Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 141 - The Capital(Part 9)
Point-of-View: Aries Velenet

I raced through the corridor and leapt out the doors of the entrance to the castle, my eyes widening at the sight before me...dozens of Knights laying dead on the ground, their bodies burnt to a crisp.
And in the sky above, the Demon Lucifer, crying out in pain as she tried to resist the control exerted over her. I glanced down at the control panel connected to the shackles, collar and torso restraints placed on her, the Magic crystals embedded in them violently gleaming.
This is bad, the control over her is shaky and unstable...at this rate, it won’t be long before she breaks free of the control. I tapped on the device to shut it down, her body going limp before plummeting down to the ground and crashing amongst the burnt corpses of the Knights.
She has a powerful resistance ability, but the restraints placed on her injects several needles made of a special crystal that has a continous tranquilizing effect, just like how Enslavement Collars work on even those with powerful resistance Skills.
Adjustments are going to have to be made over the control function, she’s able to resist and push back against it as it is now. From what I’ve been told, resisting against the control results in being wracked with unimaginable pain...but now I see that it also means that if she can bear through the the pain, she can resist the control placed on her.
And since Demons have incredible regenerative powers, if she does break free from the control, any damage the control devices inflict on her will heal almost instantly.
These control devices are still in the prototype phase and this is the first time they’ve been tested...the other four nations in the Dark Continent also have these devices, we’ll have to issue a report on this.
Looks like the young man with the two toned hair and the Half-Demon girl must have gotten away while this Demon was trying to resist the control...the King won’t be happy to hear that, especially since the young man managed to rescue the imprisoned Prince.
When I passed by him, I considered stopping him...it probably wouldn’t have been too difficult while he was carrying the unconscious Prince. But something made me decide against doing that...the devastated look on his face, equal parts anguish and fury.
And the state that the Prince was in...he looked like he was on death’s door, his body in a terribly weak state. Even if he has been defiant to the Royal family after being captured and imprisoned, it doesn’t make sense that they would torture him so brutally.
He’d clearly been healed with a Magic Item, but his body was still in a very severe condition...covered in scars, his skin clinging to his bones, his breathing ragged and weak.
The Knights in charge of guarding the dungeon, only one was still alive, though he had lost an arm. I didn’t have time to question him, I was in a rush to get down to the sixth, hidden level where the Demon was being held...but I should question him when I get the chance, I need to know what happened.
The Royals have likely taken refuge in the safe room in the castle, a near-impenetrable room with a door that can only be opened by the Royals, the lock responds to their Mana...but maybe it’s not as safe as it once was.
The boy with the whip, he should be able to open it too. And the one with the two toned hair...I suspect that he might be the son of Prince Rhyle as well. His expression when I passed him...I can’t imagine that someone would look so devastated over a person they’re simply acquainted with.
It does make sense...setting aside his alliance with the Monster girl, to venture into the capital so brazenly would take a lot of determination and purpose. Looking to save your brother and father would certainly qualify for such a purpose.
They’re probably long gone now, likely out of the capital. Considering the state that the Prince was in, he’ll need medical attention soon or he’ll die before much longer.
I should head for the safe room and let the Royals know that they got away...hm, should I bring up the Prince’s physical condition? No, I better not...I effectively let them get away, if I’d stopped the young man when I passed him by, the Monster girl would likely have remained here as well.
There’s no sense in me taking the blame for what happened, and now more than ever, I can’t afford to be penalized and potentially stripped of my title as Knight Commander, especially with how many Knights have been killed in this battle...there’s far too much that I need to do first.
Now, then, I should take the Demon back down into the dungeon. Once I’ve sealed her back up again, I’ll head for the safe room...

"That must be it, the safe room we’ve heard about...," I muttered, as we glanced around the corner.
We’d managed to blend in so far and avoid being attacked thanks to our disguises, and we questioned some of the maids and slaves we passed by to find out where the Royals might be. A lot of them were quite happy to help, I imagine they haven’t been treated too well by the Royals.
And we were informed about the safe room in the castle, a space that apparently can only be opened by the Royals themselves. If Argent was with us, we might have been able to open the door...there’s a lot of Knights guarding the door to the room, I recognize some of them from our list of targets.
Additionally, a lot of them include the guards who were standing outside the castle and retreated in when Izzozon began attacking. They actually managed to get away from her, huh?
"What should we do? There’s twelve Knights standing guard, I think we should be able to take them, especially since we’ll have the element of surprise thanks to our disguises," Pointed out Phyurio.
"Hm...yeah, let’s do it. We’ve come this far, after all, it’d be a waste to turn back now. That door is apparently impenetrable, but let’s test that out once we deal with these Knights," I suggested, before the two of us stepped around the corner and approached the Knights.
"Hm? Ah, General Laww, good to see you," One of them greeted Phyurio, before turning to me, "And...sorry, I don’t believe we’ve met before?"
"Yes, I arrived here as back up a few moments ago...Lieutenant General John Thompson, at your service," I responded, going with the most generic name I could think of.
"Wait, this doesn’t make sense...General Laww, I saw you being killed by that Monster, your face was burnt off...how are you alive?" Suddenly frowned one of the other Knights in bewilderment, stepping forward.
Uh-oh, he’s not great at adapting when he’s put on the spot like this...
"Well, uh, there’s an explanation for that...," He trailed off, before letting out a sigh and firing out a powerful lightning Spell at the Knight who stepped forward, striking his armor and bursting through his chest, killing him.
"What the hell do you think you’re-...!?" One of the began to snap after a brief, stunned silence.
"Elemental Ice: Icicle Barrage," I chanted with Distance Casting, firing out five icicles from behind the Knights and skewering three of them, two managing to react in time and deflect the projectiles before they could be hit.
"He’s got the Light Attribute, he’s not one of us!"
You’d think me attacking them would’ve given that away already...
"Manifest Soul Weapon: Poison Blade!" One of the Knights exclaimed before he shot towards me.
I let out a sigh and raced towards him in response, and as we closed in on each other and he began to drive his blade towards me...
"Initiate Skill: Switch," I swiftly chanted, swapping placed with another Knight, a choked gasp of pain echoing out behind me as I chanted again as two Knights sprang up on either side of me with their Soul Weapons, a spear and an axe, "Manifest Soul Weapon: Bowblade."
A long, curved blade formed in my hands as I swiftly spun around and raised the blade, deflecting their weapons before springing back...my blade then turned blunt as I took hold of the length, an energy string forming from the tip of the blade to the base of the handle.
I pulled back the string and channeled Mana converted to fire into it, a flaming arrow manifesting across my fingertips to the edge of the blade, before I let loose as I split the flames in two, firing out two rapid flaming projectiles at the Knights.
"H-he’s a Heretic, kill this abomination!"
"Go ahead and try, if you think you can," I responded icily, as I charged up a lightning arrow...
