Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 110: Walker Grant Sides with Sunny Reed
The secretary looked conflicted but nodded anyway. "Miss Reed, please follow me."
Chloe Reed bit her lip hard. Just as she was about to say something, the door to the hospital room opened.
Walker Grant’s tall, slender figure walked in, carrying two gift boxes in his hand.
His sharp gaze swept across the room before landing on Autumn Linton in the hospital bed. In a gentle voice, he asked, "Mom, how are you feeling today?"
Holding her head, Autumn Linton managed a smile. "I’m feeling a little better. Walker, aren’t you busy today?"
Walker Grant said, "Not too busy. I was worried, so I came to see how things were."
Then, he turned to Charles Reed and asked, "Dad, what’s going on?"
Charles Reed’s face remained grim, not softening in the slightest at his arrival. "It’s the same matter from last night," he said coldly.
Then, he looked at the secretary. "What are you waiting for?"
The secretary headed for the door, with Sunny Reed following right behind.
Chloe Reed immediately rushed over to block them. "I said, no!"
Walker Grant looked at her pale face. She had bitten her lip until it bled, and her frail figure looked as if it might collapse at any moment.
He spoke up, "You’re giving shares to my sister-in-law?"
Charles Reed nodded. "That’s right."
"I suppose that’s fine," Walker Grant said, his tone mild and level, his handsome face betraying no emotion.
"What did you say?!" Chloe Reed stared at him in disbelief, her mind reeling. Her face grew even paler.
’She had been struggling, fighting with all her might.’
’But the moment he arrived, he was going to stand against her and agree with the Reed family’s decision?’
’Why?!’
’Sunny Reed had already gotten more than enough!’
’Was he now going to help her snatch away the Reed Group, too?!’
Tears welled in Chloe Reed’s eyes. She stared at Walker Grant, her gaze so intense it felt as if she could burn a hole right through him.
Charles Reed and Autumn Linton were both taken aback, not having expected him to agree.
Charles Reed, in particular, looked at him with suspicion. ’He disagreed just last night.’
’Could it be that he believed what Sunny Reed said?’
’Did he change his mind because Sunny Reed had saved him?’
’If that was the case, then all the better.’
’With shares in the Reed Group, the debt they owed Sunny Reed would feel a little smaller.’
He sighed to himself...
’It was all Chloe’s fault, that damned girl.’
’She doesn’t know how to compromise, her personality is so spoiled, and she’s been bullying Sunny Reed all this time, making Sunny suffer in silence for so many years.’
’If Chloe Reed had just yielded to Sunny Reed and tried to get along with her, why would they have ever decided to give her shares?’
A flash of disbelief crossed Sunny Reed’s eyes, followed by a wave of immense joy in her heart.
’He was actually helping her!’
’So he believed what she said!’
’Had he realized he’d loved the wrong person all these years and was now turning back to make it up to her?’
Sunny Reed could barely contain her smug delight.
She turned to look at Chloe Reed and saw her pitiful, unsteady state.
’Tsk, tsk...’
’The precious young lady, coddled since birth, was slowly falling into the abyss.’
While everyone in the hospital room was lost in their own thoughts, the expression on Walker Grant’s face remained unchanged. His dark, almond-shaped eyes fixed on Chloe Reed as he said in a low, steady voice, "Since Dad has already decided, there’s not much more I can say. However..."
Charles Reed’s brow furrowed. "However what?"
Walker Grant continued, "My sister-in-law is only the Reed family’s adopted daughter. She has no business experience and hasn’t made any significant contributions to the Reed Group. Five percent is a bit much. How about three percent instead? That way, the Reed Group’s board of directors won’t have much to say about it."
