Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 328: I’ll Grant Your Wish
"So this is the ’gift’ you were talking about? Drugging me and sending another woman to my bed?"
By the end, his voice was thick with disbelief. Yet, the hand gripping her neck didn’t dare squeeze; he was afraid of hurting her.
But... but!
How could she do this to him!
His shoulders slumped. He looked at her unnervingly calm face. He had always refused to believe she no longer loved him, but tonight, that conviction wavered.
She really... no longer loved him.
To get a divorce, she’d actually do something like this.
How... how could she do something like this!
"He was interested, she was willing. I was just helping you two get together. Am I wrong?" For some reason, Chloe couldn’t bring herself to look him in the eye.
She couldn’t bear the look in his eyes.
’He was the one who was nice to Sunny Reed first. For Sunny Reed, he didn’t even care if I was hurt or falsely accused.’
’What right did he have to look at me as if I’d betrayed him?’
’I was just giving him what he wanted.’
’I’ve done nothing wrong.’
"You know, I was actually looking forward to your gift. I felt your warmth toward me, and I thought you were done bringing up divorce. But it was all a facade, all of it was fucking fake!"
Walker Grant let out a low roar as a single tear slid down his cheek, his eyes fixed on her.
Chloe’s eyelashes fluttered violently. Her gaze flickered to him, and she saw his tear.
She froze for a moment before a bleak smile touched her lips. "Walker Grant, you brought this all on yourself. If you had just agreed when I first asked for a divorce, we wouldn’t have dragged this out for so long."
She reached out and tapped his chest, her brows furrowing as she looked at him. "Does it hurt? Right here? This is how much I hurt back then."
"I could just kill you," Walker snarled through gritted teeth. "Who the hell is Sunny Reed to me? I can fob her off with some trinkets! You misunderstood me and threw a fit over a few little things, and it really makes me wonder if you ever truly loved me."
He released her and took a step back, a bleak smile twisting his lips. "Chloe Reed, I must have been fucking blind. Fine. You want a divorce, right? I’ll grant you your wish."
He turned and walked toward the car. But he’d only taken a few steps before he started to sway, then collapsed.
Seeing this, Chloe’s pupils constricted, and she instinctively took two steps forward.
But then she stopped.
A bodyguard got out, lifted Walker Grant into the car, and sped off toward the hospital.
’The wound on his shoulder hadn’t even fully healed, and now he’s back in the hospital.’
The three cars departed, one after another. No one was there to hold her back anymore.
She stood on the road, letting the wind whip against her. A bone-deep chill enveloped her, slowly forcing her to calm down. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
He finally agreed.
That’s good.
As she opened her car door, her phone began to ring insistently. She picked it up and saw the call was from Judith Pierce.
"Hello, Mrs. Grant."
Judith Pierce sounded exceptionally frantic. "Chloe, did Walker go to find you? Have you seen him? That boy is so foolish, how can he be so foolish! When he realized the person in the bedroom wasn’t you, he stabbed himself three times and then stormed out! He’s lost so much blood... he’s going to die..."
Judith Pierce was truly in a panic. She had turned pale with fright when she saw Walker Grant hurrying down the stairs, half his body drenched in blood.
She had called out to him, trying to ask what had happened, but he completely ignored her, striding outside while talking on his phone.
His handsome face was spattered with blood, making him look like a devil from hell—sinister and terrifying.
