Chapter 271: Chapter 271 - Hematite(Part 1)

Wow...I figured it’d be in a pretty bad state, but this is a lot worse than I was expecting.

Today’s the day, the 17th of Maius, 2020, and I was currently flying above the capital city of Hematite, ready to commence the attack. I was leading a group of fifteen, and as soon as they activate the Magic Item and form the barrier around the city, that’ll be my cue to attack.

I’ll start by attacking the castle to get the attention of the Knights that make up the city’s fighting force and then wipe them out, I’ll let the group I’m leading deal with any others who resist.

Gotta say though...the city’s in quite a desolate state. The buildings were damaged, the streets were littered with garbage, I’ve seen more than a few corpses rotting in alleys and some on the streets too, and there are hardly any people out and about.

Hm...I’m guessing most of their fighting forces are in the other cities, where they’re more likely to encounter the Commoner forces they’re fighting against. Still, I doubt the capital is completely defenseless, considering that the Royal family lives here.

Ah, looks like the barrier is forming...that’s my cue, time to get started. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

I manifested my whip and swung it across towards the top of the castle while rapidly extending it, striking the structure and slicing off a large chunk of it.

I then cracked the whip up with a flick of my wrist and swung it back down, channeling Azazel’s Exploding Fists ability through it.

As it struck the castle again, a fierce explosion burst out as the chunk I’d sliced off earlier slammed onto the ground with a deafening crash, several people in armor emerging from inside the castle, presumably their Knights.

"What the hell just happened!?"

"Are we under attack? Wait, is that a barrier?"

"How the hell did those fucking Commoners get here!? And where are they, anyway, I don’t see them!"

"Hey, up here!" I called down towards them, before unleashing a swirling mass of blue flames down towards them.

They hurriedly scattered out of the way, two of them failing to react in time and getting caught up in the flames, screams of pain ringing out as they got set ablaze and burned to death in a matter of seconds.

I then activated my Magic Eater Skill to swallow up the flames before they could spread out too far, before swinging my whip down towards one of the Knights who’d evaded.

He quickly manifested his Soul Weapon, a spear, and raised it up defensively, crying out in pain as a powerful explosion burst out as my whip struck his spear, sending him flying back with his arms missing, his back slamming onto the wall surrounding the castle.

"Who the hell is that!? Those wings, is it some kind of Monster!?"

"No, that’s definitely a Soul Weapon, so he’s human...shit, he must have a Contract!"

Wow, they’re pretty sharp.

"Quick, go call for back up! We’ll cover you and hold him off!"

"O-okay, got it!"

I’ll let him do just that, it’s exactly what I want, for the majority of the forces in the city to come over here so that I can wipe them out.

I then fired down a powerful bolt of lightning at another of the Knights, severely electrocuting him as I struck his armor with it, an agonized cry of pain ringing out, reverberating through the metal of his armor before he collapsed onto his knees and fell over, smoke billowing out of his armor.

I then proceeded to wipe out the remaining Knights on the ground with ease, blasting them with my Magic and slicing them apart with my whip.

As I finished up with them, several more Knights emerged from the castle, manifesting their Soul Weapons and firing a barrage of Spells up at me.

Hm, not bad...they got here faster than I thought they would.

I then turned my right hand to slime and rapidly expanded it out below me, blocking the incoming Spells before firing out a torrent of acid slime rain down at the Knights, screams and cries of pain ringing out below me as I melted through their armor and corroded their skin.

I then rapidly swooped down, landing down between them and unleashing a burst of lightning around myself, electrocuting some of them while the rest narrowly avoided my attack, as I reverted my slime hand back to normal.

"You bastard!" Yelled one of them, springing up in front of me with a sword raised up high.

I swiftly cracked my whip up towards him with a flick of my wrist, splitting him vertically in half before he could swing his blade down.

Blood gushed out as the two halves of his split fell off to either side, before I spun around and swung my fist out as a Knight leapt up behind him, a fierce explosion bursting out as my fist struck the side of his face, blowing his head clean off his body.

I then swung my whip across while rapidly extending it out, slicing through about a dozen of them and cutting them in half, before I turned my left shoulder into slime and morphed it into the shape of a wall as a blast of wind came shooting out towards me.

I then rapidly extended the mass of slime in the form of a spike towards the Knight who fired the Spell, aiming for the middle of his chest. He sprang off to his right, yelping in pain as I pierced through his left shoulder, before gasping sharply as I branched the slime out inside him, piercing his heart.

Alright, this is going pretty damn well so far...hope things are go just as well for everyone else.
