Point-of-View: Argent Stryker

"Wow, uh...wow. I’m kind of speechless, I really don’t know what to say to all that...just, wow," Remarked dad in bewilderment.

"I know, it’s a lot. Anyway, after that, I came across that Drakkar bastard, lucky me, and I killed him. Though, if I’d known that you were about to wake up, I would’ve kept him alive long enough for you to get a few hits in before putting him out of his misery. If nothing else, I did make sure he didn’t die a painless death," I replied with a wry smile.

"I see...then, he’s truly dead? It’s a shame he turned out the way he did...we actually got along quite well when we were kids, but he started to change for the worse as we got older. And to think that Landis is the King now...it does sound like he’s done a lot of good since ascending to the throne, though knowing him, he’s probably got some kind of scheme in mind," He sighed in response.

"If that’s the case, I just hope it isn’t something too disastrous. But things definitely have progressed for the better lately, so as long as whatever scheme he has doesn’t undo any of that progress, I’m fine with that. And the Knight Order is a big reason why we’ve made so much good progress lately, they’ve played a big part in that happening."

"Honestly, I still can’t quite wrap my head around that...the fact that the Knight Order now actually fights for justice instead of abusing their power as they see fit," He replied with a bemused look on his face.

"Yeah, for a while, I was suspicious that it was just an act, that they were plotting something. But now, I doubt that’s the case...they even helped with the rebuilding efforts in the towns," I informed him, before adding sheepishly, "Not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous about telling you that my girlfriend is a a half Demon, half Dragon, I wasn’t sure how you’d react."

"I mean, I’m definitely surprised, no doubt about that. But you clearly care deeply for her, that was very clear just by the way you talk about her. Not to mention the fact that I would probably have died in that dungeon if she hadn’t helped you free me, and you also mentioned that she’s saved you a few times. Taking all that into consideration, the fact that she’s a Monster is irrelevant as far as I’m concerned," He responded assuringly, as he placed a hand on my shoulder and added, "You must be beside yourself with worry right now, with both her and Larrk currently missing."

"Yeah...I can’t help but think that something bad might’ve happened to them. They’re both insanely powerful, but still, I-...," I began with a frown, before trailing off as my phone started ringing.

"It’s amazing how small phones have gotten, they used to be the size of bricks when I last saw one," He remarked as I took out my phone, before my eyes widened as I saw the caller ID...

"It’s Larrk!" I exclaimed, answering the call and putting it on speaker, before signalling dad to keep quiet, who nodded with a smile.

Gotta do a big reveal, I want to see how Larrk reacts to this...

"Hey, bro, how’s it going? I just saw that I’ve got over two hundred missed calls from you, sorry for worrying you," Came Larrk’s voice sheepishly through the speaker.

"Hey, let me talk to him!" Came Izzy’s voice, sounding eager and impatient.

"Okay, wait, hold on, I’ll put it on sp-...stop pulling on my arm!" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Come on, it’s been way too long since I spoke to him! It wouldn’t have been as long if you’d have just let me bust through the ceiling, you know!"

"Like I’ve been saying constantly, you would’ve brought the entire place crashing down on us!"

"You don’t know that for sure!"

"Yeah, well, excuse me for not wanting to put it to the test!"

"Uh...," I spoke up in bemusement.

"Argent! It’s so good to hear your voice again! I missed you so much!"

"Yeah, I missed you too, Izzy...where were you guys for the last month, anyway?" I inquired curiously.

"We got caught up in a teleportation trap in the Dead Zone and wound up at the bottom of the Labyrinth," Sighed Larrk wearily.

"Wait, what? Are you okay!?" I exclaimed incredulously.

"Mhm, better than okay...guess who just got a second Demonic Grade Contract?" Responded Larrk smugly.

Huh?

"No way...seriously? Another one?"

"Uh-huh, I’ll tell you all about it later. Probably only got a couple of minutes before my battery dies. I’ve also got a great plan that I want to carry out, it’ll be a real game changer. Where are you right now, we’ll fly over right aw-...damn it, Izzy, stop pulling my arm!"

"You’re doing all the talking, let me hold the phone!"

"I’m in Cusch Town right now. Oh, Prysm’s here too, but I kinda lost track of her...eh, I’m sure she’s fine. Oh, and by the way, dad’s awake," I informed him in a casual, nonchalant tone.

"Hey, kiddo...how’s it going?" Grinned dad, as he leaned towards the phone.

"Wha-...holy fucking shit, seriously!?"

"Woah...ahem, watch your language, young man," Frowned dad sternly, before chuckling as he added, "Your voice sounds a lot deeper, I didn’t recognize it. I’m so glad to hear you speak again, Larrk...I missed you. "

"Holy f-...crap, is that really you? Thank fu-...goodness, I was afraid you’d never wake up. And, um...yeah, I...I missed you too dad," He muttered awkwardly, before clearing his throat and adding "Argent, get some booze and weed, we gotta fucking celebrate, man! I’m gonna head over there as fast as I can! We’ll be there ASAP!"
