Planet Vs Aliens: Space User Saves the World
Chapter 115: Hiding and Running
Naia went to the rooms and hid her family in the space. Since she needed to touch people to put them in, she went from room to room. By default, she set the humans’ entry point to the accommodation area.
Whether they’d wake up during the transportation or just be shocked that they were on the ground was not her concern.
Soon, she heard the door creaking open and she immediately flushed herself to the wall, the part which was a blind spot for the person who just crossed over the threshold.
She was currently in Linlin’s room, which was at the end of the corridor. The door was left open because of their sudden appearance, and it would give the impression that there was no one there.
She could hear more and more footsteps enter and roam the house. The steps were very light, and most people wouldn’t notice someone had entered at all.
For a moment, she wondered whether to just hide in the space like the family did.
It wasn’t that she was afraid of these men. She was wary of the possible repercussions of dealing with them.
First of all, they had guns. The neighbors might be far, but there could be stray bullets flying around, should an actual fight start. She did not want any innocents hurt here, especially not those nice and pure villagers.
She grew up in the apocalypse, but by the time the true end of times had arrived.
This was unlike the early to mid-stage where people just wanted to survive, and life was considered cheap. During her time, there were not many people remaining.
Back then, unless someone committed a particularly heinous crime like betraying and endangering the base, few people would get executed.
Her heart was cold as needed, and she could turn off her pity if it were to become an obstacle, but she still cherished life.
Another worry was that if these men all died here, more could appear later—and they would be better prepared.
She dared not underestimate the power of a local organization. She had managed to cause them headaches everywhere and get out unscathed because they were caught off guard.
Obviously, with her address in their hands, that was not the case anymore. It was her in the light, and the other in the dark.
"What? There’s no one here. Did they leave?" she could hear them talk. Linlin’s room was at the end, so this place was the last place they’d check.
"Did they? We had people monitoring the entrance, and none of the family members were there."
"Did they go to the neighboring village?"
"There was no word, but also not impossible. Those brats and bitches are more troublesome than I thought!" another said, an evil expression on his face.
As if to vent his frustration, he grabbed something random—a vase—and then threw it in a random direction.
Some soft half-orcs were much calmer, and they whispered to their companions. "Do we go back?"
"Keep looking first."
Tap, tap, tap
Soon, one of the men appeared inside Lily’s room. He looked around, checked the cabinets, the toilet, and even under the bed.
There was no one there.
"Clear!" he yelled, meeting up with the others as they made a decision on what to do next.
"Move out! We’ll investigate tomorrow."
...
Naia had decided to hide in her space in the end.
Killing these mercenaries was more trouble than they were worth. Considering how little time they had left before the Fall, there really was no need to waste time on these things.
In contrast, as someone with a space and the ability to teleport, it was much easier, safer, and efficient for her to go around undetected than to stay still and wait for the enemies to approach.
She could also use this time to further expand and fill up her space.
While she was sitting cross-legged on the grass, Grandma—who had landed nearby—approached her. "Why are we here, child?"
"We got some thieves again, except their number and strength were far greater than the ones we met before."
Grandma paled. The others who were already away, had also heard this and their expressions were also not very good.
"We’d have to move earlier than we thought," she said. "Can you gather everything tonight?"
The solemn atmosphere wiped away any sign of lethargy on everyone’s faces.
What a way to start the day!
...
Naia took the family out of the space to start packing up. On the other hand, she went out of the door and teleported in a direction.
Their enemies naturally left someone to keep watch of the house. When he saw the house’s lights were turned on, he took out his phone to make a report.
However, before he could even press a button, the phone disappeared from his palms.
He turned his head to look again, wondering if it slipped down without him noticing. The sight that greeted him, however, was a fist.
PAK!!
...
Naia appeared next to the house, dragging a man a few heads taller than her. Uncle, who was organizing the chickens for transpo, immediately went to help her out.
They put the man inside the house, and soon the unconscious bastard was surrounded by the family.
"Is it done?"
"Hmn."
"Wouldn’t they look for him?" Linlin couldn’t help but add. There should be more than ten armed men roaming around the area. What if this guy managed to call them?
"They might, and that’s why he’s still alive at all."
She had considered taking him into the space and letting the wolves play, but she reckoned putting them inside the space would cut off the signal and send some inconvenient messages to the enemy.
She had seen that his watch was a relatively high-tech smart watch. She worried that it could send vitals elsewhere, so she didn’t dare kill him while they were not prepared to leave.
As for interrogation, they wouldn’t bother. This guy had to live, but shouldn’t trace back to them.
Later, they’d probably drag him over one of the ditches, ideally the place where the cow dung was gathered to be added to fertilizer.
Trash begets trash, after all.
