Chapter 329: Chapter 329: He Would Rather Injure Himself

Judith Pierce was terrified. She went back upstairs and pushed open the bedroom door, only to find Sunny Reed crumpled on the floor. A bloody dagger lay before her. Sunny’s face was ashen, her eyes wide with horror.

"What on earth happened!"

Judith Pierce rushed in, grabbing Sunny Reed’s shoulders and demanding,

"I don’t know... I don’t know..."

Sunny Reed shook her head, her face pale and her voice trembling.

She had entered the room as planned. But just as she was about to approach him, his tone—so gentle a moment ago—instantly turned cold.

"You’re not Chloe."

His tone was utterly certain.

Then, he turned on the lights.

Sunny Reed was frightened, but she knew he had been drugged and must be in agony. So, she steeled herself and stepped forward.

"Chloe sent me. She said you weren’t feeling well and asked me to check on you. Walker, what’s wrong?"

As she spoke, she reached out to touch him.

"Get out!"

But the next second, Walker Grant shoved her away, roaring furiously, his breath coming in ragged gasps.

The drug had taken control of his body, filling his mind with primal urges. He knew he absolutely could not stay here.

Then, Sunny Reed watched as he yanked open a drawer, pulled out a dagger, and with a look of grim resolve, stabbed himself in the left arm three times.

With each cut, his eyes grew a little clearer.

After the third cut, he was completely lucid. He lowered his gaze and chuckled twice. The dagger clattered to the floor, and he staggered out of the room.

Recalling the scene now, Sunny Reed’s teeth chattered in fear.

She had never seen such a ruthless side to Walker Grant.

Most of the time, he was gentle and courteous, exuding an air of refined nobility, much like Julian Grant.

But just now, he had looked like a devil crawling out of purgatory. The viciousness, unbridled cruelty, and dark aura had merged, making him almost a stranger to her.

But Judith Pierce didn’t believe her. "How could you not know? It was just the two of you in this room! Just tell me what happened!"

Sunny Reed got to her feet, crying as she spoke. "He’d rather hurt himself than lay a finger on me! It’s as simple as that!"

Judith Pierce froze for a moment. Then, her face ashen, she turned and walked out.

’It’s over... It’s all over...’

’The plan failed.’

’Walker Grant must have gone to find Chloe Reed.’

’What will he do?’

Judith Pierce was at a complete loss. All she could do was wait in anxious suspense.

"..."

Chloe Reed responded softly, "He came to find me, but he’s gone to the hospital now."

Judith Pierce paused before asking, "What did he say to you?"

"He agreed to the divorce," Chloe Reed said lightly, then let out a small laugh. "Isn’t that great? No matter how it happened, I achieved my goal."

Judith Pierce was silent for a few seconds before saying, "Aren’t you with him? For your sake, he was willing to hurt himself rather than touch another woman."

But Chloe Reed just scoffed. "That’s his problem. What does it have to do with me?"

"You..."

Judith Pierce was left speechless, unable to get a single word out for a long moment.

"If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up." The words had barely left Chloe Reed’s lips before she ended the call.

Just then, Daniel Hayes came rushing over, his forehead covered in sweat. "Miss Reed, are you all right?"

Chloe Reed shook her head. "I’m fine. Why didn’t you come over earlier?"

Daniel Hayes sighed. "I wanted to, but I was held up. He came prepared. I’m sorry, Miss Reed."

Chloe Reed lowered her gaze slightly.

’So, even someone as skilled as Daniel Hayes stands no chance against Walker Grant?’
