Chapter 246: Chapter 246 - Obsidian Civil War(Part 11)

I slashed at our opponent with my claws as I closed in on her, which she easily ducked under before driving her pincers towards me stomach rapidly.

I sprang back as quickly as I could, grimacing as the tips of her pincers tore through my leather armor and nicked my skin, drawing out a trickle of blood.

She then sprang up as Rayven sent the sludge of his Soul Weapon rapidly extending out towards her, the slimy mass taking a narrow, sharp shape as he aimed to pierce her.

She easily evaded it before firing out a bolt of lightning at him, forcing him to leap away to avoid it. She then shot towards him with immense speed as she landed, I chased after her in response but she was much faster, already starting to close in on him.

He quickly fired out a slimy slash at her with his Soul Weapon, which she dissipated with a violent swipe of her pincers, before leaping straight towards him and snapping her pincers towards his neck.

He tilted his body back in alarm, the claws grazing the skin on his neck before he formed his Soul Weapon in the shape of a hammer and swung it across towards her with immense force.

As she sprang back to evade it, I closed in on her from behind and drove my claws towards her back, striking her exoskeleton-like armor...before my claws bounced off with a clang, only slightly denting her armor.

"It’s useless, you filthy Commoners! You can’t break through my armor! I’ve let you attack me for long enough, you’ve had your chance...it’s time I get serious!" She declared venomously, before whipping her stinger across towards my head.

I quickly jumped back as fast as I could, the tip of the stinger slicing across the bridge of my nose painfully as Rayven sprang up front of her, forming a sphere with spikes using his Soul Weapon and swinging it down at her.

She caught it with her pincers before slamming her foot onto his stomach and sending him flying back, crashing onto the side of a building with a sharp gasp of pain, slumping onto his knees as I chanted and unleashed a barrage of fireballs at her.

She countered with her own fireballs, canceling mine out before racing in towards me rapidly. I activated my Bind Skill, sending six golden chains shooting out towards her, but she easily evaded then, before springing forward to close the remaining distance, driving one of her pincers towards my chest as she closed in.

I quickly spun across to evade a fatal blow, letting out a stifled hiss of pain as she left a deep gash across my left arm, before I fired out streaks of lightning from my right hand at her.

My lightning struck her, but didn’t have much of an effect, her armor absorbing the attack before she swung her stinger across at my legs, striking the side of right leg before I could react and sweeping across, knocking me off-balance.

My right shoulder hit the ground with a painful thud, before she kicked my chest to knock me onto my back, and then swiftly stomped down on the middle of my torso to keep me pinned down before I could get back up.

D-damn it, she’s too fast, I-I can’t keep up...

"Finally, where you belong, under my foot like the insect you are. And now, it’s time for you to die, Commoner wench," She smirked down at me sadistically, as she raised her stinger, pointing it down towards my face with a gleefully murderous look in her eyes.

As she drove her stinger down towards me, I spotted a rapid blur in my peripheral racing this way, slamming into her and knocking her off me before the sound of flesh tearing and bones breaking echoed out.

I stared up in horror as blood splattered down onto me following an agonized cough of pain...my heart began pounding as I let out a quiet, horrified gasp, my lower lip quivering as my entire body began trembling, tears welling up in my eyes...

"H-hey, sis...you okay?" Inquired Rayven weakly, a slight smile on his face as blood trickled down the sides of his mouth, the woman’s stinger pierced through his stomach from behind.

"N-no, this c-can’t be happ-...," I began in despair, before he suddenly vanished from my sight, as she swung her stinger across, sliding him off of it and throwing him onto the ground in front of her.

"Y-you fucking bi-...," He began with a defiant glare, before she cut him off by driving one of her pincers down, piercing through his the middle of his face and violently twisting the pincer across with a squelch before sharply yanking it back out.

"That’s one down. Guess he couldn’t wait his turn, how impatient. Now, let’s get back to finishing you off, shall we?" She chuckled as she began to walk towards me, her pincer slick with my brother’s blood and dripping onto the ground, leaving a trail of blood drops behind her as she approached me.

As tears of sorrow and rage streamed down my face, my heart feeling like it was about to pound right out of my chest, something snapped inside me...my heart and mind were burning with fury and hatred, and yet, I felt eerily calm.

There was only one thing on my mind, a single, burning desire...the desire to kill this woman, nothing else mattered to me. That’s all I want...I want her fucking dead!

"It’s strange...," I muttered as I started to get back onto my feet.

"Hm? Ah, last words, is it? I suppose I can be generous and allow you that mercy. Do tell, what’s so strange, Commoner scum?"

"I’ve been working on this for a few weeks now, but I haven’t succeeded even once yet...despite that, right now, I feel like I can do it..."

"What are you going on about? Perhaps seeing this one die broke your brain. Alright, then, allow me to put you out of your misery!"

"Soul Weapon Ascension: Venom Armor."
