"Miss Reed, how are you feeling now?"

The voice of the nanny, Aunt Lewis, came through, tinged with concern and worry.

Chloe Reed’s train of thought was interrupted. She looked at her. "I feel much better. Why am I in the hospital?"

Her throat was still a little sore when she spoke, but it was much better than last night.

Aunt Lewis said, "You had a very high fever last night. We got so scared that we brought you to the hospital."

Her eyes flickered, and she seemed hesitant to say more.

Chloe Reed, however, didn’t notice. "Thank you," she said.

Aunt Lewis quickly waved her hands. "It... it wasn’t my decision."

"Was it Grandma?" Chloe Reed curved her lips into a smile. "My grandma must not have slept well all night. I made her worry about me."

Hearing this, Aunt Lewis couldn’t help but sigh. Her expression was very complicated, but she didn’t say anything more.

The doctor came to check on Chloe Reed’s condition. Her fever had broken, and she could go home to rest and recover.

After her IV drip was finished, Chloe Reed left the hospital.

Not long after she left, a tall, slender figure arrived at her hospital room, only to find it empty.

A hint of confusion appeared on the handsome man’s face. He found a nurse and asked, "Where is the patient from that room?"

"Chloe Reed? She’s already been discharged," the nurse said.

Walker Grant stood at the information desk, his sharp brows furrowed. He was carrying a thermos containing the soup she liked.

He only lingered for a few seconds before turning to leave.

Once in his car, he dialed Daniel Hayes’s number.

The line rang for a long time. Just as it was about to disconnect, the call was answered.

Daniel Hayes’s impatient voice came through. "What is it?"

"How did she look when she was discharged?" Walker Grant asked in a low voice.

Daniel Hayes: "If you’re so curious, go see for yourself."

Walker Grant’s tone grew colder. "I need you to tell me."

Daniel Hayes snorted. "Lucas Shaw said I can choose whether or not to listen to you. Right now, I choose not to."

With that, he hung up the phone.

Walker Grant: "..."

His expression darkened. He started the car and drove toward Maplewood Gardens.

However, just a few minutes into the drive, his phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Grant, we’ve found a trace of the Young Mistress," came Dylan Finch’s serious voice.

Walker Grant asked in a low voice, "Where?"

Dylan Finch sent over an address and immediately added, "It’s very close to Miles Hawthorne’s home. I’ve already sent people to keep an eye on him."

Walker Grant raised an eyebrow slightly. "What has Miles Hawthorne been up to lately?"

He’s been keeping a low profile recently.

Dylan Finch said, "He’s been at the Hawthorne family’s old residence this whole time. He hasn’t gone out much."

"Keep a covert watch on him," Walker Grant said flatly.

"Yes, sir."

Then, Dylan Finch asked, "Should we go and bring the Young Mistress back now?"

Walker Grant said, "By the time you get there, she’ll already be gone."

Dylan Finch was taken aback. "How... how is that possible? My investigation was completely covert."

"Then how was she taken from the airport? We still haven’t found out who took her," Walker Grant said in a mild tone.

Dylan Finch: "..."

He fell silent.

’I’ve been wondering about that too!’

The surveillance cameras didn’t capture anything. Once she was out of the airport, she just vanished.

Who on earth took Sunny Reed?

And for what purpose?

Walker Grant said lightly, "Go take a look. Maybe you’ll find some clues."

"Understood."
