Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 342: No Feelings Anymore
Chloe Reed was annoyed, but now wasn’t the time to dwell on it. She gave Walker Grant a cold look and said, "None of that matters. We’re going to the Civil Affairs Bureau. Now."
Walker Grant’s cool gaze swept over Dylan Finch before he said a few words to the person beside him. Then, he walked toward his office.
He ignored Chloe.
Her expression darkened, and she followed him straight into the office.
"Walker Grant, what is the meaning of this? Are you trying to go back on your word?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
She confronted him the moment the door was shut.
Walker picked up the coffee cup from his desk and took a sip. Then he looked up, his long, pitch-black phoenix eyes regarding her without a trace of warmth.
"Surely you don’t think I’m deliberately dragging this out because I still have feelings for you, do you?"
An inexplicable tightness gripped Chloe’s chest, but she just raised an eyebrow and retorted, "Aren’t you? I waited three hours for you yesterday. Why can’t you wait a little longer for me today?"
"My time is valuable," Walker said.
Chloe sneered. "Then may I ask the busy Mr. Grant if you have time now to get a divorce?"
Walker walked toward her, step by step. His tall figure brought with it a familiar scent that slowly enveloped her as he drew closer.
She watched him, her expression calm.
"I can’t possibly still have feelings for someone who repeatedly tried to push me onto other women," Walker said in a low, gentle voice, stopping in front of her.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Chloe said.
"But I don’t have time right now," Walker said, his expression unchanging. "I have a business trip coming up. I’ll be back in a week."
A flicker of fury appeared in Chloe’s eyes. "You..."
But before she could voice her accusation, he cut in. "After all, I was in the hospital for a long time after my injury. A lot of work got delayed, and I need to take care of it first."
Chloe fell silent.
Walker’s dark eyes were fixed on her, taking in every shift in her expression. "You’re not in a hurry to get married, are you? If not, let’s just handle this when I get back."
Chloe: "..."
Furious, she raised her hand and slapped him.
"SLAP!"
The crisp sound of a slap echoed in the room.
Walker’s head was turned slightly to the side. He reached up, touched his cheek lightly, and then looked at her. "What gives you the right to hit me?"
"I’m hitting you because you keep going back on your word and playing me for a fool!" Chloe said coldly.
Walker lunged forward, grabbing both of her wrists and pinning them behind her back.
He moved so fast she didn’t even have time to react.
By the time she processed what had happened, he had already pulled her into his embrace.
Her eyes widened in shock and disbelief as she stared at him. "Walker Grant, what are you doing?"
They were so close that the tip of his nose nearly brushed against hers.
But just as their breaths began to mingle, he abruptly let her go.
"I don’t have feelings for you anymore."
His expression was cold, and his words were delivered with exceptional calm.
As if he truly felt nothing at all.
It was as if he were telling her—and reminding himself.
Chloe wanted to hit him again, but she was afraid he’d lose control, so she simply turned and walked away quickly.
Outside the office, she shot Dylan Finch a fierce glare, resolving to never again believe a word any of them said.
Dylan Finch rubbed his nose. A moment later, he heard Mr. Grant’s voice from inside the office.
"Come in."
Dylan Finch entered cautiously. "Mr. Grant, what are your instructions?"
Walker was sitting in his chair, his expression exceptionally cold. "Why didn’t you tell me she was here?"
