Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 154 - Reunion(Part 2)
"This is my brother, Argent Stryker. And this is Izzozon...she’s a Monster," I remarked, as Rosary and Prysm stared in bewilderment.
"Uh, are you kidding or...?" Responded Rosary uncertainly.
"No, I’m a Monster, it’s true. See?" Chimed in Izzozon, as she took off her wig and revealed a couple of horns on her head.
Heh, they look pretty unsure as to how to respond.
"Hm, maybe I should’ve mentioned it beforehand...oh, well," I shrugged wryly.
"Hi, nice to meet you two. I really appreciate you keeping my brother company for all this time," Smiled Argent politely.
"Oh, right...the brat here is Prysm Duralles, the one with the Light Attribute I told you about. And this is Rosary Farndrey, a Diamond ranked Adventurer," I introduced them.
"Are either of you especially powerful?" Inquired Izzozon with a hopeful gleam in her eye.
"Huh? Well, uh...I mean, I guess I’d say I’m stronger than most other people," Responded Rosary awkwardly.
"FYI, she easily defeated that Knight Commander while she was using her Soul Weapon Ascension," I informed her.
"Oh...in that case, I doubt I’d fit your definition of powerful," Rosary said to Izzozon wryly.
"And I’m probably the weakest one here, so...," Added Prysm sheepishly.
"Hm, that’s too bad. So, are you the strongest one here?" Izzozon asked me, as she turned her gaze this way.
"Well...I think so, yeah," I replied, after pausing to glance at Rosary.
"Hey, last I checked, I defeated you in our previous duel," She pointed out with a frown.
"True, but I was only using my Dark Attribute Spells, plus I couldn’t use blue flames or my Heretic Spells yet at the time," I countered smugly, before adding, "Well, unless you think you can still defeat me, that is."
"...yeah, fine, you probably are stronger than I am now," She admitted grudgingly.
Oh, I actually wasn’t completely sure about it, despite how much my arsenal has grown recently. She’s definitely still at least a little bit faster than I am, but I guess I have the edge since I’ve got a lot more tricks up my sleeve than she does.
"Wait, you can create blue flames? Humans can do that?" Responded Izzozon in surprise.
"Mhm, sure can," I nodded, as I held up my hand and a Magic Circle appeared, before forming a pale blue flame over my palm.
"Hm...it’s a bit less intense than mine, but it’s still pretty strong," She mused with a look of excitement in her eye.
"You can create blue flames too? Um, what kind of Monster are you?" Prysm asked her.
"Oh, I’m Half-Demon and Half-Dragon King," Came the response.
"Hold on, what!? You’re a hybrid of two of the most powerful Monsters to ever exist!?" Exclaimed Rosary in disbelief.
"Huh, everyone has that same reaction," She replied in bemusement.
"Can’t exactly blame them, you know. Anyway, we should go book a room for ourselves too, we’ll probably be staying in this town for a while," Remarked Argent thoughtfully.
"Before that, let’s go down to the Labyrinth! I wanna fight your brother!" Grinned Izzozon eagerly.
She did seem pretty excited when she saw that I can create blue flames.
"You’ll definitely end up ruining the makeup if you fight, so we should first take care of everything we need to before that. I’ll have to buy more makeup too, for after the fight if necessary when heading back to town-...," He began to reason with her.
"Oh, actually, I could just transport her in my Pocket Dimension. On top of that, we don’t have to go to the Labyrinth on foot...this one here can teleport us," I gestured to Prysm.
"Huh...well, that’s convenient. It’s settled then, we fight first before doing anything else!" Declared Izzozon with a grin.
"Fine, do what you want," He relented with a sigh.
"Wait...first I want to get all this makeup stuff off and change too," She responded, as she picked at the makeup with a frown.
"Feel free to use the bathroom," I nodded at the door to the bathroom, as Argent reached into his backpack and took out some clothes, a sleeveless black top and jeans with one of the pant legs mostly torn off.
"Okay, thank you," She replied, as she took the clothes from him and headed to the bathroom.
Argent let out a sigh of relief as he sat down on the bed with a weary look on his face.
"What’s up? You look kinda worn out," I remarked curiously.
"No, I’m fine, it’s just...she didn’t really understand why clothing is necessary at first, so I’m glad she’s starting to get it," He responded with another sigh.
"Huh...does that mean she was naked around you at first?" I surmised with a smirk.
"N-no, that’s-...no comment," He muttered as he averted his gaze.
