Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 247 He Didn’t Return All Night
On the second floor, Lily Turner didn’t see Easton Holmes, so she hesitated at the top of the stairs for a moment, then chose to go downstairs to look for him.
"Young Madam!"
Perhaps having heard the commotion, Sister Gui, who was doing laundry, came out of the bathroom.
Lily Turner glanced at Sister Gui’s hands, which were covered in laundry detergent foam, and waved her hand, "Go on with what you’re doing. I’m just downstairs looking for something to eat."
Saying this, she turned and headed towards the kitchen.
"Young Madam! Wait a moment, I’ll wash my hands and heat up some food for you."
"No need, I can do it myself."
Sister Gui wanted to heat up the food, but Lily Turner, with her back to Sister Gui, waved her off and then strode into the kitchen.
On the kitchen counter, there were several plates of food, and the rice cooker had rice in it too. Lily Turner just glanced at the sumptuous dishes, but she had no intention of heating them, let alone eating.
She took some bread from the fridge and poured half a cup of milk, then returned upstairs to her room.
Lily Turner watched TV while eating bread and drinking milk; she ate very slowly and absentmindedly.
Just a mere three or four slices of bread, Lily Turner spent over half an hour finishing the food she brought upstairs, which took more than forty minutes in total.
She picked up her phone to check the time, two minutes to nine, but there was still no sign of him coming back.
Is he busy with military work? Or is he angry and doesn’t want to come back to see her?
Lily Turner picked up the phone, but after hesitating for a moment, she put it down again.
If he loves not coming back, then so be it. It’s better if he never comes back, so she can have some peace.
Muttering angrily to herself in her heart, she turned off the TV, got up, and strode towards the bed. But just as she was about to reach the bed, she suddenly changed direction and walked towards the door.
If he doesn’t want to come back to see me, then he shouldn’t come in.
After double-locking the door, Lily Turner walked towards the bed again, but without stopping for a moment, she burrowed under the covers. Yet she couldn’t fall asleep at all.
She held onto the phone tightly, checking it from time to time.
But no matter how many times she checked, there was no change on the phone— no missed calls or messages.
Frustrated, Lily Turner tossed the phone to the foot of the bed, pulled the quilt over her head, and went off to dreamland.
That night, Easton Holmes didn’t come back, and when Lily Turner woke up the next day, she reached for her phone. But there was still no message from him.
Phew!
She let out a long sigh towards the ceiling, casually tossed the phone aside, and got out of bed to head to the bathroom.
Bang, bang, bang!
Just as Lily Turner sat down on the toilet, there was a knocking at the door.
He’s back!
Ignoring her urgent need, she quickly got up and walked out of the bathroom to open the door, but she stopped abruptly after just a few steps.
Even if he’s back, so what? Why should she rush over to open the door for him?
Glancing at the closed room door, Lily Turner returned to the bathroom and locked the door from the inside.
Bang, bang, bang!
Perhaps the person outside was getting impatient and knocked on the door again, this time with much greater force, making it obvious that whoever it was, they were using a lot of strength.
Pretending not to hear, Lily Turner slowly took care of her pressing need, but the person outside wasn’t about to let her have her way.
Bang, bang, bang! Bang, bang, bang! Bang, bang, bang!
The person outside knocked continuously, each knock louder and harder than the last.
