Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 156: Weird hobby
Terry wondered what was wrong with him... they just got a powerful relic and now he was using it to dig holes. It couldn’t be helped since Rebecca was the one who got the relic and she was the vice guild master, so he more or less had to pay attention to her opinions.
In any case, the skeletons worked fast since Terry created them when his magic power was at the highest. At the same time, the shovels that he created were as hard as they could be, so the skeletons were digging like the dirt in front of them was as sturdy as cheese.
"Now I won’t have to be here all the time," Rebecca said with a large smile on her face.
Terry looked at Vanessa and she just shrugged. The tunnels could be useful for them for movements, besides, every time Terry summoned a skeleton, the staff would get one point of experience, so it wasn’t a half bad way to make it level up. Aside from that, the only way to make the weapon level up was by smashing the heads of the monsters with it.
"We need to find better uses for them, we can only leave so many skeletons down here, after all," Terry said.
"We need to keep them hidden for special missions... we can use them to gather materials in other worlds, right?" Vanessa asked. "I never heard of anyone that knows Necromancy, so I don’t think that we should make this item known."
"True... we should do this by taking over the portals that recently appeared and making some branches of the guild there," Terry rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Still, the people who will be there will need to know how the materials are coming, even if the skeletons don’t show up."
"That won’t be a problem if we dig the tunnels long enough toward the portals!" Rebecca said. "With twenty skeletons, the tunnels can increase by twenty kilometers every day, we just need to keep summoning them!" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"You and your weird obsession... how far are the portals anyway?" Terry asked.
"The closes one is seven hundred kilometers away in Ohio, the other one is close to Nashville, so around twelve kilometers away," Vanessa replied. "The final one is... in Utah, thirty-two hundred kilometers away. Still, I don’t think that this is a bad idea. There are some vehicles that use magic stones as fuel, right? We can make carts the same way. It can also be used as evacuation If something happens in some camps."
"You was infected by the virus as well, huh?" Terry asked. "You guys will probably open some sort of organization to worship tunnels in the future."
Terry felt weird in wasting so much time with that, but it was a bit relaxing building something out of nothing. Maybe he became too militaristic thanks to all the recent fights.
In any case, they brought some carts underground and made the skellies deal with all of the dirt that was being taken from the tunnels. They were strong and fast enough to pull filled carts at eighty kilometers per hour.
Thanks to that all, Terry had an idea and decided to destroy one of the skellies, but he didn’t gain experience... he killed one of Rebecca’s as well, but nothing happened either. Maybe it was because the skeleton didn’t fight or Rebecca was an underling. Either way, it was fine, Terry will find plenty of enemies in the next few days.
In the end, since Rebecca and Vanessa helped as well, it only took three days for them to make a tunnel to reach the city of the first portal. While the skeletons were busy continuing with the tunnel, the group created a hole that led upward and they could see the portal in the distance. Around the area, they also found several giant brown wolves.
"They look like they can use earth magic, so we can’t silently kill them using the same," Rebecca said. "Shouldn’t we use the skeletons to deal with them?"
"Not on this side, I want to play it safe since they appeared recently and someone troublesome must be watching the area waiting for us," Terry replied. "We will dispose of them at night and get rid of the bodies as well. After that, we will connect the tunnel from below to the portal."
"You sure are overly cautious," Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows.
"At the same time, your risk management skills could do some work," Terry said.
"Since the portal appeared recently, the environment didn’t change that much, but the area around the portal is quite sandy... it will be hard to dig a tunnel with that in mind," Vanessa said. "We will have to create something like a door that can be opened and closed even by the skeletons."
"That is fine," Terry said and then checked the staff
Dark Necromancer’s Staff Lv 05 (00/60) (Supernatural)
Magic Power: 60
Durability: 60/60
Summoning Power: + 05%
Summon Skeleton: at the cost of fifty points of mana, you can summon a skeleton that will follow all of your commands.
Summon Skeleton Knight: at the cost of one hundred points of mana, you can summon a skeleton that will follow all of your commands and create shields and swords made of bones.
If things continue like that, Terry will be able to create an army of skeletons that will have even tactical functions, but it was a pity that their cost was that high. Still, he imagined that the overlords would need even more resources to make their own armies...
Regardless, two hours later, the sun set and Terry decided to make his move. Using his Dark Pegasus Boots, he dashed toward the enemies and then split their heads in half with his sword before kicking them and moving toward the next target. Thanks to that, he split the experience between both of them and in no time, he finished off the monsters. Rebecca made them sink on the ground until they reached the tunnel and the skeletons began to carry them back to their base.
