Chapter 371: Chapter 371: Couldn’t You Do It?

Chloe Reed turned and walked out of the factory, leaving the sounds of wailing behind her.

The sound of steady footsteps came from behind. Walker Grant was standing not far behind her, his dark gaze fixed on her. "You don’t suspect me?" he asked.

Chloe Reed turned to face him, her tone remarkably calm as she asked, "The person was caught. Were my documents recovered?"

Just then, Dylan Finch walked out, a look of apology on his face. "Ma’am, I’m sorry. Your documents were all cut to pieces."

He held out a bag, showing her the shredded documents inside.

Chloe Reed lowered her gaze slightly and sighed. "Fine."

She turned to leave.

But her wrist was suddenly grabbed. The man’s palm was scorching hot, and the warmth that transferred to her body actually chased away some of the chill.

Chloe Reed’s elegant brows furrowed. She pulled her arm free and asked, "What else do you want?"

Walker Grant was still staring at her. "You don’t suspect me?"

Chloe Reed’s long lashes trembled slightly before she said, "I suspect you. I suspect everyone."

Walker Grant’s expression darkened.

"I really didn’t do this."

His voice was a little low, and she wondered if it was her imagination, but she thought she detected a hint of helplessness in it.

Chloe Reed was suddenly reminded of what had happened during the earthquake.

She asked, "Since I wasn’t the one who saved you back then, why did you hide it? Watching me be so stubborn about it, did you find it amusing?"

Walker Grant’s pupils contracted sharply. He moved directly in front of her. "You know everything?"

"Yes." Chloe Reed’s limpid eyes were tinged with anger. "The person I saved was Julian! Why did you hide that from me?!"

Walker Grant suddenly grabbed her by the shoulders and leaned in close. "Now that you know, what are you thinking?"

His sudden agitation left Chloe Reed at a loss. She shoved him away.

"I just want to know why you lied to me!"

Walker Grant’s Adam’s apple bobbed. The area around them was dark, illuminated only by the car’s headlights.

He tried to read the expression in her eyes but found he couldn’t understand it at all.

He couldn’t guess what she was thinking either.

His hands dropped to his sides. ’They’re about to get a divorce, so what’s the point of dwelling on all this?’

His expression quickly returned to normal. "I’ll take you home," he said.

"Not going to answer me?"

Chloe Reed scoffed. "So what’s the point of you constantly asking if I suspect you? Are you saying you’re incapable of doing something like this?"

Walker Grant’s body stiffened for a moment before he started walking forward again.

Chloe Reed turned her head to look at Dylan Finch. "You, drive me back."

Dylan Finch immediately started looking everywhere but at her, even pulling out his phone and pretending to take a call. "Hello? What’s that? You need me for something? Okay, I’m on my way now."

Then he turned and went right back into the factory.

Chloe Reed: "..."

She looked at the other bodyguards, but they wouldn’t even dare to meet her gaze.

She shot Walker Grant a resentful glare, then started walking away from the factory.

His attitude was ambiguous, and he refused to give her an explanation. There was no way she was getting in his car to go back!

’I really regret this. Why didn’t I just drive myself here?’

But after she had only taken a few steps, she heard the sound of hurried footsteps behind her. Before she could react, an arm wrapped around her, and she was lifted clean off her feet.

"Let me go!"

Chloe Reed struggled, flailing her arms wildly.

Walker Grant ignored her, carried her to the car, and saw that she was still trying to struggle and get out.

He pinned her down, his face grim, and said, "Do you want me to tie you up?"
