Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 157: Next project
"Their numbers are a lot smaller than I had predicted," Terry said while looking around. "Even the weakest portals spawn hundreds of monsters on a daily basis and this portal has been here for over a week."
"Maybe the overlord is attacking more than one world at the same time and it is looking for the easiest one," Rebecca said.
Terry wasn’t so sure of that... still, he realized that lately, he had been overly negative, so perhaps he had to cool down his head a bit and stop overthinking.
"I will check things on the other side and guys watch this side, I feel like you guys have been hogging all the glory with work, after all," Terry said. "I also need to check if the skeletons can do the same things there while I am here and other stuff."
While Rebecca and Vanessa knew that Terry could empower items, they didn’t know how exactly that worked, and Terry didn’t think that it was a good idea to give the details either. In any case, they nodded without making a fuss and soon Terry crossed the portal.
In the end, had wasn’t surprised to see a desert on the other side after he arrived. Still, Terry was surprised since it was quite windy and hot... the heat was bearable, but the hot sand flying around thanks to the wind brokered his exposed skin quite a lot.

"This is insane... the conditions alone are damaging the armor," Terry thought, visibly surprised.
Since it could surpass his defenses, perhaps Terry shouldn’t be that surprised. Regardless, before long, Terry saw some monsters approaching from all sides, they were all giant brown wolves... while killing them with magic would be easy, Terry summoned the skeletons to do the job.
The ordinary ones took their time and suffered a lot of damage before killing the wolves, but the skeleton knights had an easy time blocking their charges and then slicing their heads. Still, neither of them gave experience to the staff.
"I guess it would be too easy otherwise," Terry thought and then sighed. "No mana either..."
Terry will have to get the last kill in order to recover his mana, so Terry did exactly that for a while, until he had one hundred skeleton knights. After that, he made them transport the bodies to the other side and throw them at the entrance of the tunnel.
"Go look for resources that can be useful, if you find it, return here while killing the monsters but leave their bodies behind," Terry said. "If you don’t find it, bring the corpses here."
That will do to identify those who found resources or not. It would be nice if they could find the villages or camps of monsters nearby and bring some relics as well, but they weren’t that strong alone.
"This will be enough for now, let’s check the results tomorrow," Terry said and then he crossed the portal.
In the next moment, Terry fell on a hole beneath the portal. It seemed that Rebecca finished that to surprise him... still, that gave him an idea when he landed.
"Use your magic to cover the entire portal, I want to test something," Terry said. "It will be also useful if you can make the exterior look like some sort of hill. I guess since we are in the middle of a city, a pile of debris will do."
"Do you think that we can keep the existence of this place hidden like this?" Vanessa asked.
"That too, but I want to see if someone will try to undo that," Terry replied. "With the skeletons there, no monster will cross it for a while and even if they do, they will fall on this hole and then be attacked by the other skeletons. This could solve a good part of the problems caused by the portals and that will also keep the existence of the skeletons hidden."
"That makes sense... if we summon enough skeletons in those places, we won’t have to risk guild members either," Vanessa nodded.
It felt like Terry just made all the members of his guild useless... still, even with all their attack power, the skeletons couldn’t fight his guild members that had armor at level ten. Speaking of level ten, Terry had to think of a way to make the skeletons bring the monsters half dead to their base... it would be such a waste of experience otherwise.
"I guess non magic monsters will do the trick," Terry thought.
The next day, when the group went to check the entrance of the tunnel, they found a bunch of corpses of wolves lying there. At least two hundred... the skeletons worked well for the night.
"Can we make the skeletons skin them as well?" Rebecca asked.
"You can’t automate everything..." Terry said and then sighed. "Let’s just move this to the warehouse and call someone to do that."
After that, the group returned to the portal that would take them to the giant wolf world... While they didn’t find anything unusual about the surroundings or the fact that the disguise was still perfect, they found a bunch of corpses of skeletons inside the tunnel. It looked like they had been tossed there after being killed on the other side.
"It seems that we have a feisty overlord here... do you guys want to take care of that?" Terry asked.
"That is fine, but what are you going to do?" Vanessa asked while frowning since it has been a while since Terry had a real fight and he didn’t seem bothered by that.
"I will make sure that the city is fine and keep an eye on the work of the skeletons," Terry replied.
Rebecca and Vanessa looked suspicious, but they still nodded and then crossed the portal. At the same time, Terry began to work on his newest project.
