Chapter 209: Chapter 209 - Contract(Part 4)

"Wait, for real?"

"Yes, I’m quite certain. Since your body was already somewhat superhuman from eating Monsters, you’ve grown significantly more powerful through this Contract than normal humans presumably would. As a result...it may be possible for you to form a second Contract with another Monster. However, another Demon, or a Dragon King or Elder Vampire, might be too powerful to sustain inside of you along with myself," He informed me.

"Well...just because I can form another Contract doesn’t mean that I’ll get the opportunity to do so. It’s incredibly rare, I might even be the only human currently in existence with a genuine Monster Contract, so getting the chance to obtain a second Contract is pretty slim at best," I replied wryly.

"Quite likely, yes. On another note...there’s a tiny amount of spare energy remaining, and I have a suggestion on what to use it for. We can’t use it for anything major anyway, so I’d like to use it to give me the ability to block out your senses. As things are now, I see, hear, smell, taste and feel everything that you do, which is fine...but I would prefer not to be linked to your senses at all times. Such as when you need to relieve yourself or are having a sexual encounter with someone, or-..."

"O-oh, crap, I didn’t even think of that...yeah, I definitely wouldn’t be able to focus while getting down and dirty if I know that you can sense everything I’m doing," I shuddered in horror.

"Yes, that would be quite traumatizing."

"Okay, then we’re in agreement over how to utilize that last bit of energy. By the way, how long have I been unconscious?" I inquired, feeling like I’d been in here for ages.

"Hm, let me see...if I’m not mistaken, I believe it’s been about six days or so." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Huh?

"W-wait, I thought you said it’d just take a couple of days?" I responded in bemusement.

"I underestimated, my mistake. But it’s almost over, it shouldn’t be much longer now."

It’s almost been a whole week? I’ve barely felt the time pass...I mean, it’s certainly felt like I’ve been in here a long time, but it’s felt more like a few hours, not days!

"Well, it is what it is, I guess, no point in complaining about it. Wanna play a game?" I suggested wryly.

"Sure, sounds good."

In addition to being able to view my memories, I’ve also given him the ability to create things inside my subconscious. Well, not literally create, more like manifest the concept of what he wants to create.

I gave up on a bunch of minor abilities he had that I deemed redundant or that weren’t particularly necessary, which gave us a decent amount of surplus energy to work with...he can manifest a variety of board games, a gaming console, books and other stuff just by thinking of it.

Though, the video games couldn’t be too complex, it would’ve taken more energy than we had to spare. For example, I’ve included some fighting games, he can use the 1-V-1 option but no story mode option, that would require extracting an immense amount of information from my memories.

He hasn’t complained though, he actually seems to be really enjoying the games. And even though I’ve been in here for the past six days, it’s been fun. Still though...I’d like to wake up soon, I want to test out my new abilities ASAP.

"Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I’ve finally got a sense for how my energy has affected your weapon. Specifically, it can now..."

Point-of-View: Argent Stryker

"Wait, it’s really that simple? Just charge your Mana into your Soul Weapon and that’s all it takes?" I remarked in surprise.

"Y-yeah, that’s right...but it still takes a...a lot of work to...to master. Plus...I might have had...a bit of an advantage, or maybe it’s more of a...a head start, since my Soul Weapon operates...by channeling...Mana into it," Ilex yawned sleepily in response, his voice wracked with fatigue and exhaustion, he sounds almost half-asleep.

Today’s the 25th of Martius, 2020, about a week after the operation to deal with the Haven’s Monster problem.

Larrk is still unconscious, though his condition is stable enough. I found his phone in his hut earlier today, this whole time we’d thought it was in his Pocket Dimension.

I’d asked him to keep mine in there, so I couldn’t use my phone. When I went to check in on him today, I spotted his phone under his pillow. Don’t know why he kept it there, but at least we can finally contact our friends on the outside again.

Which is what I’m currently doing. I already spoke to Gior, I heard about the attacks from the True Nobility that had taken place around the same time as the Haven’s operation to take out the invasive Monsters.

Fortunately, dad wasn’t affected by the attack in Cusch Town, the attacking Monsters didn’t make it to the basement of the hospital where he’s being hidden in. But he’s still in a coma, so nothing’s changed on that end.

I then contacted Rosary, who informed me that Kieph Town had also repelled the Monsters that attacked them. And now, I was talking to Ilex, who had complained about what he went through, and had just gotten finished telling me about the method required to achieve and trigger Soul Weapon Ascension.

"By the way, you sound crazy exhausted...are you okay?" I asked him in concern.

"Yeah...I’m fine. Just so...so tired. The Knights are...helping me train...to master my Ascension. I can’t get into specifics, but...the method they’re using is so draining. I don’t want to talk about it anymore, it’s hell...anything happen wherever you guys are?" He inquired with a fatigued yawn.

"Uh, I guess you could say that...Larrk formed a Contract with a Demon for one thing," I informed him.

"Oh...that’s unbelievable...," He muttered quietly, his voice trailing off...before the sound of snores echoed out through the speaker.

Did he just...fall asleep? Man, Gior and Rosary had such great reactions to that bit of info, it was hilarious...I was looking forward to seeing how he reacts too. Guess I’ll call him back another time, he seems incredibly exhausted...
