Chapter 150: Creature

Although the direct hit didn’t happen, the attack still made electricity pass through the whole body of the monster and paralyzed it for several seconds. Then Rebecca pushed Terry forward with all her might... an earth pillar below his feet emerged and made him fly at supersonic speeds toward the monster’s neck.

In that short window of time, Terry used the effects of his dark pegasus boots as well and gained even more speed and then he punched the neck of the monster.

The impact caused a blast that knocked away everyone in a two hundred meters radius... Terry’s armor also lost half of its durability... but at least the attack made the monster lose its head. That hadn’t been enough to kill it, though...

Still, before the head could fly in the distance, Terry grabbed it alongside his sword and then swung down at the massive creature again and again like a hammer. Usually, that would be impossible for him to pull it off, even with the power of his armor, but since his sword was attached to the head, it became something like a hammer.

Adding Terry’s power and all the weight of the head, the monster body trembled all over while it was being smashed. The creature tried to move its arms and attack Terry, but the vibration didn’t let the creature move at all.

"Wakey, wakey, motherfucker," Terry said. "You can’t keep hiding forever..."

Terry knew that something as sense as that could only move with several limitations, one of them would be energy. He soon confirmed that when his attacks made the torso of the monster crack and then an area in the middle of that began to emit a lot of light... Before long, people around could see a giant magic stone feeding the whole thing.

The magic stone was connected to the monster by some metal tubes that looked like tentacles. They were sucking the mana of the magic stones, so Terry just had to destroy that and then it would be all done. However, when he thought of attacking that, the magic stone began to glow stronger and more often... that wasn’t a good sign...

Terry jumped away and he barely escaped the moment the explosion started... Still, he knew that everyone was dead... something of that size would engulf the whole area and kill thousands of people and take over half of the city.

However, much to Terry’s surprise, the explosion didn’t expand toward the city... it only expanded in the other directions. Like it was a wave of light, the whole area beyond the walls was engulfed in the explosion and began to tremble for several seconds.

Terry looked at Rosalia and she just shrugged... despite a few moments, that explained why the people in the city were so calm. It also explained why they only had a single guild and all of them were mages.

"It must be Francis’ trait... he can create barriers and the relic makes his mana almost endless," Terry thought. "That is why people believe that they will be safe here no matter what... that also explains why they are all mages... they only need to fight from a distance..."

That whole thing still looked suspicious... Why did they ask for help then? Terry couldn’t find an explanation for that. In any case, when the explosion ended, the massive monster had become just a pair of half of its legs on the ground and in the middle of a two hundred meters deep crater... that kind of power was insane. Still, Terry knew that the fight wasn’t over. While some stone knights died in the explosion, most of them were still alive. So, Terry became Invisible.

A couple of kilometers away from the walls, a sphere was flying toward the portal where the stone golems came from. The sphere was of the size of a human head and it was completely transparent, almost impossible to see from a distance. Inside the same sphere, one could see a small creature making it fly back to the Portal. The creature was a dark sphere with a big eye on it and several tentacles around, it was quite creepy... by far, it was the weirdest alien life form Earth had seen so far.

"Curses... how come I lost to such a primitive species?" The creature wondered. "I should have headed toward the relic instead of wasting time with that annoying worm... my best creation is gone now and I will have to rebuild it from scratch..."

Such a small creature was the overlord that caused so much trouble to everyone... by itself, the creature was extremely weak. However, it was a lifeform that had lived for thousands of years and had learned a lot when it comes to magic and the whole situation. That was why the creature was looking for easy planets to attack and gather resources to prepare for the future.

The dark sphere underestimated humans, but even so, that battle should have been won with ease if the creature had focused on what was important... In any case, when the creature was about to cross the portal, the sphere stopped moving and then Terry revealed himself holding the sphere. The creature began to tremble all over while seeing his cold eyes...

"I congratulate you for trying to screw with us with such a body and lack of presence, you have balls," Terry said. "Any last words?"

"You shouldn’t kill me, you will only regret this if you do so," The creature said.

"That is pretty cliched, well, you had your chance," Terry said.

"Wait, with my Intellect and your power, we can form a great alliance," The creature said. "I have been alive and fighting in this war for a very long time. You can learn a lot with me, what would take hundreds of years, you can learn from me in a couple of days."

"Tell me what you know and I might let you leave," Terry said while he raised his sword.

"Very well, first you need to know that beings are on a race to become stronger and the quickest way for that to happen is to take over worlds," The creature explained.
