One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 946 - 944: Leader of the Resistors (Part 2)
The unfamiliar face was clearly dissatisfied with Igor’s attitude.
"Yes, do you even know how much loss we’ve incurred because of you?" Not only the stranger complained about Igor, but others also started to express their grievances.
"I really didn’t expect this! If not for this guy, why would those Soul Devourers be so crazy!"
"Yeah, I really don’t know what’s special about this kid, why do we bother to bring him back?"
One word from him and another from you, gradually, the place became very noisy, but Igor became quiet at this moment. He might not know much, but at least he knew Nonoa became like this because of him, and there was guilt in his heart.
"Complaints, can they solve problems?" Tobin Sol suddenly spoke up, neither humble nor arrogant, but his voice was loud enough.
As soon as Tobin spoke, everyone shut their mouths. Even if they still harbored great resentment towards Igor, they no longer complained.
They were very respectful toward Tobin Sol, as he was the leader they had elected themselves.
Igor was somewhat puzzled; he couldn’t understand why these people had such grievances against him. He looked at Tobin Sol, hoping to find an answer.
Tobin Sol walked to Nonoa’s side; consciousness collapsing in the Border Realm equates to nearing death. Once Nonoa’s consciousness collapses to the point it cannot gather, the name will vanish from the realm entirely. Tobin Sol reached out to touch Nonoa to feel how much of Nonoa’s remaining consciousness still lingered.
"How is it, Leader?" The unfamiliar face asked eagerly.
"Too forceful, it needs time to gather, it’s not completely collapsed, but it was a desperate fight!"
After finishing, Tobin Sol glanced at Igor; he also didn’t understand why this young man caused such a great commotion upon arriving at the Border Realm.
"Why is everyone looking at me?" Igor was already feeling the strange gazes; he was a bit uncomfortable. Certainly, Nonoa’s consciousness collapsed because of him, but he hadn’t made any mistakes, he had done everything as Nonoa instructed.
"You might not understand what happened recently," Tobin Sol said, "or perhaps you are not very familiar with this Border Realm."
"Nonoa told me some information about you Resistors and the Soul Devourers, I’m aware of the general situation."
"That’s good, the reason we brought you to this hidden place is that we don’t understand the intense attack recently initiated by the Soul Devourers!"
"Recent attack?" Igor was a bit confused.
"Young man, you might not know the situation. When you and Nonoa were attacked by those Soul Devourers, Resistors across the Border Realm were subjected to large-scale attacks from Soul Devourers, and the attacks were intense. These Soul Devourers seemed not to care about the consequences at all," the axe-wielding elder said slowly, with a touch of astonishment in his tone, which Igor could discern.
Igor somewhat understood that there was a significant conflict between the Soul Devourers and Resistors, seemingly initiated by the Soul Devourers, and it even seemed planned.
"And all of this happened because of your arrival!"
"Me?" Igor was very astonished. He came here to find Tobin, but had already found Tobin himself, yet he had become entangled in a baffling dispute, which was beyond reasoning.
"We will analyze things slowly; time is also limited. I can feel the strange aura on you," Tobin Sol interrupted Igor’s surprise, "I forgot to mention, I’m Tobin..."
"I know who you are, no need for introductions. I came here to find you."
"Find me?"
"Yes, my purpose here is to awaken you, to let you meet with your brothers!" Igor spoke honestly, though he felt that stating it now seemed somewhat untimely because the Border Realm had obviously undergone significant changes, and as the leader of the Resistors, Tobin Sol wouldn’t easily leave.
"We’ll talk about this later, right now what’s important is figuring out why you attract the attention of the Soul Devourers, and I noticed they want to take you back intact." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Is there something special about this young man? I can’t see anything!" commented the burly man holding a knife.
"I don’t feel anything special either, but the leader says he has a peculiar aura," said the woman named Shana.
These people are the cadre within the Resistors, naturally powerful, compared to Nonoa, they are all experts who have reached that King Rank level mentioned by the Soul Devourers.
However, Igor did not recognize them.
"Alright, everyone stop discussing, I have my own judgment." Tobin Sol began to display a leader’s charisma, indicating clearly that he intended to communicate with Igor individually; whether these cadres were present or not did not matter, but they absolutely must not interrupt his exchange with Igor.
The leaders quickly understood his intentions, closed their mouths, and stood quietly aside.
"Since Nonoa has explained the situation here, you should now know what we are doing." Tobin Sol did not say much about their work as Resistors, because he felt what he was doing was what should be done, and someone had to do it.
"I understand, so I somewhat grasp why you refused to communicate with Stan Sol."
"Some things have priorities; I cannot abandon guarding this place for personal matters."
"I understand, you don’t need to say more. I won’t persuade you to return with me, I believe Stan Sol can understand you too," Igor felt he was doing a very correct thing at this moment.
"Now is not the time to talk about these; I’m pondering if there’s something special about your essence, why the Soul Devourers would go to such lengths to catch you."
"I’m just an ordinary person, nothing special!" Igor found it odd; he didn’t exhibit anything different, but this group of Soul Devourers seemed determined and mobilized.
"However, the Soul Devourers mobilized nearly all their elite for you. It was difficult for me to teleport some cadre here; if you weren’t carrying Nonoa, I couldn’t have rescued you two."
Igor understood Tobin’s words; teleportation requires a target. If he alone encountered an attack, Tobin couldn’t rescue him, but thanks to Nonoa, Tobin could teleport to the location to aid him.
"Then why didn’t you first teleport to Nonoa’s location, then Nonoa wouldn’t have ended up like this!" Igor suddenly said.
This question left the leader of the Resistors somewhat awkward; indeed, when he went to rescue other trapped cadres, he didn’t rescue Nonoa first.
