"I must say, Commander, you’ve done an excellent job over these last few weeks, I’m truly grateful for your efforts. Support from the Commoners has never been higher, it truly feels like our nation is healing and taking steps in the right direction. For all the damage that my idiot brother did with his moronic True Nobility cult, that incident seems to have helped foster a stronger sense of unity between us Nobles and the Commoners.

The effect of having a common enemy isn’t something to be underestimated, so in a way, he did us a favor. Make sure the Knights continue to spare no effort in helping the Commoners rebuild their towns," Remarked King Landis, sipping on a glass of wine.

"Of course, your highness, I already fully intended to do just that. To conclude my report, we’re currently hunting down the remaining stragglers of the True Nobility, it shouldn’t be long before we’ve eliminated all of them," I replied with a bow.

Today’s the 10th of Maius, 2020, a bit over a month has passed since the end of the civil war that former Prince Drakkar ignited.

My Knight Order had been tasked with returning the nation to a state of order and peace, and we’ve been progressing steadily on that front. I’ve been making weekly reports on that progress to King Landis, and-...

Suddenly, the doors of the throne room burst open, one of the Knights barging in with an alarmed look on his face.

"What’s going on?" Frowned King Landis warily.

"Pardon the intrusion, your highness! But we’ve got a situation!" He exclaimed urgently.

"Calm yourself down and explain what’s going on, be as concise as possible," I responded clearly, as I turned around and approached him.

"Y-yes, of course, forgive my lack of composure, Commander. There’s a dire situation unfolding in the west of the capital, I just got a call from one of the Knights stationed in that area. It’s that Monster girl from five years ago, she’s attacking," He informed me with a grimace.

"I...I see. What’s she after? And why now, after all this time?" I frowned in response.

We took down the protective barrier around the capital after the battle against the True Nobility was concluded, since it took a lot of Mana to fuel that barrier...that might’ve been a mistake...

"I don’t know, Commander...all I know is that suddenly showed up and attacked, the Knight who called me urgently requested backup."

"That Monster girl is powerful, it was all I could do to just survive our first battle, even with my Soul Weapon Ascension. But I’ve grown more powerful since then...numbers won’t make a difference against her, I’ll have to go there myself. You stay here and watch over his highness," I decided, before turning to King Landis and adding, "If that’s okay with you, your highness."

"Yes, very well...truth be told, I’d feel a lot safer if you were here to guard me yourself, Commander, but this is a threat that we cannot afford to take lightly. Go eliminate it," He responded without hesitation.

"As you command, my King."

I then made my way out of the throne room, heading out of the castle. I have a Knight with the Teleportation Skill stationed by the castle, I’ll have him teleport me to the area that’s under attack.

Perhaps I should have him bring me Mysst as well, she’s currently in one of the towns, helping with repairs. Her powers may be able to defeat that Monster girl if I fail to do so myself...

Point-of-View: Landis Dianus

"You highness, perhaps we should head to the safe room, along with the Queen and the other members of the Royal family," Suggested the Knight that Commander Aries left behind.

"Hm...yes, I suppose that would be best. Very well, then, I-...," I began, before trailing off as I noticed a strange gleam on the window.

What is that?

"A Slime? Stay behind me, your highness," Frowned the Knight, stepping out in front of me as a mass of sludge oozed into the throne room through the window, along with...hm?

Are those articles of clothing?

As the slimy mass fully entered the throne room, it rose up, taking a humanoid shape within the clothes, before it changed from sludge into a person...

"Who are you!?" Snapped the Knight, charging up a Water Spell as the figure cracked his neck and stretched his arms up with his fingers laced, cracking his fingers as well.

It was a young man, with dark blue hair and a couple of scars on his face.

"Damn, that’s a weird-ass feeling, don’t think I’ll get used to that anytime soon...," He sighed, before turning his gaze towards me and adding, "Ah, you must be-..."

He trailed off as the Knight fired the Spell at him, turning his body across to evade it, the blast of water hitting the window and shattering the glass, before the Knight chanted to manifest his Soul Weapon, a sword, and began to charge at the figure.

The young man swiftly manifested his own Soul Weapon in response, without chanting, swinging his arm across and striking the Knight with the weapon, sending him flying back upon impact and crashing onto the wall several meters behind him, the back of his head thudding against the wall with a firm impact and knocking him out...

"What-...who are you? What do you want?" I inquired with a frown, as the young man turned his attention back to me.

He’s powerful, I can tell.

Does he possess a Contract? No Skill would explain how he turned himself into a mass of sludge, neither would his Soul Weapon, which appears to be a whip. Wait, is he...

"Like I was saying...you must be my Uncle Landis, is that right?" He greeted me with a smile, right as I felt the cold kiss of metal against my neck, as a figure emerged through the wall behind my throne...

"We don’t have time for a family reunion right now. Let’s get straight to the point...take us to the Demon Lucifer and free her. I’m sure you’re well aware of how to release her from the control device, yes?"
