Wu Yun went to the door of Li Qiuliang’s office next door, knocked, and entered.

Li Qiuliang was organizing materials for a meeting. Seeing Wu Yun come in, he smiled and said, "President Wu, please have a seat!"

He chatted with Li Qiuliang for a while to get the specifics on the contract negotiations. Although Li Qiuliang had already reported the results to Wu Yun on the night the contract was signed, many of the details and data were too complex to go over on the phone.

According to the agreement, the first batch of 100,000 bikes would be shipped to Rongcheng in late August, while the 1,000 original models for promotional use would be delivered within a week.

In other words, the plan was for Little Red Car to begin its promotional testing as soon as the original models arrived.

The agenda for most company meetings is more or less the same: first, summaries and plans from each department; then, work assignments from the general manager; and finally, a speech from the chairman.

Wu Yun wasn’t like those state-owned enterprise leaders with a habit of giving long-winded speeches. In less than an hour, the meeting ended with his simple declaration to proceed as planned.

Pushing open his office door, he saw Qi Fei, who looked up in surprise. "Finished already?"

Wu Yun smiled. "The company was just founded, so there isn’t much to discuss. Besides, I was afraid of keeping you waiting, so I wrapped it up quickly."

"Let’s go. I’ve already arranged for a car!"

They took the company’s newly purchased Buick GL8 to the RV rental agency where they had an appointment.

Inside the RV rental agency, a big, bald man was yawning, looking like he hadn’t fully woken up. But when he saw Wu Yun walk in with four beautiful women, he greeted them enthusiastically. "Hey, buddy! What kind of RV are you looking to rent?"

"Boss, what do you have that can be driven with a standard C-class license? We need something with a lot of space, enough for five people," Wu Yun said, turning to glance at the row of RVs in the parking lot outside.

The bald boss’s eyes lit up. ’A big fish!’ he thought. The type of RV Wu Yun was asking for was basically in the highest price bracket on the market.

"So, where are you guys planning to go camping? Come on, I’ll show you what we have available," the bald boss said, leading Wu Yun toward the parking lot.

The bald boss looked at Wu Yun and the four women behind him. "That’s a good number of people. In that case, I’d recommend these two models; both are suitable for a group of five. And since they’re 5.99 meters long, you can drive them with a standard C-class license." He pointed to a C-class motorhome with a pickup truck front and another built on a light-duty truck chassis.

"Boss, just tell me which one has more space. We need enough room for five people to move around without feeling too cramped." Wu Yun’s knowledge of RVs was limited to a few influencers he’d seen on Douyin in his past life, so he stated his needs directly to the bald boss.

The bald boss looked up at Wu Yun, who was half a head taller than him, and said, "That would definitely be the light-duty truck model! It’s a bit more expensive, though. We just got this one in, so it’s practically brand new. The rate is 1,500 a day."

Wu Yun stood in front of the light-duty truck-style RV. His first impression was good. "That’s fine! Money is not an issue."

He had researched RV rental prices before coming, so he knew the bald boss wasn’t overcharging him.

"Alright, my friend, let me give you the tour. You can hang your bicycles on the rack at the back. This ladder here goes up to the solar panels for inspection and cleaning, but you generally won’t need to use it."

The bald boss then led Wu Yun’s group on a walk-around of the RV, pointing out the pass-through storage compartment and the external kitchen. He opened the hatch and pulled out the slide-out stove to demonstrate.

Next, the bald boss showed them how to use the external awning.

"This is the black water tank," the bald boss explained, pulling it out to demonstrate. "You’ll need to remember to empty it every day, as it’s connected to the toilet."

Wu Yun recorded the entire demonstration on his phone. It was partly for evidence and partly as a tutorial for a novice, even though he had watched plenty of RV videos before.

"Come on, let’s check out the inside."

The door to the RV’s living area was in the middle of the vehicle. Stepping inside, Wu Yun took in the entire layout at a glance.

Qi Fei and the other women looked around the interior with curiosity.

In the rear was a 1.34-meter-wide bed, more than enough space for two of the women to sleep. Below it was the pass-through storage compartment; the bald boss demonstrated that items in storage could be accessed from inside the vehicle.

Above the driver’s cabin was a 1.78-meter-wide cab-over bed, which could only be accessed with a special ladder.

The bald boss demonstrated how the cab-over bed could be lifted to reveal a television underneath.

Other features included a small all-in-one bathroom and an indoor kitchenette with a refrigerator.

Then, the bald boss showed them the locations and functions of the other storage cabinets.

"Buddy, this dinette is in a slide-out. You press this switch, and it expands outward to give you more space when you’re parked. The table can also be lowered to form another bed. So, you’ll have two people sleeping in the back, two in the front, and one on the dinette. A perfect fit!"

"Also, all our RV linens are managed hotel-style. They’re replaced with a fresh set after every rental. If you’re still concerned, you’re welcome to use your own sheets and duvet covers."

In just over ten minutes, the bald boss had demonstrated all of the RV’s essential functions to Wu Yun’s group.

"So, what do you think, my friend?"

Seeing the owner’s enthusiastic expression, Wu Yun glanced at Qi Fei and the others. Seeing their satisfied looks, he smiled and said, "Alright, we’ll take this one. We’re not sure about the exact number of days, but it should be for five days or more."

Their route wouldn’t take them all the way to Lhasa. They were just planning to start from Rongcheng and follow Route 318 through Ya’an and Ganzi, playing the rest by ear. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Not a problem. I’ll get the paperwork started for you right away. The rental period starts today, after we sign the contract, and will be calculated up to the day you return the vehicle. Our RVs all go out with a full tank of fuel; just make sure you fill it up when you bring it back. And remember, it takes diesel."

"Oh, and a reminder: while the RV is moving, regulations require everyone to be wearing a seatbelt. Try to avoid walking around inside."

The bald boss provided a seamless, one-stop service: he checked Wu Yun’s driver’s license, collected the security deposit, and then held out two copies of the contract, saying, "Do you want to take one more look? If there are no problems, we can sign."

With Wu Yun driving the RV, they first headed to a mall to buy long-sleeved shirts and pants. ’Such a spur-of-the-moment trip,’ he grumbled to himself. ’Coming on a trip this unprepared... they just assumed they could hit the road without thinking it through.’

They also found a place selling bedding and bought a cotton mattress pad and a quilt for the dinette bed.

Basically, Wu Yun bought everything he could think of. The refrigerator was stuffed full, not to mention the pass-through storage compartment. These supplies were enough for the group to survive in the wild for a week—and he did mean survive, not live comfortably.

Water is a precious resource in an RV, and with five people using it, they would basically have to empty the tanks and refill them every day.
