Chapter 116: Leaving Tuzi Village

Naia and Uncle dragged the unconscious bastard on her mountain bike so they could throw him elsewhere, far away from them. She didn’t teleport or go too fast. If the watch had a tracker, it meant it had a record of his path.

Teleporting with him was revealing to people that there was something extra abnormal about her and her family.

Meanwhile, Grandma went to her brother’s house next door, inviting them to leave. Grandma knew this was life or death, so she would definitely do her best to convince them.

It was inevitably a long conversation that Granduncle definitely didn’t expect to have at 1 am in the morning. Fortunately, the siblings were close and had implicit trust in each other, so Naia didn’t worry that the old guy wouldn’t be convinced.

Not to mention, the kids would cry if they left without them.

When Naia returned with Uncle, Grandpa and the kids were already out and about, gathering their luggage. Uncle went to help them, while Naia began her own luggage—plots of land.

She took the entirety of Grandma’s farmland. They had been taking care of it well, all with the expectation that they would move them into the space. Hence, it was already well organized, and she literally just had to expend some energy to dig up the whole thing.

Another set they took in was the contents of the nursery. The structures themselves were left behind, even if she could’ve taken them in.

Disappearing buildings, even if they were small, were way too abnormal. Doing something that couldn’t be realistically explained by anyone could even open up their minds to the truth.

Next was the livestock. She took in their chickens, geese, and the like. Grandma did not have any of the big mammals, though Naia considered ’borrowing’ some from the neighbors. She had no lack of animals in her space, but taking the animal in would save its life, so why not?

She also did not forget about the various farming tools like a sickle, wheelbarrows, and hoes, and the like. She had already bought new and complete farming tools before, but why waste the existing ones? To the old hands, these might even be more comfortable.

Even equipment like sprinklers, water pumps, storage tanks, hoses, tools, and so on were not missed. Before, she had already bought machinery like seed drills, planters, rotavators, broadcast seeders, and so on. Grandma only farmed a small plot for sustainability, so they didn’t have these things.

She then snuck into the neighbors’ farms to grab plots of land with crops as well as ’borrow’ livestock. While she obviously couldn’t take excessively big parcels, a few hundred square meters here and there should be fine. After all, they were in an agricultural zone where each crop could have acres assigned to it.

The amount she took would go unnoticed for a while. Even if the farmers see it, they would only think a random piece of equipment damaged it, but wouldn’t have a clue about the truth and would just let it pass.

The answer was too impossible, after all.

As for livestock, she’ll probably take every animal she could take; however, knowing they’d just die if left out. She’d simply create openings in the corals so people would think they escaped on their own.

Amusingly, Grandma also helped her decide which neighbors to fleece and which ones were worth going to. Some, she disliked so Naia could take more from them while paying less, while others had genuinely good crops, and they should be given a lot as repayment.

As for payment, Naia still had a conscience, and she snuck in some shelf-stable supplies as well as basics like clothing, seeds, et cetera, inside their homes. As for how they would rationalize the appearance of the food, Naia knew their imaginations would fill in the gap.

"Oh, take bits of Old Wen’s sugarcanes. His is the best," Grandma told her. "Fertilizers too."

They had bought a lot of fertilizers from him over the past few days, so she did agree that the old man’s sugarcanes were the highest quality she had seen.

The space expanded and expanded like this. While there was still plenty of empty space left behind, what was already inside was already vast, especially since there were only so many of them currently in the space.

Gale and Glen, who were in the space, would specifically run to the edges, watching the land expand with their own eyes.

"Wow..."

"I will never get used to this."

"How big is your space?" Glen asked her. They could not access the remaining void space.

"Big," Naia said vaguely, looking at the couple of hectares of land she still had.

She went out and placed everyone’s luggage in the space. They left most furniture and heavy objects in their houses, taking away some relatively new appliances and sentimental items.

Grandpa, for one, had a lot of these items. He especially liked the textured paraphernalia since he could still appreciate them even with his current condition.

Speaking of Granduncle’s bad eyesight, they would try to get him treated. Since she arrived, they had actually gotten him checked in the small hospital in Acero Town. Over the past weeks, he had been drinking some essential vitamins and medicine to build up his foundation first.

Perhaps he would be ready for actual surgery soon.

"Is everyone done?" Naia asked. They nodded, and she placed most of them in her space. Grandma wanted to stay out, but everyone convinced her to just relax in space.

Road trips were never easy, especially for old people.

As for the rest of the ’young’ people, they would take turns accompanying Naia outside, mostly to drive for her.

As for Naia, she...always had to be outside if they were traveling. She was the anchor to her space. If she went inside the space while they were moving, she’d be left behind by the car when she went out.

They left the village without saying goodbye, and they could only pray that the others would live well one way or another.

"Hopefully, those gangsters won’t find us anymore..." Uncle, the driver, said. Naia nodded, though internally she was thinking the next ones would die horrid deaths in her hands.

What Naia didn’t know was that the Red Gang wouldn’t be able to bother her for a while.

Why?

Because the devil arrived at their door.

...

At this time, the Red Gang headquarters was filled with the sound of screams and gunfire.

BANG! BANG!

"What....what’s going on?!"

"HELP!"

"STOP THEM!!!"

"Damn it, they blocked all the exits!!"

This place used to be an apocalyptic bunker prepared by a very rich person a decade prior. It was bought off after he died and converted to what it is today.

It was quite well hidden, with only one road heading there. It would only be visible if someone passed a helicopter or drone tens of kilometers away from the nearest official road.

BANG! BANG!

Hundreds of soldiers, a good portion of whom were under special forces, descended on the hidden base like divine judgment. They didn’t even notice that there were so many people arriving in their area.

The government’s technology was naturally different from what many people could access, not to mention that they sent the best of the best here.

Soon, the soldiers found tons and tons of gold, jewelry, stolen antiques, firearms, and even drugs.

Making a rough estimate, all the items they found so far should be worth at least a billion danas!

A billion!

That’s the annual tax income of a small municipality.

This amount indicated that this was a base of a massive syndicate, possibly one connected to international dark organizations! The IT soldiers were very quick to download everything.

Everyone was doing something and there was no area that was void of activity.

"We found another area." Soon, one of the team leads said something through the intercom. There was a pause as they decoded the door’s access.

When they opened the door, everyone turned silent.

Inside was a laboratory almost as large as the rooms outside combined. It had high ceilings, isolated rooms, and each one had a person inside, all barely looking alive anymore.

There were even cut body parts, and people stabbed with tubes all over their bodies.

Anyone with a brain could tell what this was. This was definitely not a hospital.

It was a base for human experimentation!

At the command center, set up not too far away, a certain handsome man was staring at their progress. Meanwhile, the other people with him had long lost their cool.

This was especially so when they opened yet another room with cages filled with trafficked people, many of whom were children. Some had triggered the database, indicating they were registered missing persons.

"Damn! These beasts!"

"This is worse than I imagined!"

"It is no wonder their version of illegal drugs are so superior to others. They test it..."

"To think such devils walk in our land!"

"Oh god...how many are these?"

Another’s voice cracked. "How many did we miss?"

"It makes me sick!"

The operators as well as the commanders were all cursing at the screen, hoping to jump in and shoot these bastards themselves.

Kael’s expression remained steady the whole time, though his eyes were showing a whirlwind of emotions. He couldn’t help but recall some images from the past, when those evil people took over the remaining base in the world.

He and Naia had been one of those caged children back then.
