Chapter 207: Chapter 207 - Contract(Part 2)

"Ow...he’s yelling in my head," I groaned wearily, before glancing at Izzy, "Hey, he can hear everything I hear, so please elaborate for him."

"Can’t he hear your thoughts and stuff though?" She asked me curiously.

"No, it’s-...ow! Okay, stop, that’s giving me a major headache! Uh, anyway, as I was saying...the Contract may be formed, but it’s not complete yet. According to what he’s saying, as a result of the Contract, I can now enter my own subconscious and converse with him. And I’ll have to in order to stabilize the Contract. We’ll do that later...for now, could you explain why I called you my sister in law?" I sighed wearily.

"Okay...well, I’m not technically married, Uncle, but I do have a lover. He’s Larrk’s older brother, his name is Argent, and he’s the best! He’s always so kind to me, and I really like it when he pats my head, and...!" She grinned, her eye sparkling as she began to rave on about her relationship.

There, happy now? You didn’t have to throw a fit, you know.

’Wha-...? I was not throwing a fit! I was just surprised and caught off guard!’ Responded Azazel indignantly.

If you say so...

’I have to say, she’s really gushing over this brother of yours...’

Yeah, they’re pretty-...w-woah, I feel kinda dizzy...

’Hm...oh, so that’s what’s happening. My Negative Energy and your Mana are fusing, it’s a rather intense process. Don’t worry, you’re in no danger...ordinarily, injecting a human with Negative Energy can be fatal, depending on the quantity and also how much Mana they possess. But since our opposing energies are fusing due to the Contract, my presence in your mind is keeping the fusion stable. But it will wear you out, you will likely lose consciousness soon, and remain unconscious until the process is complete.’

Huh, didn’t know that...guess I’ve learnt something new. Yeah, I’m starting to feel really drowsy...

"Hey, are you okay?" Inquired Izzy with a look of concern, the sounds of several footsteps echoing out as I stumbled back and fell down.

Oh, guess the others are finally catching up...wonder where Sinia and Amber ran off to? They might’ve headed back to the Haven, or gone into one of the other tunnels to warn the others. Eh, doesn’t matter...too sleepy to think...

"Yeah, I’m good...but I’m about to pass out right now. Counting on you to keep me safe," I muttered drowsily, my eyelids slowly drooping shut as they grew heavier and heavier, before everything went dark...

Huh? Wait, didn’t I just pass out? I feel wide awake all of a sudden...

"Alright, we’ve got work to do. The Contract is established and my presence inside of you is secure. However, the Negative Energy and Demonic life force that’s fusing with your Mana and human life force will spiral out of control if left as it is. So, let’s begin channeling the energy into specific functions," Came Azazel’s voice.

"Wha...? Ohh, I get it, we’re inside my mind, aren’t we? Man, this is kinda freaky...it’s a black void, is that bad?" I inquired in bemusement.

"I don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter. Since my existence is now tied to this body, it’s in my best interest to make sure it doesn’t die prematurely. To begin with, let’s implement my passive abilities into your body using the energy. That includes Ultra High Speed Regeneration, Super Strength, Super Speed, Enhanced Durability and High Level Resistance," He surmised, as I felt the flow of energy.

This feels kinda trippy.

"Actually, I possess Universal Resistance already, so I don’t need High Level Resistance," I informed him.

"Oh, I see. Then I’ll implement the other-...hm? Wait, I can’t...at least, not fully. Super High Speed Regeneration is passively active, so any injuries will heal automatically. Your physical strength, speed and durability will also increase significantly. But I cannot permanently bestow the full extent of those abilities to your body. Instead, you can only use them for a brief period of time when you use the Contract to transform," He explained, as I felt the flow of energy muddle slightly for a moment before regaining control as he figured it out.

"I actually could already use Super High Speed Regeneration, but that said, having it kick in automatically instead of having to cast it will make a big difference. What about your Exploding Fists ability?" I asked him.

"You’ll be able to use it in your normal state, but the explosions likely won’t be as powerful. Using the Contract’s transformation ability will give you access to my full power, however, it won’t be easy to control or maintain. So, at present, you will likely only have access to weakened versions of my abilities in your normal form.

It will be some time before you can control my full power, you will need to train constantly. Besides Exploding Fists, you can also extend your claws, control and discharge Negative Energy and use Sonic Screech. Oh, you already possess a similar technique-...wait, now that I think about it, you used many abilities in our fight that I’ve never seen a human use before," He recalled in intrigue.

"Yeah, I’ve gained some abilities from eating Monsters. And I’ve also created my own original Spells," I explained, as I mulled over everything he said and added, "Hey, if I can’t control your full power at present, would it be possible for you to take over and fight instead? If we come across a super powerful enemy, something like a Dragon King or an Elder Vampire, that’d be super useful."

"Hm...yes, I think that would be possible. But it would require channeling some of the energy for that purpose, which would mean sacrificing one or two of my abilities, and even then, you would only be able to turn control over to me for a few minutes or so, since your consciousness is the primary presence inside your mind," He informed me.

"I see...okay, then. Would forgoing your Sonic Screech power be enough?" I inquired after a brief pause.

"Well, er-...wait, are you sure about this? Aren’t you afraid that I might steal control of your body from you or something?"

"No, not really. I mean, you wouldn’t do that, right?" I pointed out objectively.

"Well, no, I wouldn’t...I don’t think it would be possible anyway. Since we formed a mutually agreed-upon Contract, it’s unlikely that I’d be able to steal control from you, it’d only be possible if you give me control. And like I said before, I’d probably only be able to maintain that control for a short while...I’ll ask you again, are you really sure about this?"

"Yeah, I’m sure. Let’s keep going with the customization, this is kinda fun!" I grinned.

This reminds me of my reincarnation, picking my Skills and stuff was pretty fun.

"You really are a strange one, aren’t you?"
