Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 315: Let Them Be Together
Now that she was free of all that, she felt a weight lift from her shoulders.
She no longer had to feel heartbroken and rejected over Charles Reed and his wife’s favoritism, nor would she have to second-guess herself or live in constant anxiety over Walker Grant’s indecisiveness.
From now on, she would love herself properly.
Chloe Reed let out a slow breath and walked toward the hospital.
In another half a month, her grandmother could be discharged and go home to recuperate.
By then, she would have also finished her current work and could devote herself fully to taking care of her grandmother.
As for work, she couldn’t think about it right now.
There was still no resolution regarding the attack, and the divorce hadn’t progressed either.
She didn’t want to start working only to be derailed by one thing after another.
It was best to consider work only after everything else was settled.
She pushed open the door to the hospital room, only to see Judith Pierce sitting by the bedside.
Upon seeing her, Chloe Reed’s elegant brows furrowed.
"Mrs. Grant, what are you doing here?" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Her form of address had changed.
Judith Pierce was visibly taken aback for a moment, but she quickly recovered with a smile. "Your grandmother has been in the hospital for so long, and I haven’t come to visit. I figured she must be recovering well by now, so I came over. Have you been busy lately?"
"Yes, you could say that." A flicker of wariness crossed Chloe Reed’s eyes.
These days, she was extremely wary of anyone who deliberately tried to get close to her and her grandmother.
Judith Pierce nodded. "It’s good that you’re back. There’s something I want to talk to you about."
She then turned to the old woman. "Auntie, I won’t disturb your rest any longer. I’ll just say a few words to Chloe and be on my way."
The old woman waved her hand. "Alright."
They left the room and went straight to the stairwell.
Chloe Reed asked doubtfully, "What is it you want?"
Judith Pierce’s expression was complex. She stared at Chloe Reed, silent for a long moment, before suddenly asking, "You really don’t love Walker anymore, do you?"
Chloe Reed nodded. "I don’t."
Judith Pierce nodded slowly, then said, "I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. Compared to the danger you bring, Sunny Reed is actually quite safe. Besides, Walker is very fond of Noah, so I want you to help me get them together."
Hearing this, Chloe Reed’s heart trembled!
She never would have thought that Judith Pierce would actually change her mind!
’Didn’t she used to hate Sunny Reed?’
A strange feeling passed through her, but Chloe Reed didn’t dwell on it. She gave a faint smile and said, "They should have been together a long time ago."
"You think so too? That’s wonderful! You have to help me with this. Once they’re together, your divorce will be much simpler." Judith Pierce also began to smile, a look of relief flashing across her face.
Chloe Reed asked, "What do you want me to do?"
Judith Pierce said, "Julian’s memorial day is coming up soon. By then, Walker’s body should be mostly recovered. When the time comes, I want you all to come back to the Grant family home for dinner."
Chloe Reed nodded. "Alright, I understand."
Judith Pierce was still watching her tentatively. "Are you really not upset that I’m asking you to do this?"
Chloe Reed lowered her gaze slightly. Her beautiful face showed no emotion, and her tone remained light. "I always knew this day would come, so I’ve already come to terms with it."
"That’s good, then."
Judith Pierce nodded. "I was feeling quite guilty about this before, but since you’ve agreed, I can rest easy."
"Chloe, you’re a good child, but your background is too complicated and too dangerous. Walker is my life. I can’t watch him get into trouble again. I’m so happy that you can understand me."
