Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 198: Invasion
The already tumultuous battle took a new turn as fire drakes and magma golems entered the fray. Their presence heralded a new wave of danger, as they unleashed massive fireballs and magma spears from the air. The onslaught was unrelenting, and the combined efforts of these elemental adversaries intensified the chaos that surrounded Terry.
In the midst of the inferno, Terry’s resilience and resourcefulness were put to the test. The blows he endured, the flames that engulfed the battlefield, and the piercing pain that coursed through his body served as constant reminders of the precarious nature of his situation.
"Fuck..." Terry muttered when he felt his arms getting burns thanks to the electric currents of the spears. "What a time not to have my armor..."
In the midst of the turmoil, Terry found himself without the luxury of complaining about his circumstances or questioning his decisions. The urgent need to adapt and prevail superseded any doubt or hesitation. He knew he had to forge ahead and devise a swift strategy to turn the tide in his favor.
Terry’s resolve crystallized as he made a snap decision. Leaping backward with all his strength, he created distance between himself and the tumultuous battlefield. In an instant, his weapon transformed into a chakram, a circular blade that he wielded with practiced precision.
With focused intent, Terry hurled the chakram towards the face of a fire drake. The blade sliced through the air with lethal accuracy, cleaving through scales and flesh alike. The fire drake’s demise was swift and definitive, a testament to Terry’s prowess and the calculated velocity of his attack. As he landed, the chakram returned to his hand almost as if guided by an unseen force, ready to be wielded again.
A fleeting smile of satisfaction crossed Terry’s face as he seized the momentum of his success. Spinning his weapon expertly, he launched it in a sweeping arc that defied the chaos that surrounded him. The chakram’s trajectory intersected with multiple fire drakes, its cutting edge finding purchase against their throats. The beasts fell in quick succession, the precision of Terry’s throw resulting in a gruesome dance of defeat.
As Terry’s weapon cut through the air, he instinctively used the body of the first fallen fire drake as a makeshift shield against the barrage of giant fireballs that came hurtling towards him. The beast’s colossal form absorbed the impact of the fiery onslaught, granting Terry a momentary respite from the all-encompassing flames.
With the chakram returning to his hand, Terry’s keen observation skills caught sight of the fire drakes launching themselves upward, their wings beating against the chaotic backdrop. As the trolls advanced, Terry deduced that their sturdier frames and resilience made them more suitable for absorbing the barrage of projectiles from the drakes. It was a calculated tactical move, one that spoke of the adversaries’ adaptable strategy.
Curiosity gripped Terry as he pondered how these foes were able to respond so quickly, adjusting their tactics with an alarming speed. A realization dawned – the overlords themselves were likely exerting control over their forces, orchestrating the battle from the shadows.
A knowing smirk tugged at Terry’s lips as he recognized the enemies’ miscalculation. They had underestimated his ability to adapt and his resourcefulness. This battle was far from over, and Terry was determined to prove that he was a force to be reckoned with.
Transforming his weapon into a great sword, Terry harnessed his mastery of earth manipulation. He encased the blade in swirling dirt, a fusion of raw power and elemental force. With a surge of energy, he set the dirt into rapid motion, enveloping the blade with a whirlwind of grit and debris.
Charging towards the approaching trolls, Terry’s movements were a whirlwind of precision and intent. The great sword cleaved through the air, its newly imbued power resonating with the very elements themselves. As he closed the distance, Terry’s focus was unwavering. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
The blade swung with a devastating arc, its trajectory aimed squarely at the closest troll. The impact was swift and staggering – Terry’s strike connected with unrelenting force. The troll attempted to parry with its ice club, but the power of Terry’s attack was overwhelming. The ice club shattered under the weight of the blow, unable to withstand the combined force of Terry’s enhanced weapon and earth manipulation.
The great sword cleaved through the troll’s chest, a path of destruction carved from its side upward. The force of Terry’s strike culminated in a final, fatal blow as the blade tore through the beast’s head. The troll crumbled, its form succumbing to the lethal might of Terry’s assault.
