Chapter 252: Chapter 252 - Obsidian Civil War(Part 17)

Point-of-View: Drakkar Dianus

D-damn it...damn it, th-that fucking bitch, how dare she do this to me!? She cut off m-my arm, I-I had to burn the wound to stop the bleeding, it hurts...it hurts so much, I don’t deserve this!

All I wanted was my rightful place on the throne, I am the rightful King of this nation! Wh-who...who is she to deny me that!? I’ll kill her...I swear, this isn’t over, I’ll be back before long!

A-and then, she’ll be sorry...they’ll all be sorry! I will take back what belongs to me, and all those who dares oppose me will die!

I can’t believe this...me, of all people, having to sneak through these disgusting sewers, like some rat! What am I, a Commoner!?

I just need to get out of the capital, I’m sure the towns have been taken over by my loyal subjects...but their victory will ring hollow if they learn that I, their great leader, has been killed.

I must survive, to inspire their hopes and carry on our fight!

I then climbed up towards a manhole cover, wincing in agony as immense pain throbbed throughout my entire body, before slowly pushing the metal disk open as quietly as possible, peering out cautiously.

Tch, I’m in some filthy alley...however, I can see the outer walls, I must be close to the border of the capital. Good, I can make my escape...

I climbed up and headed to the entrance of the alley, to get a better look...ah, excellent, I’m right by the south gates, just a few dozen meters up ahead.

It must be fate, to have found my way out so easily...good, I only see two guards. I’ll overwhelm and kill them, and then make my retreat.

"C...Contract: Hieracosphinx," I chanted quietly, before chanting again to manifest my Soul Weapon.

I then bent my knees and leapt forward with all the strength I could muster, twinges of pain erupting from the numerous wounds I’d sustained as I shot several meters forward through the air, but I ignored the pain, letting out a righteous roar as I landed and raced forward as fast as I could.

"What the...!? You, you’re-...!" Began one of the guards in alarm, starting to form a ball of flames before I drove my spear straight towards him, striking the middle of his chest and turning him to gold, killing him.

"You bastard!" Snapped the other guard, swiftly chanting to form a Soul Weapon, a long, curved blade and slashing at my head.

I quickly tilted my head back, before crying out as the tip of his blade sliced through my left eye, before gritting my teeth and swinging my spear across at the impudent swine, cutting across his abdomen and turning him to gold.

I then slashed at the gates to cut an opening to escape through, running out triumphantly. My vision blurred as I ran out the gates, the effects of my Contract fading and my Soul Weapon disappearing.

"I...I did it. I made my escape...enjoy your victory while you can, Landis, because it will be short-lived. Before much longer, I will return and take what is rightfully mine! I am Drakkar Dianus, the one, true King of-...!" I declared, before abruptly trailing off as I felt immense pain slicing across my legs, falling forward and collapsing onto the ground painfully.

H-huh? M-my...my legs...they’ve been sliced off!

"Ah, so you’re Drakkar Dianus, are you? Great, talk about lucky on my part...see, I’ve been hoping to meet you for a while now. Hey, Prysm, teleport us somewhere secluded, I’d like to take my time with this."

Wh-who is that!?

"Yeah, okay. Doesn’t look like he’s got any fight left in him, but don’t let your guard down," A girl’s voice responded, as I felt a hand on my back...before my surroundings suddenly changed...

Point-of-View: Argent Stryker

"Nice to meet you, uncle. I’m Argent Stryker, the son of Rhyle Stryker, your brother. You know, your brother who you tortured for years," I remarked coldly, kicking his side to flip him over before stomping down on his chest.

"G-get your filthy foot off me, scum...you’re an abomination, Royal blood tainted with that of a Commoner wench! You have no right to-...!" He began to snap, before I cut him by slashing his other arm off, eliciting an excruciating scream of pain from him.

"Don’t you fucking talk about my mother like that, you piece of shit asshole. Now, considering the shit you’ve pulled over these past few months, I’m sure there are dozens of people who are itching to take your head off, people who’ve lost loved ones because of your actions.

So, I’m honored...I’m honored that I’m the one who gets to enjoy the pleasure of killing you. Tell me, how does it feel? To be so helpless in the face of certain death? To be at the mercy of someone who has no intention of showing you any mercy? Well? Tell me, I’d really like to know...how do you feel right now, you bastard?" I inquired in a cold fury, as the memories of seeing the state my father was in when I rescued him from the Royal prison flashed through my mind.

"I-I...I will not-...!" He began with a defiant, hateful look on his face, before I interrupted him with a swift slash of my blade, the tip of my blade swinging into his mouth and slicing his tongue off.

"You know, what? I actually don’t care, I have no interest in anything you might have to say," I scoffed in disgust as he screeched in pain, flecks of blood spraying out of his mouth as I raised one of my blades up high, adding as I met his gaze and swung my blade down at his back, "Just fucking die."

His screams faded as I slashed through his throat, blood gushing out as his body went limp, the blood pooling around his head as the light in his eye dimmed and faded...
