Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 101: Adapting
Everyone worked faster to create their hideout while Terry kept an eye on the surroundings. Fortunately, they finished before any of the enemies could show up.
When the first group of trolls showed up, Terry made quick work of them, and he didn’t need help. Still, the others frowned when they saw Terry ripping apart of the limbs of the monsters and throwing them around. He wasn’t joking when he said that he wanted to create a scene of bloodshed.
The guild masters turned to Vanessa, awaiting her explanation. They wanted to hear her thoughts on Terry’s seemingly aggressive plan after witnessing the ferocity with which he dispatched the trolls.
Vanessa just shrugged. The results would speak for themselves, after all. Agreeing nods rippled through the guild masters, indicating their growing confidence in Terry’s approach after a few more fights. While still harboring reservations, they recognized the need to adapt and embrace innovative strategies to overcome the troll menace.
The next group of trolls arrived before Terry could finish with the first one and then shouted, enraged when they saw that. They indeed had some sense of comradeship between them... regardless, before the beasts could reach Terry, Vanessa used her lightning bolts and hit all of them at once while creating a chain of electricity. Terry had an easy time killing them in that state.
The other guild masters wondered if they actually would have to do anything in that scenario... they began to think that they would once he got tired. Still, then all of a sudden, Terry’s Fire Swords began to explode the enemy’s heads.

"Hehe, now things are starting to get interesting," Terry thought.
The piles of monsters began to increase, and Terry needed support. Even when he didn’t need it, Vanessa fried the brains of the enemies. Before long, the guild masters realized that they would only be useful in the great attack against the enemy’s base.
Around the time two hundred of the enemies had been defeated, Terry decided to call it a day since it was getting too dark. The visibility was already bad thanks to the snowstorm, and the temperature probably was going to fall even more. When Terry checked the other guild masters, he saw them with blue lips. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Let’s get going; this is enough for today," Terry declared.
"Perhaps we should bring more people tomorrow to gather the materials from the trolls," George said. "At least the mana stones will do it."
Terry wanted to say a few things about that since they essentially would waste a bunch of time, and hiding a big group working in the snow will be hard. Still, considering that he was going to get a plane out of the mission, George had the right to think about the economy of his town.
"Things worked well today, but do you think that we shouldn’t do something else while counting on the help of the other guild masters?" Vanessa asked when they arrived at the building that they were using.
"I suppose we can, but soon enough, their help will be unnecessary; I just need some fire wands, and then things will become as easy as pie," Terry replied.
"While I don’t doubt that you will be able to do this all by yourself, do you really want to?" Vanessa asked. "Do you plan to solve all the problems of the country once they arrive, or do you want to have some people helping you."
"That is why my guild exists," Terry shrugged.
"Your guild only has one leader, and the others follow you," Vanessa explained. "They can’t be everywhere all at once as well. I am not saying that you should change all of your policies, but antagonizing all of the other guild masters or trying to make them become irrelevant won’t work. You will only cause more problems for yourself."
Terry couldn’t help but reflect on the potential consequences of isolating himself and his guild from the others. While he valued his autonomy and the independence it afforded him, he realized that true progress and success would require collaboration and cooperation with the other guild masters.
Terry recognized that by keeping the other guild masters at arm’s length, he was inadvertently hindering the potential benefits of a unified front. The trolls posed a significant threat not only to his guild but to the entire region. It was clear that a collective effort would be necessary to effectively combat and overcome this menace.
Moreover, Terry acknowledged that each guild master possessed unique skills, knowledge, and resources that could complement his own. By maintaining an exclusive stance, he risked missing out on valuable insights and support that could bolster their collective strength in the face of adversity.
Still, As Terry contemplated the path forward, he couldn’t ignore the inherent flaws of the current guild system. It was a society that rewarded those with power and abilities, often leaving the less fortunate at a disadvantage. While he had initially been critical of the guild masters who seemed resistant to change, he began to consider the possibility that they deserved a second chance.
He understood that societal structures didn’t transform overnight. The guild masters who clung to the old ways might simply be products of their environment, accustomed to the established power dynamics and privileges that came with it. Perhaps, given the opportunity, they could adapt and embrace the new vision Terry had in mind.
