Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 246 I’ll handle it myself
Taking medicine! Again, taking medicine!
Lily Turner sprang up instantly, and with her mind filled with irritation and impatience, she swiftly walked over to open the door. Her anger flared even more the moment she saw Sister Gui.
"Where exactly did you get that medicine? It almost killed me." Thinking about how awful she felt that morning still made her quite furious.
Because of her apprehension towards Easton Holmes, Sister Gui felt she should keep her distance whenever Easton was at home.
That morning, when she saw Dr. Wang arrive, she felt suspicious and very much wanted to follow and see what the situation was. But at the thought of Easton being at home, she put her lifted foot back down on the ground.
Now, hearing what Lily said, Sister Gui realized the doctor was there to treat Lily this morning. But what on earth did she mean by her words—why did the medicine she bought almost kill her?
"Young Madam! I bought that medicine from a legitimate pharmacy; I even have the receipt. If you don’t believe me, I’ll go and get it for you." Sister Gui said, turning around to head downstairs to her room to retrieve the receipt and prove the medicine’s legitimacy.
Seeing this, Lily called out to stop Sister Gui, who was about to head downstairs, "No need, I believe you."
Thinking it over, this matter wasn’t her fault at all; she was just following orders to supervise her taking medication. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Upon hearing this, Sister Gui immediately turned back, "Then you..."
"Just give me the water, I’ll handle it myself." Lily reached out to take the cup of water Sister Gui was holding. Since Easton already knew she was taking medicine, she couldn’t imagine his reaction if the same thing as that morning happened again after taking it.
This morning, she could tell he was very angry; his angry demeanor was somewhat terrifying.
Sister Gui glanced at the cup Lily had taken, then looked up at Lily herself, her face looking troubled, "Young Madam! This... you..."
With all the hesitating, she didn’t really know how to put it into words.
"There’s no need for you to feel troubled, just report the situation here truthfully to your Madam later."
Lily could see Sister Gui’s difficulty and understood what was troubling her. She shifted Sister Gui’s difficulty onto herself, "Go report quickly, I’m tired."
After saying this, she closed the door.
After closing the door, Lily leaned weakly against it, holding the cup of water. Before long, she slid down to sit on the floor.
She lifted the cup in her hand, stared at it, and finally, gulped down the water in the cup.
Lily sat on the floor for a very long time, from dusk until the lights of evening awoke, yet she still didn’t have any intention to get up.
Thud!
The cup in her hand slipped to the ground, and the sound of it hitting the wooden floor startled her out of her daze.
Lily slowly came back to her senses, only then realizing that it was already dark. There was no light on in the room, only the television flickering with light.
By the light from the TV, she saw the cup had rolled to a spot not far from her. She leaned over to pick up the cup lying on the floor, and supported herself with the door to stand up.
She went over to pick up the cellphone on the sofa, looking at the time displayed, it was already past 8 PM. Why hadn’t he come back yet?
Usually, by this time, he’d have been back for over an hour, but today, there was still no sign of him.
Could it be that she didn’t hear him come in?
Lily walked out of the room with her phone in hand. The hallway was pitch black; she turned her head to glance at the study, but there was no glimmer of light there either.