Wow, I was mostly just kidding. But it looks like I hit the nail on the head. I guess it makes sense, in a way...like, I’m pretty sure the Dragon Kings don’t wear clothes, not sure about Demons though.
Anyway, it wasn’t much longer before the bathroom door opened and Izzozon stepped out, having washed off all the makeup covering her face and arms, and wearing the outfit Argent had given her.
"Okay, I’m ready now. Let’s go," She remarked, sounding a bit impatient.
"Alright, then I’ll teleport you guys down to the Labyrinth...wait, which floor should we go to?" Prysm asked me.
"Hm...the twenty-eighth floor had a pretty vast space somewhere around the middle of it, if I remember right," I recalled after mulling it over.
"Oh, I think I know the spot you’re talking about, I set a Teleportation Point there. Are we all going down there?" She inquired, looking around at us.
"I should warn you all, if Izzy fights even remotely seriously, avoiding the crossfire won’t be easy," Remarked Argent warily.
"Hey, here’s an idea, why don’t you fight in your Pocket Dimension?" Suggested Rosary objectively.
Yeah, I’d already thought of that. But no.
"Nah, it’s not really suited for that," I shook my head.
Actually, it’d be perfectly suited for a fight...except that there are no shadows in my Pocket Dimension, unless I keep firing out orbs of light up high to briefly cast shadows, but that’d give away what I’m trying to do. Shadow Phase is probably gonna be really important against such a powerful opponent, I can’t afford to not be able to use it.
"Well, I’m definitely coming along, I’m pretty worried about this," Frowned Argent warily.
"I have to admit, I’m quite curious to see how this’ll go...yeah, I’m tagging along too," Decided Rosary after mulling it over.
"Okay, then, everyone, link up," Instructed Prysm, before chanting to activate her Teleportation Skill as we all linked up and a wide Magic Circle formed beneath our feet.
We then found ourselves in the Labyrinth, in a wide open space without many pillars or large rocks jutting out. There aren’t a lot of Monsters that’ll attack in a place like this, most species tend to try and sneak up and attack.
That said, there are a handful of Disastrous Grade Monsters on this floor, we’ll rely on the others to keep them at bay if any show up.
"We should all get as far back as possible," Argent warned Prysm and Rosary, who both nodded and followed after him.
"So, uh, obviously we should try to avoid killing each other. Are you able to heal yourself or anything?" I asked her.
"Yes, I can, I’m able to recover almost instantly from any injury," She nodded in response, before adding, "What about you?"
"Well, I can heal most injuries without a problem, but if I’m, like, decapitated or completely vaporized or something, then I’m definitely dead," I replied sheepishly.
"Hm, I see. I shall refrain from using excessive Dragon Fire, as well as any attacks that would destroy your head," She decided after a brief pause.
"Sounds good, but don’t go too easy on me," I remarked wryly.
"Very well. Alright, let’s get started...you may attack first," Stated Izzozon, as she backed away a few paces and gave me some distance.
"Sure, if you insist," I accepted, before mulling over what I should do.
From what I sensed of her through my Thought Communication, she’s incredibly powerful...it’s pretty likely that she’ll be able to evade anything I throw at her.
Hm, after that, she’ll probably go on the attack...alright, I think I’ve got my opening move planned out. Here goes...I swiftly manifested my whip and rapidly swung it straight towards her, which she easily evaded by sidestepping.
Her wings then spread out and she shot towards me, just as I’d anticipated...I quickly contracted and withdrew my whip back, activating the Black Hole Spell to form it between us.
She abruptly halted in alarm before I quickly sunk into the shadows, the sphere fading away as I dropped through, since I didn’t want to kill her. Her right hand had gotten drawn into the black hole and was torn off when I dissipated the sphere.
For a moment, blood gushed out of it, but almost immediately, her hand started growing back...that’s faster than my own regeneration Spell, it’s not fast enough to be Instant Regeneration though...it must be Ultra High Speed Regeneration.
Looks like she didn’t notice me dropping into my shadow, having been focused on trying to get away from the black hole once she began to get pulled into it. I rapidly floated across towards her shadow as she looked around in confusion, before stiffening and extending out my whip from behind her.
As it shot out from her shadow towards her back, she suddenly reacted and began to move, grimacing as I pierced her through the right arm, a trickle of blood running down as I swiftly drew back my whip, the puncture wound rapidly closing up.
"Hey, you’re pretty good! I hope that’s not all you’ve got!" She exclaimed gleefully, as she spread out her wings and flew up.
Well, she’ll find out soon enough...
