Chapter 330: Chapter 330 - Arcadia Championship Clash(Part 20)

Point-of-View: Aries Velenet

———————————————————————————

"Hah, these Demons really aren’t all that impressive. That Satan is supposed to be the strongest of them, isn’t he? And yet, he was very nearly defeated by that young man."

"Indeed, he didn’t even have any Contracts. Soul Weapon Ascension with a power boost Skill was all he needed to nearly defeat the most powerful Demon."

No, they don’t get it...it wasn’t that the Demon Lord was weak, it was that Argent Stryker was impossibly strong, even if it was only for a brief time. While it’s true that Limit Breaker is the rarest and most powerful of all the physical boosting Skills, it shouldn’t be this effective.

I thought so during his first match too, it seems like he’s pushed his base physical abilities to their utmost limit, making his Limit Breaker Skill, which is a powerful physical multiplier, that much more effective.

Combined with the additional physical boost that’s provided by Soul Weapon Ascension, his strength and speed reached what should be an impossible level, even if it was only just for a couple of minutes.

If that wasn’t enough, he also has the Intangibility Skill...that Skill is supposed to be extremely difficult to properly control. It’s rare to begin with, and those who do possess it often struggle to use it at its fullest.

But not him, he used it in such as expert, precise manner. I wonder...just how hard did he train to master it to such a high degree?

I then glanced at Larrk Stryker, who’d joined the VIP area after his fight...he had a surprised look in his eyes, it seems even he didn’t know how powerful his brother has become.

Which probably means that Argent Stryker likely only recently achieved Soul Weapon Ascension...that’s a scary thought. If he strengthens his body and grows more accustomed to the power boost of his Soul Weapon Ascension, and then further gets his body used to layering Limit Breaker on top of it, then...he could become effectively unstoppable, even if it is for just a limited time.

This tournament, based on the results so far, most of the people watching would likely come to the conclusion that the Demons aren’t as powerful as they’d thought. But that’s not the case.

The Demons are indeed powerful...which just makes Arcadia that much more of a threat. Because they have several others who can not only put up a fight against the Demons, but even equal or surpass them...

"It’s time for the sixth match of round two, it’s the Fairy Elder Tania vs Rhyle Stryker!"

———————————————————————————

Point-of-View: Rhyle Stryker

———————————————————————————

Argent did amazingly well in his fight...even though he lost, he did far better than anyone in this entire stadium could have possibly expected. As his father, I need to make sure I put up a good fight as well. My opponent is powerful, but that doesn’t mean I should just resign myself to defeat.

"I don’t suppose you’ve got some crazy power you’re keeping hidden too, are you?" Inquired Tania with a wry smile.

"I wish that was the case, but unfortunately, no such luck," I replied with a shake of my head.

"I see...well, that’s certainly a relief," She responded, stretching her arms up.

"Alright, let’s kick off the countdown! Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! THREE! TWO! ONNEEE!!! ZEROOOOOO!!!!!"

"Manifest Soul Weapon: Wings of Liberation!" I exclaimed, before swiftly flying up as Tania unleashed a massive wave of wind-enhanced flames at me, evading her attack before I unleashed a streaky blast of lightning towards her.

She zipped across to evade it before creating chunks of earth and coating them in flames, melting them down before shaping them into narrow, sharp projectiles and sending them shooting up towards me with immense speed.

I flew across the air as fast as I could, ducking and weaving to narrowly evade several of her projectiles, before letting out a stifled gasp of pain as one of her projectiles grazed my left calf, scorching through the fabric over that spot and severely burning my skin.

Damn it, she’s powerful...she’s so fast with her Spellcasting, and she’s skilled at combining different elements too. And to make matters worse, since she’s so small, she’s far from the easiest target to hit. It doesn’t help that she’s quick to react to my attacks too.

Fairies have a lot more Mana than humans do, I don’t stand a chance against her in a battle of attrition. Which means, my best option is to just keep attacking with everything I’ve got!

I then shot towards her as I fired off a barrage of fireballs, which she was quick to zag about and evade, before firing a piercing beam of wind at me.

I shot up to evade it before unleashing more flames at her, firing out a wide, massive wave of blazing fire in her direction.

She swiftly formed a wall of earth in front of herself, my flames colliding against her shield as the air within the barrier surrounding the arena began to heat up, my vision blurring.

Huh? What’s...what’s going on?

I know fire eats up air and can make it difficult to breathe, but compared to the Plasma Dragon King and Izzy, I really haven’t unleashed that many flames. And yet I feel strangely light-headed, my movements are starting to feel sluggish, I-...I then shook my head and snapped out of it as my concentration wavered, looking around frantically.

Where is she? Her earth wall has melted down in a goopy puddle, but there’s no sign of here, where did she-...?

"Sorry, but it’s too late," Suddenly came her voice from below my left ear, before adding as I felt a small touch on the left side of my neck, "Initiate Skill: Enchantment - Paralysis."

I began to try and swat her off, but my movements were too sluggish and I was slow to react, my body sharply freezing up before I fell over and collapsed on the floor of the arena.

"D-damn it...," I muttered through gritted teeth, trying desperately to move, but to no avail.

"I used an Enchantment on the air to make it toxin, while also enchanting myself to be unaffected by it. It’s not easy placing an Enchantment on something as vast as air though, it doesn’t last very long, and it’s pretty ineffective in open, windy areas. This barrier actually helps make it more effective, since the air within the barrier stays in. Anyway, looks like I win," She remarked, taking aim before firing out a beam of plasma towards the middle of my forehead, right before the barrier triggered and teleported me out.

Damn it...this is so frustrating, I couldn’t even land a single hit on her. At the very least, I should have put up a better fight...

"That’s match number six of round two done and dusted, the winner is...the Fairy Elder Tania!"
