Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 312 - Arcadia Championship Clash(Part 2)
Point-of-View: Aries Velenet
———————————————————————————
"They’re so powerful...that Light Elf is incredibly fast and his abilities aren’t to be taken lightly, but he was hardly even a challenge to Larrk Stryker," I remarked warily.
"Indeed...do you think you would be able to defeat that Light Elf in a fight?" King Landis asked me.
That’s a good question...
"I’m really not sure...I might be able to match his speed with my Soul Weapon Ascension unleashed, but based on the dark void that formed over Larrk’s eyes, it seems likely that the Light Elf can control light and blind his opponents. Larrk didn’t seem to be particularly affected by that, but I doubt I can fight effectively under those conditions, I’ve never fought without the use of my sight before, after all," I shook my head in response.
"Hm? Oh, it’s over...ahem, okay, the first match of the Arcadia Championship Clash is over. The winner is Larrk Stryker," Mysst’s voice echoed out over the intercom, as the crowd cheered.
On another note, why in the world did they pick her to be the announcer, of all people? She’s just about the worst person I can think of for a role like that, I don’t think I’ve ever heard her sounding upbeat and enthusiastic, which I feel like is the bare minimum you’d need for a role like this. Hm, and considering how strong she is, I wonder why she isn’t participating in the tournament?
Actually, never mind, I can definitely see her refusing to do so, she hates exerting herself in any way. Not to mention, the power of her Soul Weapon traps her opponents in a separate dimension, so it wouldn’t make for a very entertaining fight to an audience.
"Are all Demi-Humans supposed to be that powerful?" Muttered one of the Nobles we’d brought along with us.
"I don’t know, this is my first time seeing their kind, I had no idea they could get so strong."
"I saw a lot of them when we arrived. If all of them are this powerful, then Arcadia’s fighting forces are even more dangerous than we’d assumed."
"The worst part is that, despite how powerful that Elf was, that half-Royal boy defeated him so effortlessly."
"Even with his Commoner blood mixed in and tainting the Royal blood in him, he’s still unbelievably powerful...just imagine how powerful he’d be if his Royal blood was untainted."
Uh, that’s not how it works...I mean, it’s basic biology. If his father had had a different partner, a different person would’ve been born, he’d have never existed to begin with.
On the bright side, it looks like they’re finally starting to see reason, at least. And from the look of it, the guests from the other nations seem pretty concerned and wary too. It’s only the first match, and just that small glimpse of Arcadia’s manpower was enough to make all these people tense up.
"Okay, time for the second match, between Rosary Farndrey and Dober. Here’s the countdown...ten, nine, eight..."
Hm? She looks familiar, and I feel like I’ve definitely heard her name before too-...my eyes then widened in recognition as it clicked in my head. Yeah, that’s right, she’s a Diamond-ranked Adventurer, if I’m not mistaken.
Her opponent is a young Kanine man, they’ve both taken their places in the arena and look ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice. Let’s see how this goes...

Point-of-View: Rosary Farndrey
———————————————————————————
"Three, two, one...zero."
"Alright, let’s do this, I’m going full force right from the start...Soul Weapon: Venom Claws," I chanted, before continuing as my opponent swiftly shot towards me, "And now to take it to the next level, Soul Weapon Ascension: Venom Armor!"
A burst of energy erupted around me as armor manifested around my entire body, with a row of sharp, curved spikes forming above each forearm as long spikes extended out over both of my elbows.
Four short, pointy blades formed on my feet, both in front of my toes and behind my heels, with straight, narrow spikes over my knees, as two rows of curved spikes formed down my back.
The armor then extended over my face, spreading into my mouth and over my teeth, taking the form of razor sharp fangs over my teeth, my senses heightening sharply as my body felt lighter and more agile.
I swiftly sidestepped as my opponent closed in on me and drove his claws towards my chest, grazing my armor as I got out of the way...Kanines really do have incredible physical abilities, even in my Ascended state his speed isn’t significantly inferior to mine, and his reflexes are sharper.
But Soul Weapons are effectively unbreakable, and with my Soul Weapon Ascension covering my entire body, it’s the ultimate defense...and with the potent paralyzing venom it produces from the numerous sharp points all over it, all I need is to land a single hit to win.
It probably won’t work against the Demons or Larrk, but I’ll worry about that later...for now, I need to focus on the opponent in front of me, I shouldn’t get too ahead of myself when the tournament has only just begun.
As I evaded the thrust of his claws, I rapidly swung my right leg up and whipped my foot towards his stomach, the blade at the front of my foot barreling towards his midsection.
He quickly sprang back right in the nick of time, the tip of the blade coming into contact with his leather armor but he reacted quickly enough that I couldn’t pierce through before he got out of the way.
Kanines are incapable of using Magic, though they do each possess upto three Skills...of course, if they don’t get any useful Skills, there’s nothing they can do about that.
Additionally, they have one more ability, the power to transform into a more beast-like state, and their physical abilities are doubled in that form. But the fact that he hasn’t used it despite me unleashing my Soul Weapon Ascension likely means that he hasn’t achieved that form yet...in which case, I should launch a volley of relentless attacks and overwhelm him.
"Elemental Flame: Mega Fire Spear Barrage!" I chanted, unleashing several large, narrow flaming projectiles and shooting them towards him with immense speed.
His eyes widened in alarm before he raced around the arena and narrowly evaded my attacks, as I shot towards him while his attention was focused on my Spell, before his gaze swiftly darted towards me as I began to close in on him.
I rapidly swiped my claws at his chest as he got within my reach, tearing through the leather armor over that spot as he leapt off to the side just in time to avoid my claws piercing his skin, before I swiftly used Distance Casting and unleashed a Spell behind him, before he could land...
"Elemental Flame: Fire Blast!" I exclaimed, an intense eruption of flames bursting out behind him.
He quickly and sharply twisted his body across in midair, grimacing as my Spell struck the back of his left arm, a stifled hiss of pain ringing out before he used the momentum he’d generated by twisting his body to whip his left foot up towards my chest.
His foot slammed onto the section of the armor over my chest and knocked me slightly off balance, before he swiftly got low as he landed and sprang at me, grabbing my legs and pushing his weight forward as he avoided the spikes over my knees, completely upsetting my balance and bringing me down, my back slamming onto the floor of the arena with a sharp clang as my armor absorbed the impact.
As his gaze then locked onto the gaps in my armor over my eyes and he began to drive his claws down towards those spots, I quickly swung my left arm up towards the side of his neck as fast as I could, before tilting my head down right as my claws reached his neck and pierced into his skin, as his claws simultaneously struck the armor over my forehead before his body sharply stiffened up as my claws injected the paralyzing venom into his bloodstream.
He then fell over and hit the ground with a thud, unable to move a muscle, his body trembling slightly as he strained himself to try and move, before I swung the blade on the front of my right foot towards his head, triggering the barrier as the blade closed in on the side of his head, teleporting him out before it could hit.
"Okay, that’s the second match done. The winner is Rosary Farndrey."
