Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 107: Aerial attack
After that, the group dispersed to their rooms, and Terry jumped to his bed. Still, he couldn’t help but keep thinking about that... why would the overlords come to Earth, and what were the requirements?
"The portals are also too stable... if that piece of shit didn’t try to act tough, I could have obtained some answers," Terry thought.
Terry’s mind raced with the realization that capturing the next overlord alive was of utmost importance. The need to extract information from them became crystal clear regardless of the sacrifices or risks involved. Humans couldn’t continue to stumble in the dark, ignorant of the true motives and intentions behind the overlord’s arrival on Earth.
Terry understood that by capturing and interrogating the overlord, they could unveil crucial insights and gain a deeper understanding of the situation at hand. The stakes were high, and Terry’s determination to shed light on the mysteries grew stronger with every passing moment.
The next morning, the group reunited in front of the building after breakfast. Before leaving, Terry explained how things would work.
"We will try to finish things today, at least on this side," Terry declared. "If it is too late in the afternoon when we take down the enemy’s camp, we will wait until tomorrow before crossing the portal. To make things proceed as fast as possible, I will need you guys to keep the magic stones and give them to us when we approach. Otherwise, we will only have the chance to attack every four or five hours."
"I suppose it can’t be helped; it would be weird if you had enough mana to attack and kill more than one thousand enemies by yourself," George said.
Items and equipment that help restore mana are quite hard to find; that was why Terry didn’t have them, and no one wanted to say that they had and could lend them; it was too risky to lose them.
The group left the town, and a lot of people paid attention to them and wished them luck. It seemed that news about the end of the operation had already reached their ears... Terry wondered who he should blame for that.
Regardless, the group took their time to approach the area of the camp. They thought they had already cleaned the surroundings, but it seemed that more enemies had arrived overnight since they were attacked a few times along the way.
"You guys should stay here, we are right in the middle of the area between the camp and the town, and we can’t afford to leave trails," Terry declared. "If things take a wrong turn, I will alert you all with a fire sword, then you will run away as fast as you can."
"Will that be the only signal we will use?" George asked.
"For now, yes," Terry nodded. "Our goal is solely to decrease their numbers while preserving ours, so we should do everything that is necessary to achieve that goal."
Everyone nodded, and then Rebecca created an earth platform. Although she stayed silent and stoic until now, Terry could see her nervousness.
"Finally, alone," Terry said and then showed a gentle smile.
"What the hell... and you say that I was the one after your body," Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows. "I must look pretty pathetic since you are willing to joke around just to calm me down."
"No more than usual," Terry shrugged.
Rebecca calmed down a little after a long sigh ... Terry really didn’t know how to comfort people, or he probably didn’t want to do it the normal way.
Terry and Rebecca stealthily approached the enemy camp from above, keeping a low profile to avoid detection. They moved with calculated precision, their senses heightened, and their hearts pounding with anticipation. However, as they neared the camp, Terry couldn’t help but furrow his brow in puzzlement. The creatures they were up against were renowned for their keen senses, making it unlikely that they would go unnoticed.
They exchanged a glance, silently acknowledging the unusual situation. Could it be that something was amiss? Were the creatures underestimating the potential threat lurking in the shadows? Terry couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was more to the story than met the eye.
"What do you think about this?" Terry asked.
"I am not sure. Vanessa is better at this kind of thing... we should consult her once we finish the first round," Rebecca replied.
"All right, make sure you zigzag as much as possible while keeping the platform steady," Terry said.
Rebecca nodded and then began to lower the earth platform. When they were thirty meters above the monsters, Terry looked around and didn’t see any of them noticing him or Rebecca, not even the ones on the watchtowers... still, he shook those thoughts out of his mind.
Terry unleashed a relentless assault on the trolls’ base, his Fire Swords blazing with an intensity that matched his insanity. With each shot, he cleaved through walls, pillars, and anything in his path, leaving destruction in his wake. The flames engulfed the monstrous beasts, reducing them to smoldering remnants of their former selves.
Meanwhile, Rebecca controlled the Earth platform beneath them, maneuvering it with precision and agility. The platform acted as their mobile vantage point, providing them with a strategic advantage and allowing them to strike from unexpected angles. As the platform moved, Terry effortlessly avoided the attacks of the enemies.
The monsters, initially taken aback by Terry’s onslaught, quickly regained their composure and retaliated with a ferocity of their own. Enraged by the destruction of their base and the loss of their brethren, they launched a barrage of massive logs and boulders toward Terry and Rebecca, their projectiles hurtling through the air with deadly intent.
Rebecca’s body tensed as the projectiles whizzed past her, missing by mere centimeters. She could feel the rush of wind and the shivers down her spine as the massive objects sailed by, threatening to crush them. Her focus sharpened, channeling her concentration into maintaining the Earth platform’s movements, narrowly evading each incoming attack.
