Chapter 272: Chapter 272 - Hematite(Part 2)

I blocked an incoming blast of flames with a telekinetic wall before raising my hand towards the one who had fired it at me and using my telekinesis to pull him towards me.

He let out a yell as he found himself getting rapidly pulled through the air, before I grabbed hold of his neck as he closed in on me, swiftly tightening my grip and crushing his throat.

Blood gushed out of his mouth, his body going limp as I tossed him away, shaking my hand to get the blood off my fingers.

I glanced around with a sigh as multiple humans then surrounded me and began to fire off Spells at me, before I unleashed a powerful telekinetic shockwave to blow them away, yells of pain ringing out all around me.

Hm...this is turning out to be rather boring, I must say. They’re all just so damn weak.

It’s barely even been ten minutes since I got to this town, and I’ve hardly expended any real effort whatsoever. Hm?

I then turned to my left as a large bolt of lightning came shooting towards me, blocking it with my telekinesis as it closed in on me.

That wasn’t too bad, it was reasonably powerful. Perhaps I can get some sort of entertainment with this one...

"H-how...how the hell is a Demon here!?" He exclaimed as he charged up another Spell.

"Is that really of any particular importance right now? Knowing how I’m here doesn’t change the fact that I am indeed here, you know," I pointed out, before firing out a telekinetic wave at him.

He unleashed an intense burst of flames from him feet to shoot himself up into the air before firing another lightning bolt at me.

I tilted my body across to avoid it, before spreading out my wings and flying up towards him, driving my fist towards him as I closed in.

He was quick to manifest his Soul Weapon, a large hammer, and swung it towards my fist, a loud clang echoing out as my fist slammed onto the hammer.

Human Soul Weapons are quite fascinating, they’re almost completely indestructible despite how fragile their users are. That strike fractured a few bones in my hand, nothing I can’t heal from almost immediately, but still, for a human to injure me at all is fairly impressive.

He swung the hammer across at me again as he began to plummet back down, which I flew across to my right to avoid as I healed my hand.

He then formed an earth projectile, before melting it by wrapping it with intense flames, shaping the molten mass into an arrow and firing it at me, which I blocked with my telekinesis and then shot it straight back to him.

He batted it away with his hammer, before his eyes widened as I swooped down towards him and unleashed a telekinetic blast at his chest, a sharp gasp echoing out from him as he got sent flying back and crashed onto the side of a building.

The front of his armor was badly dented, and as he coughed out blood and shakily got back up onto his feet, he reached up to his shoulders and unlatched the straps, the armor around his torso falling off with a clatter.

"Hm, I was holding back, but still...I’m impressed that you’re still standing after that," I remarked, as he began charging up a lightning blast.

"I...I will kill you, even if I have to die to do so! I’ve protected my people from those filthy Commoners, and I’ll protect them from a damned Monster like you too!" He snapped with a look of determination in his eyes.

"How pitiful you humans truly are, fighting amongst your own species like this...have you realized that we only launched this attack because you fools had already weakened your own nation by fighting your own kind?" I scoffed, losing interest in toying with him.

"H-huh? What...what do you mean ’we’?" He stuttered as his eyes widened in realization.

"Oh, right...yes, your capital and the other towns that you so-called Nobles have under your control are currently being attacked as well. Since you people are so hellbent on destroying your own nation, we shall take it for ourselves and rebuild it anew," I informed him, before zipping forward and driving my fist through the middle of his torso, the lightning he was charging up fading away as he let out an agonized wheeze of pain.

"N-no, that can’t be..."

Interesting, even with a fatal injury inflicted, he’s still thinking about what I just said. How deluded...these humans that call themselves Nobles, they truly believe that they’re in the right for treating those of their own species as inferior over an insignificant, materialistic matter such as wealth and status.

"How foolish...I never thought I’d say this, but I pity your kind, at least the ones who hold these bizarre beliefs. But then, perhaps it’s for the best...there are so many humans in the world, more than any other of the intelligent species. If all humans had been united instead of fighting amongst themselves, all the other species would never have stood a chance of surviving...so, I suppose I’m grateful for your deluded lunacy," I chuckled, as I pulled my arm back out, the man collapsing onto his knees as blood gushed out of the hole in his chest.

Now, then...

I glanced around as a few dozen more humans showed up and began to surround me, manifesting their Soul Weapons and charging up Spells to throw at me.

I guess it’s time to finish things off and wrap this up, I’ll put these poor fools out of their misery...
