Madam Grant sighed. "You two have been constantly fighting about getting a divorce. Since he specifically told us not to say anything, there really was no need to bring it up. As for why I told you this time, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Whether you knew or not wouldn’t have changed your decision."

Chloe Reed slowly nodded. "Mm."

"I’ll call someone to come."

Chloe Reed checked his temperature. It was dangerously high. This was getting serious.

She took out her phone and called Dylan Finch.

"Hello, Mrs. Grant."

Chloe Reed said, "Walker Grant has a fever and is unconscious. He’s at Maplewood Gardens now. Send someone to pick him up and take him to the hospital."

Dylan Finch replied, "Understood. We’ll be there right away."

About ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

Dylan Finch came in with a few bodyguards, lifted Walker Grant, and headed outside.

Chloe Reed stood at the entrance, watching them leave, her fine brows knitting together slightly.

Seeing this, Dylan Finch said, "Mrs. Grant, you should come with us."

Chloe Reed shook her head. "I’m not going."

Dylan Finch looked troubled. "I don’t know what kind of agreement you and Mr. Grant have reached, but if he wakes up and finds you’re not there, he might take it out on you..."

Chloe Reed: "..."

’As expected of the special assistant who’s been by his side for years. He really understands Walker Grant’s personality.’

’What if he impulsively tells Grandmother everything I’ve been through lately? What if she can’t handle it?’

Chloe Reed sighed to herself, then said, "Alright, I’ll go get changed."

Dylan Finch nodded. "Okay."

He let out a sigh of relief.

’As long as Mr. Grant wakes up and finds his wife by his side, he’ll definitely be pleased.’

Chloe Reed went back to speak with Madam Grant.

Madam Grant nodded. "Go on. Don’t worry about me. They’re here."

The housekeepers, Aunt Aldridge and Aunt Woods, lived there to take care of Madam Grant.

Chloe Reed changed her clothes and followed them to the hospital.

The doctor examined Walker Grant and found that his wound showed signs of infection, which was why he had a high fever and was unconscious. He would need to be closely monitored.

Chloe Reed pressed her lips together. ’The wound got infected because it split open.’

’He really has no regard for his own body.’

"Miss Reed?"

Just then, a familiar voice called out from nearby.

Chloe Reed turned to see Annie York walking over, a bag in her hand and a beaming smile on her face.

"Miss Reed, it really is you."

Annie York was overjoyed to see her.

Chloe Reed asked, "What are you doing here?"

Annie York said, "I’m here to visit a friend. What about you? Are you feeling unwell?"

Chloe Reed shook her head. "No, I’m also here to visit a friend."

Annie York nodded, then said, "Miss Reed, I’ll come find you in a bit. Which room is he in? What happened last time really scared me, and I want to talk to you about it."

"Okay, in this one." She pointed to the adjacent doorway.

Annie York replied, "I’ll be over in a bit."

"Mm."

Chloe Reed entered the hospital room. An IV was attached to the back of Walker Grant’s hand, the fluid flowing down through a thin tube.

She pulled up a chair, sat down, and took out her phone to play a game.

Just then, Dylan Finch returned, carrying a bag filled with snacks and fruit.

"Mrs. Grant, thank you for watching over Mr. Grant. I have some other matters to attend to, so I need to go now."
