"

She, too, wanted to know why, at 22 years old, she still had no boyfriend, and why her romantic experience was absolutely zero.

The little girl, with her big dark eyes, thought for a moment before trying to comfort her.

"Auntie, don’t worry. Your prince will come soon, riding in his pumpkin carriage to marry you."

Lilian, "..."

What even was that?

She was only 22! Why would she be in a hurry? She wasn’t anxious! She was just frustrated about her lack of romantic experience and often got teased by the girls in her dorm for it.

Pulling the little girl into her arms, she closed her eyes dramatically and wailed,

"Tell me you cried, that fairy tales are all lies—"

The little girl instantly jumped off her, scared, and ran over to the lady.

In the restaurant.

Dave and Morrison walked side by side, but after just a few steps, Morrison couldn’t help but look back, glancing in the direction Lilian and the others had left. He rubbed his chin and sighed.

"Our little sister is becoming more and more beautiful."

Dave was quite irritated by the way Morrison referred to Lilian as "our little sister."

"Shut up! That’s my sister! What does it have to do with you?"

He then scoffed.

"Let me remind you, you only have a younger brother, not a sister!"

Morrison laughed nonchalantly.

"Of course I have a ’younger brother.’ Don’t you?"

Dave opened his mouth, ready to retort, but then realized what Morrison meant by "younger brother." He immediately closed his mouth and shot him an angry glare.

His business partner was unbelievable! He could act like a rogue even toward a grown man!

Gritting his teeth, Dave warned him,

"I’m telling you, stay away from Lilian!"

"Also, the money for their meal earlier, charge it to my account. You don’t need to pay for it!"

Dave knew very well that Morrison and Lilian were completely from different worlds, so he wanted to cut off any inappropriate thoughts Morrison might have about Lilian from the very beginning.

Morrison laughed exaggeratedly.

"You’re being way too overprotective! How could I have any interest in Lilian? How old is she? She’s like a little flower bud."

With that, he walked toward their private room with an easy, confident stride.

He really wasn’t interested in a girl like that. It had been years since he had encountered such a pure, innocent girl—like clear water. Now, his circle was full of glamorous and seductive women.

He just thought that the little girl had grown even more beautiful over the time they hadn’t seen each other. Was it wrong for him to compliment her?

Look at how scared Dave is, as if he’s some kind of monster.

After entering the private room, the two of them ordered dishes and some alcohol.

Dave had been spending all his time with his daughter recently and was exhausted, so he ordered some alcohol to unwind. Of course, Morrison was happy to join him.

"I say, hasn’t your first love come to confront you yet?"

Morrison was referring to the fact that Dave had publicly declared that his relationship with Clark was just a normal friendship.

Morrison didn’t know Clark very well since he and Dave hadn’t studied at the same school.

They had met after both of them were running their respective companies. When they met, Dave was already married to Laurent, so Morrison didn’t know much about Dave’s first love.
