"Your resistance is pitiful! Lower your head and let us execute you with dignity!"

"Yeah, at least be a true Noble in death, we’re willing to grant you that honor!"

"D-do we have to kill her right away? Maybe we can first have some fun with her and then finish her off, in more ways than one, if you catch my drift..."

"A tempting idea, but she’s too dangerous to take that chance on..."

"Aw, that’s too bad."

I let out a sigh as I got back onto my feet and dusted myself off, before using my six floating blades as a shield in front of myself as one of them fired out a lightning bolt at me, blocking the Spell and dissipating it. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"I’ll admit, fighting four opponents, two of whom possess Contracts, is tough. But, I have to say...is this it? Is this all you can do even with those Contracts? It’s frustrating, to think I have to go all out against the likes of you. Oh, well...Soul Weapon Ascension: Justice Shards, Tenfold!" I exclaimed, manifesting sixty floating blades around me.

"Is that supposed to scare us?"

"I don’t know, those are a lot of blades."

"Don’t be a coward, we can handle this."

"So, what if you increased the number of your blades? It won’t make a diff-..."

The rest of what they said was drowned out as I sent all sixty of my blades shooting towards them with immense speed, piercing and tearing through their bodies brutally as blood burst out and splattered the ground, their bodies reduced to a pile of chunks in a matter of seconds, as I reverted my Soul Weapon back to its base form once I was done chopping them up.

About an hour had passed since the attack began, it all happened so suddenly, they somehow infiltrated the protective barriers. They must have had an inside man with some kind of Portal or Teleportation Skill.

I was outside the entrance to the castle, tasked with keeping the Royal family safe. The enemy is large in number, but low in actual skill. That said, there’s so many of them that the Knight Order can’t cover the entire capital, there are some areas that are unmanned.

I’ve already gotten several reports of civilian casualties, but my hands are tied, I can’t desert my post and leave the castle unguarded. If the so-called True Nobility manage to take over the castle, it’s likely that many members of the Knight Order will lose their will to fight.

I know that some of them are still on the fence about the new values and ideals I’ve been instilling into the Knight Order, if the True Nobility succeeds and takes over the castle, it’s quite possible that some of my subordinates will defect to their side. And I can’t afford to let that happen.

"Commander! Are you alright?" A Knight called out to me, as he came running around the corner.

"Yes, I’m fine. What’s the situation across the rest of the city?" I inquired, keeping my eyes peeled and looking around warily.

"The areas where we have posts set up are mostly secure, but the areas with fewer or no Knights present are in dire straits, these bastard are attacking anyone they come across indiscriminately."

"Damn it, for all their talk of ’True Nobility’, they certainly have no problem killing other Nobles, do they?" I responded with a grimace, clenching my fists as I added, "Inform the Knights who’ve secured the areas they were posted at, to go to the areas under attack and take down the assailants."

"Understood, I’ll go relay your command to the others right away," He nodded, before hurrying away to go get that done.

As he approached the corner, my eyes widened in alarm...

"Hold on, get back!" I yelled, but my warning came too late, as a golden spear came shooting out from around the corner and struck his chest...and turned his entire body to gold.

"Hahaha, no matter how many times I use it, it’s as magnificent as ever! Who could ask for a more brilliant death, being turned into the purest of gold!" Came a familiar voice, as a familiar figure came strolling around the corner, along with a couple of others.

"Well, this is a surprise...I can’t believe a coward like you has taken to the front lines of this battle. It’s been some time, former Prince Drakkar," I greeted him venomously, not very subtly emphasizing the word ’former’.

"Why, you...tch, I won’t fall for your provocations, bitch. I have come to take my rightful place on the throne, my brother is clearly in over his head, so I shall most graciously relieve him of that burden. I’ll give you one warning...step aside and let us pass, and I’ll let you live on as my personal sex slave. Refuse, and you shall die where you stand," He declared as he brandished his spear at me.

First those guys earlier and now him, how are they so lustful in the middle of a battle like this?

"Hm. How terrifying. But scum like you has no authority over me. If you want to get into the castle, you’ll need to get through me...so, come on, get closer. Get closer so that I can kill you," I shot back with a taunting smirk, pointing my six floating blades at him.

"H-how dare you...!? Very well, then, you’ll regret this...you two, take her down! But don’t kill her, not yet...break her limbs or otherwise incapacitate her one way or another, I’ll teach her a lesson before killing her myself. Her head turned to gold will be a nice ornament to mount above my throne," Growled Drakkar, eyeing my body lustfully as his two lackeys stepped forward and began to approach me...
