A hint of hesitation appeared on Autumn Linton’s face.

"What’s wrong?"

Walker Grant arched a dashing eyebrow. "Sister-in-law is only the Reed family’s adopted daughter. If she can get shares in the Reed Group, why can’t Chloe? Is it really like Chloe said? Are you two playing favorites?"

Being called out by their son-in-law like this, they couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed.

Charles Reed gave Walker Grant a dark look and said, "If we suddenly take out so many shares, it will be hard to justify it to the board of directors."

The secretary turned and left.

Sunny Reed stood to the side, a pit of unease forming in her stomach.

Sunny Reed suppressed her annoyance and looked at him. "Walker, I never realized you were so protective of your sister. Even after finding out she lied, you didn’t waver. It’s just a shame she misunderstands you. What are we going to do about that?"

Walker Grant glanced at her, his narrow eyes betraying no emotion. "I’ll handle things between her and me. None of you need to get involved."

Then he added, "Sister-in-law, let me drive you to the office. There are caregivers here to look after things."

A glint appeared in Sunny Reed’s eyes. She nodded. "Alright."

She then turned to her parents. "Dad, Mom, I’m heading to work now. Call me if anything comes up."

Autumn Linton replied, "Okay, you go on."

The two of them left the hospital room together.

Autumn Linton then said, "Charles, what do you think Walker Grant really means? Is he into Sunny, or is it Chloe?"

Charles Reed’s brow furrowed as well. "I can’t figure him out either. That young man is a deep one."

Autumn Linton sighed. "He can’t possibly be interested in both of my daughters, can he? That would be unacceptable. Between Sunny and Chloe, he can only choose one."

Charles Reed said, "It had better be Sunny. That way, she’ll be taken care of for the rest of her life, and we won’t have to worry about her anymore. We can focus all our attention on Chloe."
