Chapter 263 - Lucifer(Part 2)

"H-holy...," Muttered the Knight with the Teleportation Skill as he teleported me to the area under attack, blazes of blue flames rising up ahead, a sweltering heat around the area as the air around the flames shimmered ominously.
"Get out of here, go to Kaygee Town and bring Captain Jenwell here. I don’t care if she protests, teleport her here by force if necessary," I remarked with a grimace, as I chanted to manifest my Soul Weapon and headed towards the center of the flames.
"Understood, Commander."
As he teleported away, I hurried through the area, avoiding the flames...strange, they are spreading quite quickly, but knowing how potent these flames are, it’s odd that they haven’t spread out across a wider area.
It wasn’t long before the Monster girl came into sight, firing out blasts of flames at nearby buildings while also inhaling some of the flames that were starting to spread, absorbing them back into herself.
And all around her, were the bodies of Knights...but none of them were dead. Some of them were injured, but not fatally so...I’ve seen what she’s capable of, she can turn several bodies into ash with a single attack.
Why...why is she holding back?
"Hm? Oh, hey, I remember you, I fought you a few years ago," She remarked, taking notice of me as I sent a couple of my blades shooting towards her, which she flew up to evade.
"I’m honored...it’s been a while, hasn’t it? What are you doing here?" I inquired warily, as my blades floated back towards me.
"Oh, uh...rampaging. Yup, just going on a mindless rampage like the Monster than I am, nothing strange about that," She replied, her gaze darting about slightly before she unleashed a blast of blue flames at me.
I swiftly formed a wall in front of myself with my six blades, blocking the attack...she should know that an attack of that level is nowhere near enough to get through my defenses, that blast wasn’t even half as powerful as anything she threw at me during our first encounter.
Not to mention, her response to my question was, er...rather suspect. I’m getting a bad feeling about this, what in the world has she come here to accomplish?
"I strongly suggest that you leave, or I’ll have no choice but to kill you," I warned her, getting ready to unleash my Soul Weapon Ascension.
"Hm? Oh, sorry, but that’s not going to be possible. See, last time we fought, I had access to a smaller portion of my full power than I’m currently using. And currently, I’m at ten percent of my full power," She replied with a smug grin.
What? N-no...no, there’s no way that’s true.
"That’s a rather intimidating bluff, but it’s a bluff nonetheless," I shot back, getting a bad feeling about this.
"Huh? No, no, it’s not a bluff. Well, I can’t actually control my full power yet, but I can give you a glimpse of forty percent. Here, let me show you...Unlock Seal: Level 2," She chanted, the black, bone-like layer over her right eye shifting, a burst of purple energy erupting out of it as I felt a chill running down my spine, my blood running cold as I found myself backing away on pure instinct without even realizing it.
My Instinct Skill is blaring like crazy, she, uh...she might not have been bluffing, after all...

"Your highness? What brings you here? And who are these two-...?" Began a guard, before I swiftly turned my right arm into slime and rapidly extended it towards him, enveloping his face and choking him until he lost consciousness.
"Alright, your highness, lead the way," Remarked Argent, giving the King a slight push towards the entrance leading into the underground dungeon.
"What are you after? Is this about Rhyle? Are you here for revenge for what happened to your father? Because that was all Drakkar’s doing, I had nothing to do with-...," He began with a frown.
"Oh, it’s not about that. Quit stalling and taking us down there already," I prompted him.
He paused for a moment, before reluctantly leading us down into the dungeon.
"And besides, we already got our revenge for happened to dad, when I killed our dearly departed Uncle Drakkar myself," Chimed in Argent.
"I see, so he really did die, then. That’s good, I was afraid he might still be alive and preparing for a second attempt to take over the throne," Landis sighed in relief, before adding warily, "If you aren’t here for revenge, then what is it that you’re truly after? I don’t get it...what could you possibly hope to achieve by freeing the Demon Lucifer?"
"There’s no need for you to know that, uncle. But I suppose I can tell you this much...no one needs to die today. Just take us down to where she’s being held, free her and we’ll be right on our way with her without harming so much as a single hair on your head, you’ll probably never see us again after that. And we have absolutely no intention of harming Obsidian either, so yeah," I informed him.
Rhyle said that this guy tends to scheme a lot, and that he’s pretty smart too...this is only a hunch, but I’ve got the feeling that he plans to eventually make a move against Hematite to try and take over it, which is exactly what I’m planning.
I’d rather not give that away, he might try to beat me to it, after all...
