Chapter 331: Chapter 331 - Arcadia Championship Clash(Part 21)

"It’s time for the seventh and penultimate match of round two, it’s the Plasma Dragon King Frielektra vs Lumena Lucidus!"

Just my luck, getting matched up against one of the most powerful individuals in the competition in the second round...I wish I’d gotten easier opponents at least until the next round.

"I observed your previous battle, your abilities seem quite unique and difficult to deal with. I hope you can provide me with some degree of entertainment here," She remarked as I stepped onto the arena, the barrier forming.

"Well, I guess I’ll try my best, at least. No sense in dying wondering, so to speak, I suppose...so I’ll give it everything I’ve got," I replied with a wry smile.

"Okay, let’s kick things off, here’s the countdown! Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! THREE! TWO! ONE!!! ZEROOOOO!!!!!"

The instant the countdown ended, I swiftly flew up as Frielektra unleashed a blast of flames towards me, before I combined wind and fire to unleash a swirling, roaring wave of flames as she fired off another powerful blast at me, our attacks canceling each other out.

That Fairy’s Spellcasting was on another level, my combo Spells are nowhere near as powerful...but that said, I was hoping that that last attack would have had more of an impact.

But even with enhancement from wind, my flames were just barely powerful enough to match a basic flame attack from Frielektra, she isn’t even using her Dragon Fire yet.

"Manifest Soul Weapon: Bong of Smoke!" I swiftly chanted, as a large transparent bong manifested on my back, a pipe extending out of the top and coiling around my right arm, the spout strapping itself around my forearm as I moved it up towards my lips and sharply pulled on it, inhaling the smoke as Frielektra began to fly up towards me.

I then moved the pipe away from my mouth and fired out a massive cloud of smoke down towards her as she started to charge up flames in her mouth, the smoke rapidly engulfing her as I quickly flew further up, right as the smoke ignited and a powerful explosion erupted, sending Frielektra plummeting down at a rapid speed and crashing onto the floor with a thudding impact, cracks spreading out across the arena.

That was explosive smoke, and as the name suggests, it triggers a powerful explosion when exposed to flames or even just small sparks...but it doesn’t look like it did much damage.

The heat from the explosion had zero effect on her, and the force of the explosion wasn’t powerful enough to inflict any real physical damage.

But I’ve still got a few tricks up my sleeve! 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

As she got back onto her feet and dusted herself off, her eyes widened in surprise as I then casted a Black Hole Spell above her, a look of alarm appearing on her face as she began to get lifted off the floor before quickly driving the claws on her feet into the tiles, locking herself down.

Crap...this is as close as I can cast it towards her with my Distance Casting, while also maintaining enough distance that I don’t get pulled into the Spell too. With my Wind Magic, I can counteract the pulling force of the Black Hole Spell by firing off a steady stream of wind in the opposite direction of the pulling force, but only upto a certain range...if I get any closer than this, my Wind Magic won’t be enough to counter the pulling force of the Spell.

I then grimaced as bursts of blue flames erupted out, spreading across the arena rapidly...this is bad, she’s trying to force me into undoing the Spell, I definitely won’t be able to maintain it if her flames reach me, I’ll be forced to switch to focusing on evasion.

My Black Hole Spell is absorbing a portion of the flames, but they’re spreading faster than it can consume them...

"Soul Weapon Ascension: Queen of the Clouds!" I exclaimed as the flames engulfed the floor of the arena and began to rise, the bong on my back and the pipe disappearing as pipes extended out of both my palms, my tongue turning into a pipe as well.

I unleashed bursts of hallucinatory smoke from all three pipes as I turned my body to smoke as well, just in times as the flames roared up towards me and Frielektra flew up with immense speed.

She intensified the flapping of her wings as she began to close in, boosting her speed and also blowing away the smoke I’d unleashed.

"How fascinating...the smoke that is your body, it still has a human scent, and it isn’t as easily blown away as the smoke you produce," She remarked as she slashed at me, but since my body was smoke, her attack had no effect, as she added, "It seems like I cannot hurt you in this state, and my flames have no effect either. Soul Weapons are the only objects that my Dragon Fire cannot burn, it seems you’ve become one with your Soul Weapon in this state of smoke, making you impervious to my flames."

Yeah, that’s right...there isn’t any kind of physical attack that can hurt me in this form, though I don’t know about whether I’m one with my Soul Weapon or whatever. I also wasn’t aware of the scent thing until just now, that’s unfortunate, but there’s nothing I can do about it, so there’s no point in complaining about it.

Despite that shortcoming, I’m still untouchable in this state, the Black Hole Spell might be just about the only thing that can affect me right now, and obviously, that’s not a Spell that she can cast.

I then flew over towards her, but she was quick to get some distance away, unleashing powerful gusts of wind from her wings to keep me at bay...while it is true that the smoke I transform into isn’t blown away as easily as any regular smoke, I still have trouble moving freely against strong winds.

In that case...

I then solidified the pipes on my palms and my tongue, being careful not to materialize my body at all since the flames would burn me to ash instantly, unleashed another, larger burst of hallucinatory smoke all around the space to hide myself.

As the smoke I’d unleashed engulfed her and began to fill the smoke, I began to flow towards her again, but she was quick to back away, blowing away the smoke around her with her wings.

"It’s no use...like I said, the smoke that is you still has a human scent, it is a simple matter to keep track of your position and movements," She called out, as her flames continued to spread, the floor of the arena melted down to a goopy, searing puddle yet again.

Damn it, I’m out of options...I do have the Total Nullification Field Skill, but her flames won’t be affected by that, it only blocks the use of Spells and Skills, her flames are physical abilities.

What’s more, I’m running out of time...I can usually maintain my Soul Weapon Ascension for a fairly long time, but turning my body to smoke takes a lot of Mana, and I’ve never maintained it continuously for this long, it’s guzzling through my Mana reserves at an alarming speed.

I’ve probably got less than a minute left before I run out of Mana...and the instant I return to my normal state and exposed to her Dragon Fire, I’ll get teleported out instantly.

"I...I surrender," I called out with a defeated sigh, triggering the barrier as I began to revert to my physical state.

Frielektra began reabsorbing her flames as she spotted me outside the arena, as I flopped onto the ground and stared up at the sky.

"And the winner of match number seven of round two is...the Plasma Dragon King Frielektra!"
