Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 87: Snail Caviar (II)
When Tong Zhaodi heard that Han Ruochen had pulled snail caviar, she was so shocked that she almost dropped the bucket that she was holding. She had never expected Han Ruochen to be so lucky that she would be able to dig out snail caviar! She turned to look at Han Ruochen, who was rather calm even though she had dug out snail caviar and closed her mouth shut. Her boss was not showing any sign of shock, so how could she act like someone who had not seen the world?
She closed her mouth and tried to calm herself down.
"Let’s go," Han Ruochen said to Tong Zhaodi. She knew that apart from these few things, there was nothing good left on the beach. There were only clams and small shrimp, which wouldn’t amount to much. So there was no need for her to waste any time on the beach. What was more, Tong Zhaodi was stubborn and refused to apply any sunscreen, quoting that it was too expensive, and she didn’t want to waste any.
Han Ruochen was worried that if she kept Tong Zhaodi any longer on the beach, she would turn tanned, and that wouldn’t be good. The girl was already as thin as a stick, and if she turned tanned, then her mother might even sell her off to an old bachelor. After all, Aunt Tong was always worried about how much bride price she could get from her daughters.
Han Ruochen politely waved at the villagers and bid them farewell. There was a day left for high tide; the weather was already too hot, and she was quite tired after digging around. Han Ruochen was still lacking experience; thus, it took her quite some strength to catch the zebra mantis shrimps. She was not used to doing such hard chores, which was why her wrists were aching a little.
So, instead of lingering on the beach to collect clams, she might as well take care of the seafood that she had caught.
Tong Zhaodi usually avoided the villagers because of her identity as a jinx, but upon seeing how Han Ruochen was bidding goodbye to the villagers, she couldn’t stay silent. She pursed her lips and then nodded at the villagers before walking behind Han Ruochen.
When the villagers saw Tong Zhaodi and Han Ruochen walking away, they couldn’t help but frown. Usually, these two women stayed away from the villagers. While one had a cold look on her face, the other often lowered her head and never looked them in the eyes. Because of this, the villagers took the two of them as impolite, but now that their manners were impeccable, they couldn’t say anything.
Widow Wang was shivering and trembling behind the crowd. She still couldn’t believe that Han Ruochen was this lucky. Her eyes flickered, and she hurried to the Han family. This won’t do. Meng Yunhan’s daughter made such a big bucket of gold; how could her dear friend not know about it?
Han Ruochen had no idea that she was already being targeted. She headed to her uncle’s house.
Her uncle was swatting flies when he saw his niece walking over. However, he didn’t have much hope. After all, today was low tide, and nothing good was going to come out of it. At least that was what he thought until he saw the zebra mantis shrimps and mantis shrimps in their buckets. And what was more, there was also —
"Snail caviar!"
Second Uncle Han sucked in a breath. He looked at the four piles of snail caviar and gulped heavily. He looked like he had never seen such a thing before, which was true because he had indeed never seen it. Even his father was not skilled enough to catch these things.
"I guess I was lucky," Han Ruochen wiped the sweat off her face and looked at the snail caviar in her bucket. She pursed her lips and asked her second uncle, "Second Uncle, can you sell these things?"
Upon hearing the question of his niece, Second Uncle Han pursed his lips. "I will be honest with you, Ruochen. Uncle has some connections, but his connections are limited. Even if I try to sell this snail caviar for you, I will not be able to sell it for a high price."
Second Uncle Han didn’t have a good expression on his face. He never thought that he would one day refuse to make money. However, the person in front of him was his own niece; he couldn’t take money from his niece and, in return, give her the short end of the stick. It was not that he couldn’t sell this snail caviar; he could if he wanted to, but the county restaurants would definitely not give him a good price.
After all, he was not a big shot in their list of connections.
If it were some other villager, he would have never refused. But this was his own niece, and he couldn’t take advantage of her!
He pursed his lips and sighed before saying, "If you ask me, it’s better if you come with Uncle to the city. Maybe we will be able to sell it to someone who is willing to pay a reasonable price for it?"
Han Ruochen frowned. Her uncle’s remark left her stumped for words. This snail caviar was a pretty good thing, but they didn’t know anyone in the city. Even if they went to the city, what were the chances of her getting a good price? What was more, this thing might no longer be fresh by then, and someone would try to take advantage of her. She could make the trip to the city, but it would be too late, and she couldn’t take this thing back home either.
If her mother saw these things, she would sell them for even a penny as long as she could help Yun Xinye.
And there was no point in telling her father either; he had his connections when it came to pig farming. What was more, even if he had any connections, their patience had long been exhausted by Meng Yunhan.
