Chapter 155: Chapter 155 - Reunion(Part 3)

Hm, looks like there’s not much else I can do from inside the shadows, not while she’s up in the air. I’ve been firing out some Spells up at her, but she’s easily dodging them.

Since there aren’t any pillars or large rocks nearby in or around this area, the only shadow I can use is hers, which also means that she knows exactly where my attacks are coming from.

Coming out of the shadows will be risky, I’m basically untouchable while down here, but...I won’t benefit from this as much by playing it safe as I would if I took some more risks instead.

Hm, if I emerge from her shadow, she’ll see me coming and be able to react easily, giving me no element of surprise to work with. In that case...

I then fired out lightning bolts up at her from shadow, which she swiftly countered with her own lightning, more powerful than my own attacks, canceling them out and shooting down towards the ground.

Her attacks can’t hit me, but mine aren’t strong or fast enough to hit her either. Alright, then...as I fired out another barrage of lightning bolts, I swiftly zipped across towards where the others were standing, more specifically, towards the only other shadows in this vicinity.

I emerged from behind Argent and Rosary, coming out through their overlapped shadows and startling them as I used Jet Soles and Jet Boost in unison to fly up and zip towards Izzozon.

I activated Magic Eater in my right hand before taking aim with my left hand while I held my whip by the handle between my teeth, and then fired out a large, wide blast of blue flames in her direction, the instant she noticed me.

She quickly countered with her own blue flames, which engulfed and canceled mine out, before continuing on towards me. Damn, that’s some intense heat, and it’s still several meters away from me!

But that’s exactly what I was waiting for...she’s been avoiding using her blue flames all that much during this fight, and even when she has used it, it’s only been in small bursts, likely to avoid killing me.

I’ll use that to my advantage...as her flames roared towards me, I swiftly expanded my Magic Eater as I swung it out in front of me, rapidly swallowing up the incoming flames as they closed in, the air in front and around me shimmering violently as beads of sweat ran down my face.

I then took hold of my whip and swiftly stiffened and extended it out through the flames, before my Magic Eater swallowed it all up and I was still out of her sight. A startled hiss of pain rang out as the flames then faded, revealing the sight of her with my whip pierced through the middle of her torso.

I then swung my arm up at an angle, aiming to slice up her body and across her right shoulder...normally, I’d swing straight up and aim to split her head in half, but since she’s so close to Argent, I shouldn’t inflict any excessively gruesome damage.

She quickly flew back in alarm, narrowly avoiding getting her shoulder split in half but I still managed to leave a deep gash across that spot, blood gushing out before the wound rapidly closed up.

"That really hurt...I’ve never been inflicted with such a deep injury before...," She muttered in bemusement, before a wide smirk spread out across her face, "That was really impressive! You’re a lot more challenging than any other human I’ve fought...come on, let’s keep going!"

"Fine by me," I replied with a grin, before raising my hand and forming a swirling ball of blue flames.

Swallowing up her flames with Magic Eater, this was the real reason I tried to draw her into firing those flames at me...by getting a feel for the structure of her flames, I’ve just perfected my own blue flames!

Elemental Flame: Dragon Fire Inferno!

As I blasted out a massive, intense wave of flames at her, she sharply inhaled before shooting out her own flames in response, a fiery wave of heat bursting out upon impact as our respective flames clashed against each other.

For a moment, my flames began to push back against hers, before the force exerted evened out as she increased her output. She’s starting to push back against me, and I’m already firing at my maximum output...plus I can’t keep this up for much longer anyway. Hm, I wonder if the same trick would work twice?

I raised my whip and rapidly extended it out through the blindingly bright and intense mass of flames, when suddenly, her flames stopped increasing and I spotted her zipping away, before I swung my arm out in her direction the instant I spotted her.

There was a small cut on her side, looks like she was ready for it this time and was able to react before I could inflict a serious blow. She’s so powerful...there’s no way I can defeat her, she’s both stronger and faster than I am, her attacks are more powerful, she heals faster than I do, and then there’s the fact that she’s holding back against me right now.

If she seriously went in for the kill against me, the best I could do is hide in the shadows or in my Pocket Dimension. Although, I’m not fighting entirely at my fullest either...I’ve only used the Black Hole Spell once so far, since I’m not fighting to kill.

As she then fired out a barrage of Negative Energy beams at me, I opened up a portal into my Pocket Dimension before zipping towards her, her eyes widening in surprise before I opened up another portal and sent her beams shooting right back at her.

She flew across to evade them with ease, as a lot of their momentum had died down. As I closed in on her, I unleashed a burst of black mist while simultaneously activating Thought Communication in order to keep track of her.

She immediately began to fly out of the dark cloud, I quickly took aim and extended my whip out towards her, piercing through her right knee right as she flew out of the cloud, before I swung my arm across while simultaneously continuing to extend out my whip at top speed, to prevent her from freeing herself from it.

I slashed off her right leg, which plummeted down and hit the ground with a thud, but it was already growing back rapidly. Hm, her movements...with her speed, she should easily be able to evade all my attacks, but I’ve hit her quite a few times now.

I think I get it...she’s probably never, or at least rarely ever, faced an opponent against whom she’s had to fight seriously. So she isn’t used to having to react quickly...granted, her reaction time is still pretty incredible, but that said, it could be a lot better.

Maybe I do stand a small chance of-...suddenly, my eyes widened in alarm as she appeared right in front of me, her fist drawn back and swirling with Negative Energy. Oh, crap!

I began to fly back while simultaneously opening a portal into my Pocket Dimension in front of myself, but I was too slow. I let out a sharp gasp of pain as a devastating force struck the middle of my torso, the bottom of my ribcage shattering upon impact as I felt several organs rupture.

And the next thing I knew, I was being sent flying back rapidly, shooting towards the ground at a breakneck speed. Right as I closed in on the ground, I activated Shadow Phase with a sense of desperation, dropping into my shadow before my head could hit the ground.

Th-that was close, if my timing had been off by even a fraction of a second, my head would’ve been completely smashed, and I’d be dead. So long as I’m still alive, I can heal any injury...so I could conceivably regenerate even if my heart is torn out, though obviously, I’ve never put that to the test.

But if I lose my head, then that’s it. That must have been her full speed, though it probably wasn’t her full strength that she hit me with. Not sure how I know, but when she struck me, it felt like she was still holding back a bit.

D-damn, this hurts...I healed myself as fast as I possibly could, letting out a strained sigh of relief as the immense, throbbing pain across my torso finally faded.

Hm, the shadows above are converging, looks like the others are approaching her, and she just landed too. Guess this fight’s over. I floated up and emerged from the shadows, sitting on the ground as I spat out some blood that had flown up to my mouth.

"Uh, are you okay? Sorry about that, but when you cut off my leg, the pain got me kinda fired up and I attacked in the heat of the moment," She apologized sheepishly.

"Yeah, that was pretty close, I almost died...," I sighed wistfully, before glancing at her severed leg, "This might be a bit insensitive, but...would you mind if I ate that leg?"

"Huh? Oh, sure, I certainly don’t need it, so go ahead," She nodded indifferently.

"Woah, wait a second, I’m so not okay with that!" Protested Argent in alarm.

"Come on, what’s the big deal? And if she’s okay with it, there shouldn’t be a problem," I argued in response.

Yeah, I’m not passing on this opportunity. Sure, it feels a little weird, but it’s still Demonic Grade Monster meat...there’s no way I’m not eating that!
