Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 101 - The Culprits(Part 3)
I came out into the open with a grimace, as the trees and bushes around where I’d been hiding had been set ablaze, the flames rapidly spreading and clouds of smoke starting to billow out.
"Hm? Dark blue hair, two scars on the face, different colored eyes and a whip Soul Weapon...ah, I remember. Your appearance matches the reported description of the brat who killed Commander Duralles and his family before escaping Dianus," Remarked the green haired Knight, as he regrouped with his bald partner, while Rosary came over towards me with a grimace.
"You take the bald one, I’ll deal with this guy," I muttered to Rosary, who nodded after a brief, hesitant pause.
"Huh? Who?" The bald guy responded to his partner.
"Ugh, never mind. I don’t understand how you’re a Lieutenant like me, it baffles me that we’re at the same rank," Sighed the other one in exasperation.
Not good, that’s the second highest rank a Knight can achieve, they’re second only to the Commander...I wonder if that’s still Aries Velenet or if she was replaced, or maybe even executed, for killing those Knights who disobeyed her?
"Maybe you should’ve worn a disguise," Grimaced Rosary warily.
"Yeah, I probably should have...we’ll just have to make sure we kill these two," I replied, before swinging my whip across at them, forcing them to scatter.
I then shot towards the green-haired one, who moved his shield in front of himself, while Rosary shot towards the bald one. Elemental Metal: Create Spear!
As I used Distance Casting on the Spell, a Magic Circle forming behind the Knight’s head, he reacted instinctively at the last split second, losing the top of his ear and sustain a deep cut across the right side of his head, just barely missing his eye, as he avoided being pierced through the skull.
I then leapt forward as I closed in and drove the dagger end of my handle in towards towards, which struck his shield with a loud clang, before I flicked my wrist to crack my whip around the shield and in towards his left side.
Elemental Flame: Mega Fire Spear Barrage! 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Five Magic Circles formed all around him, his eyes widening in alarm as I flashed a smirk at him. He was out of the range of my Distance Casting earlier, and I didn’t want to give it away while having a lower chance of landing a hit.
But at this range, even if he reacts and evades...it’s gonna take some serious ability to avoid my attacks unscathed. He let out a hiss of pain as he sprang back right as the multiple flame projectiles rapidly converged in on him.
I felt the tip of my whip connect as well, as he back away several paces to get some distance, his arms covered in burns and a wide, horizontal cut across the middle of his chest. He touched at the cut and stared at the blood on his fingers with a grimace, before lifting his gaze and glaring at me.
"Okay, I suppose you’re not bad...for a Commoner. I am a Lieutenant of the Knighthood of Obsidian, Tayn Regerelle, and I will kill you," He remarked icily, before sending his shield rapidly spinning towards me.
As it closed in on me, I braced myself and then swiftly deflected it away with the dagger end of my blade, before my eyes widened as I lost sight of him. Crap, he must have shot out my sight while I was focused on the shield, I have no idea where he is!
Heh, just kidding...I can still hear him coming. He’s to my right...I kept a dumbfounded, confused look on my face as I turned my gaze to the left, the opposite direction in which he was coming at me, as I heard the sound of something slicing through the air to my right, the footsteps speeding up and leaping towards me.
Based on the sound...it’s a small knife or dagger. He must be using that instead of Magic, since the Magic Circles that inevitably appear during Spellcasting make surprise attacks less effective.
Right as the blade closed in on me, I swung the dagger end of my handle up in that direction, the sound of metal shattering echoing out as I broke through the blade.
"Gotcha," I smirked, meeting his gaze as I activated a powerful Spell...Elemental Flame: Double Ultra Fire Blast!
He let out an agonized cry of pain as the sheer force of my attack from point-blank range sent him flying away, the flames roaring fiercely as he crashed onto a row of burning bushes and a tree.
That should take care of him, hopefully. Now, then...

Point-of-View: Rosary Farndrey
———————————————————————————
Tch, this guy is a better fighter than he looks. I suppose I should have expected as much from a Knight Lieutenant.
"Damn it, Elemental-...!" I began, as I sprang back to avoid the slash of his blade.
"Elemental Earth: Stone Shower!" He exclaimed gleefully, firing out a barrage of small rock projectiles at me.