"How do you like that, dumbasses?" Terry asked while laughing.
Terry’s great sword became a whirlwind of destruction as he cut through the trolls that pressed relentlessly against him. With calculated precision, he swung the blade left and right, each stroke a testament to his combat prowess. The trolls fell before him, their formidable frames no match for the unyielding might of his attacks.
However, as he continued his onslaught, the fire drakes and electric birds emerged once again as daunting foes. The barrage of long-ranged attacks directed at Terry halted his advance, forcing him to contend with the torrential storm of projectiles. The sky crackled with energy as lightning spears and fiery orbs surged toward him.
Terry’s instincts kicked in, and he raised his sword to intercept the incoming attacks. The blade became a barrier against the onslaught, a steadfast defense against the elemental fury that sought to engulf him. Yet, the intensity of the attacks took its toll. The heat of the fire drakes’ flames and the crackling energy of the electric birds’ spears threatened to melt the earth around Terry’s blade, and even the ground beneath him quivered under the assault.
Amidst the fiery chaos and electric frenzy, Terry recognized the need for a more definitive solution. The temporary reprieve he had gained from his earlier tactics was rapidly eroding, and the enemies’ coordinated assault left him with little room for evasion or counterattack.
Before long, the yellow lizards joined the fray and made spears and arrows rain down on the area. Terry quickly found himself surrounded by thousands of enemies...
"They have me surrounded, those poor bastards," Terry thought while smirking.

Amidst the tumultuous battle that consumed Terry’s attention, events were unfolding in parallel across New York City. As Terry fought for his life in the distant battlefield, the consequences of his absence were felt closer to home.
Back in the city, time moved forward after his departure. Vanessa , who had been entrusted with the task of overseeing the portal Terry had used, felt the ground beneath her tremble. Alert and vigilant, she readied herself for whatever might transpire, her instincts heightened by the unsettling vibrations that reverberated through the air.
Half an hour passed in a tense and expectant silence, the echoes of Terry’s absence becoming more pronounced with each passing moment. Vanessa’s gaze remained fixed on the portal, her senses attuned to the slightest change. However, despite the initial tremors that had caught her attention, nothing further occurred in the aftermath.
"Don’t tell me... Rebecca?" Vanessa asked and then looked toward the northern side of the city.
Vanessa used her Earth Manipulation and went up in the sky to get a better view of the situation in the distance. She barely could see things from there, but she confirmed that dozens of enemies were leaving the portal on the other side of the city. Still, Vanessa also could see Rebecca crushing the monsters with her earth magic.
"She is with the staff and other weapons that enhance her magic... she will be fine for now," Vanessa thought.
Vanessa looked down and returned to the area her portal was. There were no signs of Terry returning or of monsters coming, but it was plainly obvious that the enemies decided to move when Terry wasn’t around.
"Did he notice what was happening already? Should I go to the other side and look for him?" Vanessa pondered.
Vanessa wasn’t the type to hesitate or second guess herself, but she couldn’t think of a proper solution to that situation... Still, she knew what her job was and it was to protect the city. She also believed that Terry would come on top with whatever he faces on the other side, but if something were to happen to the people of the city, few people would be able to protect them.
Just as Vanessa was thinking about that, another tremor took over the place, this time, a much larger one. This time, even the usually calm Vanessa couldn’t help but show an expression of shock and confusion... that couldn’t be a good sign.
Once again, Vanessa used her earth manipulation to create a platform to make her fly in the sky... it didn’t take long for her to realize what was going on. A new portal appeared in the exit of the city and when he looked around, there were two others in the opposite directions.
The first portal was spawning four meters tall goblins armed with two swords and the other two were spawning some snake like monsters armed with shields and swords and the other were humanoid fish monsters armed with spears...
"Sons of a bitch...." Vanessa bit her lips.
