Chapter 245: Chapter 245 - Obsidian Civil War(Part 10)

"Ah, I remember you. You’re Mysst, aren’t you? The one with the odd and bizarre Soul Weapon? Looks like you’ve been made a Captain too, congratulations. Now, unless you want to end up like he did, I advise you to surrender and join us. You can’t defeat me, as is clearly evident in front of you, I’m well above the level of you so-called Captains!" A man declared gleefully as he approached me.

"I see...then I take it you’re the one who did this?" I inquired quietly, clenching my fists as I stared down at Lynks’s corpse, laying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Yes, indeed I did. Allow me to introduce myself...my name is Alist-...," He began with a smirk.

"I don’t care. I’m going to kill you...now, open, Gravity Dimension," I chanted, a massive portal opening up and swallowing both me and him.

"What the...?" He muttered warily.

"It’s over. Die," I remarked, forming a rock blade as I strolled towards him.

He began to try and back away, his eyes widening as he noticed how slow his movements were, before his knees buckled and he collapsed, unable to stay standing...

"What...is...this...?" He gasped, straining against the force pushing him down.

"The gravitational pull on your body is currently ten times greater than normal. It’s hard to move, isn’t it? You shouldn’t have underestimated me, you bastard...despite the impression I seem to give off, I’m the most powerful of the Knight Captains," I informed him coldly, before driving my rock blade towards his throat.

"C-Contract: Bulwark!" He quickly chanted in alarm, my blade striking his neck...and snapping in half upon impact, before I quickly sprang back as he fired out a bolt of lightning at me.

His entire body looked like it was made out of rock...Bulwark, if I’m not mistaken, that’s a Demonic Grade Monster that’s said to have the most powerful defense, its skin can’t be penetrated by anything.

"How annoying..."

"That was close...I’ll admit I underestimated you, your Soul Weapon is powerful, no doubt about that. I can’t move at all in this dimension of yours...but it’s fine. You can’t keep this up forever, can you? I can still use my Magic, and while I’m using my Contract, you can’t inflict any damage on me!" He declared triumphantly.

"Apparently so. But that’s fine, I’ll kill you all the same. Let me explain something about my Soul Weapon...the dimensions I create, they work best against those with lower Mana Capacities in comparison to mine. Those with greater Mana Capacities are able to break free...and another thing, my Soul Weapon gives me the ability to assess whether or not someone’s Mana Capacity is greater than or lower than mine. And yours is a fair bit lower."

"S-so, what if it is!? I just need to wait this out, until you can longer maintain this dimension! When that happens, I’ll-...!" He began to snap.

"Allow me to correct your misconception...these dimensions I create, they really don’t consume all that much Mana, you see. But I can tell, your Contract drains your Mana quite rapidly, doesn’t it? Your Mana Capacity is decent enough, so you should be able to maintain it for about half an hour or so, is that right? Not bad, but that’s not going to be enough to outlast me...let’s turn things up, shall we? Soul Weapon Ascension: Forbidden Dimensions. And now, open, Vacuum Dimension," I chanted with a murderous glare, switching to a different dimension.

"Wh-wha...!?" He began in alarm, before cutting off as he started suffocating.

I hate using my Soul Weapon Ascension, no one knows that I’ve achieved it, not even the Commander. I can only use it for a minute at most, as it drains a tremendous amount of Mana, and it takes a toll on my body afterwards too. However, once I activate it, my victory is effectively guaranteed.

"Having trouble breathing? Except for the area right around me, there’s no air in this dimension. Well, I suppose there’s no point in saying any of this, since you can’t hear me. Not to mention the fact that you’re already dead," I remarked, as the effects of his Contract wore off, his face and body bloating up.

I then switched back to my Gravity Dimension, grimacing as I felt a splitting headache erupt across my head and throbbing aches across my body...that was only a few seconds, but the toll is still this severe. This is exactly why I hate using Ascension so much.

Now, then, I’m taking no chances, time to make sure he’s good and dead. I formed another rock blade and walked over towards his bloated corpse, before stabbing him through the throat, followed by the heart, and then decapitating him for good measure.

But I didn’t stop there, I slashed and chopped his limbs to pieces, my rage burning inside me as I reduced his entire body to a bloody pile of meat chunks, before stepping back and blasting flames at the pile of flesh, setting it ablaze.

I then exited my Gravity Dimension, along with the burning pile of meat, returning to the regular world, to see Ilex standing over Lynks’s corpse with an anguished, enraged look on his face.

"I’m sorry...if I’d gotten here sooner, I might have been able to prevent this," I said with a bitter grimace.

"Who...who did this?"

"Over there," I replied, pointing at the smoldering pile of flesh.

"I...I see. Come on, let’s go...we need to kill every last one of these bastards. No matter what, I won’t spare a single one of them."

"Yeah...I have no objections to that. None, whatsoever."
