Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 251 - Obsidian Civil War(Part 16)
Point-of-View: Aries Velenet

"You really aren’t very smart, are you, former Prince Drakkar? Most of your followers that you’ve led into this war have no idea how to fight, you’ve just pointlessly led them straight to their deaths," I remarked, as I tossed the decapitated heads of his subordinates towards him.
"H-how can this be!? Both of them had Contracts! Y-you did not even use your Soul Weapon Ascension," Stuttered the former Prince in horror, stumbling back.
"Yes, because they weren’t strong enough to make me use it. What, are you just going to run away now?" I taunted him, as I approached him.
"Wh-who do you think I am!? How...how dare you speak to me like this, you bitch!?" He snapped furiously, before chanting, "Manifest Soul Weapon: Golden Spear! And now, Contract: Hieracosphinx!"
He’s so easy to provoke.
"Soul Weapon Ascension: Justice Shards, Tenfold," I chanted as he began to tranform.
Golden brown fur sprouted across his body as his limbs grew muscular, his head and face morphing to resemble that of an eagle, with a mane of fur around his head.
He leapt towards me with a roar as he finished transforming, driving his spear straight towards me. I formed a wall of five blades in front of myself to block his thrust, a loud clang echoing out as the tip of his spear crashed onto my wall of blades, before I sent six more blades shooting in towards him from behind and on either side.
He swung his spear across in alarm, yelping in pain as he deflected a few of them but two of my blades slashed across his sides and left deep gashes there, as one pierced into his left shoulder and got embedded inside, eliciting an excruciated scream from him.
He sprang back and yanked the blade out of his shoulder with an agonized yell, before his eyes widened in horror as I sent two more of my blades shooting towards him.
He managed to deflect them with his spear, before leaping away in alarm as I sent several blades raining down towards him from above, cries of pain ringing out from him as I gave him a few more gashes across his legs, one of my blades striking the right side of his lower back and getting lodged into his flesh.
He’s pretty fast with his Contract in effect, but he’s too unskilled to make any good use of that speed. It does seem to be the case that he’s been trained recently, but at his current ability level, he’s still below even the lowest ranked members of my Knight Order.
Now, then, I think that’s enough testing the waters, it’s time to go in for the kill. He’s done far too much damage to be allowed to live.
I fired out a barrage of lightning bolts at him as I sent several of my blades converging in towards him from multiple directions, before he formed blocks of earth around himself and struck the blocks with his spear, turning them to gold.
He sprinted away in desperation as his earth blocks briefly slowed down my blades, while I sent several more of my blades chasing after him rapidly.
He formed more chunks of earth to block my attacks, striking them with his spear to turn them to gold to make for a stronger defense, but his Spellcasting was at far too low a level to defend against my Soul Weapon Ascension.
My blades tore through his defenses, before he let out an excruciating scream of agony as two of my blades sliced through his left shoulder and slashed his arm right off, blood gushing out as it thudded onto the ground, the spray of blood splattering across the ground as he collapsed onto his knees, several of my blades surrounding him as he went down, hovering in the air around him.
"I’ll be frank, I’m going to take great pleasure in killing you, former Prince Drakkar. Any last words, you insufferable prick?" I inquired icily, as I walked over towards him.
"Y-you bitch...!"
"My Prince!" Suddenly came a voice from my left, as I glanced that way to see three members of the True Nobility, right as they fired Spells at me.
I formed a defensive wall of blades to block their Spells, before sending ten of my blades shooting towards them.
"I-Initiate Skill: Smokescreen!" Cried Drakkar, a burst of black smoke exploding around him, before several rock projectiles came shooting out from the cloud of smoke.
I quickly blocked the rocks shooting towards me before sending several blades flying into the smoke, while simultaneously surrounding the three that had shown up and tearing them apart with my blades, their screams of pain fading fast.
My eyes then widened in surprise as the smoke cloud began to clear, with no sign of Drakkar in sight...I then frowned as I noticed that there was a manhole on the ground by where he’d been, and it was slightly open.
Damn it, he must have gone down there to try and escape...should I chase after him? No, that’s too risky...with his Soul Weapon, chasing him blindly would be dangerous.
Well, no matter...he’s lost a lot of blood, he may well die of blood loss before long. And we’ve decimated his forces, if the groups that attacked the towns are of the same level as those who attacked the capital, I can’t imagine that the Adventurers and the Captains I’d had stationed in the towns having too much trouble.
It’s a shame that he got away, I’d have dearly loved to have finished him off with my own hands...
