Chapter 114: Chapter 114 - Izzy vs Aries(Part 1)

"I won’t let you get away with this, you killed my subordinates...I’ll make sure that you regret that," Declared the Knight Commander coldly.

"Man, talk about hypocritical. You Knights abuse and kill us Commoners all the time, and then we’re in the wrong for retaliating. Here’s what’s going to happen...we’re gonna beat you within an inch of your life, and then you’re going to answer all my questions, Miss Commander," I shot back, before blasting out a powerful bolt of lightning at her.

She didn’t move, as a couple of her blades moved across and blocked my lightning. This is gonna be tough, she’s in full control of every single one of those sixty blades. I’ve got three minutes left with Intangibility, time to go all out.

Initiate Skill: Limit Br-...!

"Stand back and let me fight her. You can help in the unlikely event that it looks like I’m struggling, but I really want to fight her by myself," Izzy interrupted me, stepping forward with a look of excitement on her face.

"Fine, if you insist," I relented with a sigh, taking a step back.

"I don’t care what you are, thinking that you can face me alone is the height of arrogance...allow me to show you," Remarked the Knight Commander, as she sent several of her blades flying towards Izzy.

Izzy swiftly flew straight up into the air in response, the blades changing direction and chasing after her immediately, forty of them shooting towards her as she zipped across the sky.

The other twenty were hovering around the Knight, ready to defend her at any given moment. That many weapons is just unfair...Soul Weapon Ascension is more powerful than I thought.

That said, Izzy is extremely fast through the air, the blades are slightly slower than her, which means that they can’t catch up. Gotta say though, I’m impressed that she’s being pushed to fly at full speed to avoid the blades, I’ve never seen her do this in a fight before.

I only know what her full speed is because I asked her to show me, and she carried me by the shoulders and took off at full speed, nearly breaking my neck with the whiplash. Yeah, I thought I was going to die.

Anyway, back to the fight...Izzy then rapidly swooped down towards the Knight, having had enough of running away. The Knight swiftly changed her stance and moved the blades around her in the direction that Izzy was barreling down towards her from, as the blades chasing after Izzy continued to do so.

Izzy sharply inhaled as both her hands began crackling with lightning, before firing out massive blasts of lightning from her palms while simultaneously bursting out a scorching wave of flames from her mouth.

The Knight quickly formed a wide shield in front of herself by gathering several of her blades to block the incoming attacks, which struck her blades with immense force, sparks of flames bursting through the gaps between the blades while massive streaks of lightning burst out across the blades as the metal conducted it.

The streaks of lightning struck the buildings and street around it, as I sidestepped a few times to avoid being hit by one. Izzy then swiftly flew up and over the shield of blades, extending out her claws several inches as she fly past the blades and swooped down towards the Knight, who had several small burns all over her body and armor.

She’d burst out a bunch of small lightning Spells around herself to cancel out Izzy’s deflected lightning, to avoid getting zapped...she can still move with burns from flames, but if she’d gotten electrocuted, her movements would’ve been compromised. She made sure to prevent that from happening.

She’s pretty good, and her Soul Weapon is formidable, but she does have a weakness. Her sixty blades are definitely highly effective, but if her opponent does manage to get past the blades and force her into close combat, she has to concentrate on defending herself and can’t afford to spare much focus on controlling all the blades.

As Izzy rapidly flew down towards her, the Knight quickly pulled out a blade-less sword handle from her belt, one of her Soul Weapon blades flying towards her and embedding itself in the handle.

She swiftly swung the blade up and across as Izzy closed in on her and slashed at her with her claws, the claws snapping in half as the blade struck them, the end of the blade slicing through the air towards Izzy’s throat.

Izzy quickly lowered her head and caught the blade between her teeth, before slashing at the Knight with her other hand.

The Knight let go of her blade and sprang back, three deep slashes appearing across the base of her neck and down her chest, several trails of blood trickling down her armor.

The blade then flew back to her, as Izzy immediately shot straight towards her with a powerful flap of her wings.

The Knight caught the blade by the handle and thrust it straight towards Izzy’s heart while having several more of her blades swoop down from behind Izzy, who tilted her body across and let the blade pierce through her left arm, a wide grin across her face.

She’s enjoying this, this is the first time I’ve seen an opponent last this long against her. This Knight Commander is tough, I’d probably have a pretty hard time against her...while I can use Intangibility to slip past her blades, she’s quite skilled at close combat as well, she’s light enough on her feet to evade Izzy multiple times already.

If she just evades me and waits till my time limit with Intangibility runs out, I’ll be in in big trouble. Yeah, I think letting Izzy handle this was the right move.

As the Knight’s blade drove through Izzy’s left arm, she smirked as she swung the back of her right fist towards the Knight, striking the base of the left side of her ribcage with a loud crunch. The Knight let out a wheezing gasp as flecks of blood flew out of her mouth, before the force of Izzy’s strike sent her flying back with immense force.

As the Knight crashed onto and skidded along the street across dozens of meters, cracks spreading out with each time her body struck the asphalt, Izzy unleashed a powerful flap of her wings to jump up and backflip over the incoming blades from behind, evading them as they struck the ground and stuck in, as the Knight came to a screeching halt with a weak groan of pain.

All the blades then flew back towards the Knight, who was struggling to get back onto her feet, coughing out a puddle of blood with a sharp gasp. She reached for the back of her belt and pulled something out...that looks like a Magic Item, probably a healing device.

Sure enough, as she activated it and it began to glow, she managed to get back onto her feet, wiping away the blood around her mouth with her sleeve. Nobles have access to much higher quality Magic Items than Commoners do, and while they’ve got healing Magic Items that aren’t disposable like the ones that are found in towns, there’s a limit to what they can do.

Izzy definitely shattered at least a couple of ribs, no doubt inflicting severe damage to a lung as well...at best, that healing Item might have ensured that the blow wasn’t fatal, but there’s no doubt that she’s still in a lot of pain, her injury far from healed.

"Hey, it’s going to be hard to injure her enough to still interrogate her while avoiding killing her, she was ready to injure herself with her own blades just now," Izzy called out to me.

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing.

"Just try your best to pull it off, and if you can’t, then so be it," I responded with a shrug.

"D-don’t mock me...I’m far from done yet!" Snapped the Knight, as she angled all of her blades in Izzy’s direction, "I’ll admit, you’re strong, and your attacks are powerful. But they’re not enough to kill me, I can block your flames and lightning, and I can survive your physical attacks too. And I can injure you...which means that I can defeat you."

"I’m afraid I must correct your misconception. If I struck you at full force with my fist, you would be dead. And besides, you haven’t seen my real flames," Responded Izzy icily, stepping forward, "You might want to block this with everything you’ve got. I am Izzozon, the daughter of Demon Lord Satan and Plasma Dragon King Frielektra...you should feel honored, there aren’t many humans who have experienced this...my True Dragon Flame!"

Wisps of blue flames flowed out from the sides of Izzy’s jaws, as she threw back her head and snapped forward, firing out a devastating blast of pale blue flames.

The Knight’s eyes widened in alarm, before she quickly gathered all of her blades in front of herself, forming a wall to try and block the incoming flames, which roared towards her at a rapid speed...