Damn it, I’m too slow to cast Spells compared to him, his chants are so rapid! I sprang away to evade them, grimacing as a few struck my legs, drawing out trickles of blood upon impact, before I shot towards him again.
Overall, he’s stronger than I am, but I’m still superior at close range combat...the only way I can beat him is by getting in close!
I put on a burst of speed as he chanted again, firing out sharp, rapid sparks of lightning at me, doing my best to evade them and grimacing as one struck my left shoulder, my arm stiffening as it electrocuted me, but I didn’t slow down.
I stifled a cry of pain as he chanted to activate an Earth Spell, several pillars of earth bursting out towards me. I managed to avoid any direct hits, but one struck the side of my knee painfully, a few other grazing my sides.
I leapt forward to close in on him, swinging my left arm out to deflect the thrust of his blade with my claws, before driving my right hand towards his neck. He quickly shuffled across, my claws slicing through the armor around his left shoulder, but just barely missing his skin.
As he slashed his blade at me, I swiftly kicked up off his chest, knocking him off balance as the tip of his blade left a shallow cut across the spot just above my waist.
I drove my claws down towards his throat as I plummeted down towards him, before he suddenly let go of his blade and swiftly reached up, grabbing my wrists before I could hit him.
"I’ll blast your hands right off, bitch...now Elemental Lightning:...-agh!" He began, before trailing off with a gasp of pain as something thin and sharp suddenly burst through the right side of his chest and pierced into his right forearm, his grip on my left wrist weakening as a result.
I quickly got my left arm free of his grasp and slashed at his face, grazing across the bridge of his nose as he tilted his head back in alarm...but that’s more than enough, all I need to activate the effect of my Soul Weapon is to break the skin.
A look of shock appeared on his face as his body suddenly got paralyzed, before I wrenched my other arm free from his grip and sprang over him, driving my claws into his lower back as I landed behind him and pulling out a chunk of his spine.
He collapsed onto the ground with an agonized wheeze as blood poured out of his back, unable to move a muscle, but his body trembling at the sheer pain it was wracked with.
"Thanks, I owe you one," I said to Larrk gratefully.
"Sure, don’t mention it, I-...," He began, before suddenly turning around and swinging his whip across, just in time as a fireball closed in on him, "No fucking way, how the hell are you still alive!?"
"I-I’ll admit, that was quite close, too close for my liking," Growled the Knight he’d been fighting, who was completely covered in severe burns, his skin absolutely charred black almost everywhere, most of his armor burnt off as well, "I didn’t think you could cast Ultra level attack Spells, that was my mistake. If I hadn’t activated this healing Magic Item right before impact, I would’ve died instantly."
Streaks of smoke were rising up from his charred skin, a foul stench emanating from his body.
"Yeah, that’s all well and good for you, but, uh...I bet I could knock you down with the flick of a finger in your current state," Scoffed Larrk tauntingly, as the Knight stumbled slightly.
He’s right, that Knight is just barely conscious, standing with nothing but sheer willpower and adrenaline...but he can’t fight anymore. He’s no longer a threat to us-...suddenly, the barrier faded, and I quickly shot towards the bald Knight to finish him off.
Forget capturing them, they’re too strong, not to mention that they’re Nobles, we can’t let word leak that we’ve captured and tortured two Nobles. There’s only one option, we have to kill them before-...!
"Init...iate...Skill:...! Trans...port!" He strained through clenched teeth...a large Magic Circle formed above him, as I halted and sprang back in alarm.
"I’m honored by your sacrifice, Eugene Baldwin. As for the two of you, this...this isn’t over...Initiate Skill: Teleportation...," The burnt Knight uttered weakly, suddenly vanishing away.
The bald guy’s name was Baldwin? Hah! But, uh, we have bigger things to worry about...
"U-uh, so...the good news is that this isn’t a Disastrous Grade Monster, is it?" Remarked Larrk warily, taking an instinctive step back as the creature that had been summoned crushed the Knight underfoot, blood bursting out as it narrowed its eyes at us with a menacing growl.
"Well, you’re not wrong...that right there, is a Catastrophic Grade. A Frost Dragon," I replied with a grimace, as I felt my heart sinking...
