Chapter 332: Chapter 332 - Arcadia Championship Clash(Part 22)

"Time to ramp things up, this next fight should conclude the second round with a bang, and serve as a prelude to what’s to come in the next round! It’s a battle between two Demons, Lucifer and Pavorphobus!"

Cheers erupted across the stadium as Vorph and I stepped onto the arena, the barrier forming around us as we took our places and waited for the match to begin.

"This is still hard to wrap my head around, the fact that all these humans are cheering for us like this, with no real animosity, it’s so strange," She remarked with a bemused look on her face.

"Yes, now that you mention it, it is certainly something that I’d never have dreamed of experiencing not so long ago. That’s all well and good, but more importantly, it’s been quite some time since you and I last sparred...I’m quite looking forward to this," I replied with a smile, a sense of anticipation welling up inside me.

"Oh, the feeling is quite mutual, I’ve been looking forward to this, you better not hold back," She smirked with a gleam in her eyes.

Honestly, she’s a pretty bad match up for me. While her special abilities, which are all related to mind control, aren’t very effective against fellow Demons, her use of Negative Energy is superior to even that of my father.

However, I relish the challenge, she does have a winning record against me in sparring battles, but it’s not overwhelming, I’ve defeated her a few times. It’s been quite a while since we last sparred, let’s see how it goes...

"Here’s the countdown! Ten! Nine! Eight!"

Here we go, it’s almost time...

"Three! TWO! ONE!!! ZEROOO!!!"

I swiftly fired off a piercing beam of Negative Energy as the countdown ended, which Vorph zipped across to evade, before firing out rapid blasts of Negative Energy at me.

I then teleported behind her to evade the blasts and activated my Gravity Field, her knees buckling under the pressure as I slashed my claws at the back of her neck, before abruptly halting and springing back as she fired out a piercing burst of Negative Energy at me from her back.

I pulled back just in the nick of time, the beam slicing off my claws as I charged up a Negative Energy blast in my mouth and fired it out at her.

She swiftly canceled it out with an equally powerful blast and unleashed a slashing wave of Negative Energy towards me.

I flew up to evade it before raising my right palm towards her and using my Attract ability before she could get out of the line of my aim, pulling her off the floor and up towards me rapidly, before swiftly switching from Attract to Repel, her body abruptly halting in midair before getting sent hurtling back down towards the arena.

I teleported down below her as she began to close in on the floor of the arena, as she unleashed a powerful flap of her wings to try and cancel out the momentum I’d exerted on her body, before I swiftly activated Attract again to pull her down.

I zipped up as she closed in on me, coating my claws in Negative Energy and slashing at her back as she got within my reach. She sharply twisted her body across to spin around, shooting out an intense burst of Negative Energy towards me as my claws slashed across her left side, before I grimaced in pain as her attack blasted off a chunk of the flesh over my right shoulder.

I teleported away as she fired a piercing beam of Negative Energy at my neck, reappearing a few meters away as my shoulder regenerated, as did the gash on her side that I’d inflicted.

I then unleashed a barrage of piercing Negative Energy beams towards her, which she evaded by quickly flying up and zipping across the air, ducking and weaving rapidly as I chased after her with my beams, before I teleported a few meters across the arena and fired off more beams, catching her slightly off guard by the sudden change in direction from which my beams were coming from, one of them grazing the top of her left shoulder before she evaded and canceled out the rest with her own Negative Energy beams.

I teleported again, to a different spot in the arena and fired off a couple more beams, before teleporting again and doing the same, repeating the cycle over and over, managing to graze her a few more times.

Her eyes then widened in alarm as I teleported right in front of her, as she abruptly halted and began to charge up and take aim at me with a blast of Negative Energy, I swiftly teleported behind her and fired out a piercing beam at the left side of her upper back, aiming for her heart.

She quickly twisted his body across the instant I vanished from his sight, my beam shooting through the right side of her chest, before she reached out and grabbed my right forearm in the same, fluid motion she’d used to twist around, tightening her grip around my forearm as she opened her mouth a charged up a blast of Negative Energy, aiming for my head as she dug her claws into my forearm, making sure I couldn’t get out of her grasp.

I reacted as fast as I could, extending out the claws on my left hand and whipping it up, slicing off my right arm at just below the elbow and teleporting right as she fired out the charged up Negative Energy in the form of dozens of small, rapid needles, trickles of blood running down my face as a few of the needles piercing into my face before I teleported and reappeared several meters away, letting out a slow exhale to compose myself as I healed, my forearm growing back rapidly.

She shot towards me as I regenerated, before halting and spinning around as I teleported behind her as she began to close in, whipping around and slashing at my throat with her claws as I fired a beam at her head.

My beam grazed her right cheek as she sharply tilted her head across, while her claws grazed the front of my neck as I arched my upper body back before teleporting to her right as a powerful blast of Negative Energy shot towards me, firing out a slashing wave of Negative Energy at her as I reappeared.

Despite the near point blank range, she managed to react in time and cancel out my attack with a similar one, before I teleported behind her again and used Repel to push her off balance, before I teleported to her left and drove my claws towards her side, piercing in and drilling towards her heart before she rapidly snapped off my forearm with a slashing wave of Negative Energy, as I teleported in front of her before she could launch another attack at me.

I swung my right arm across before it could fully regenerate, splattering my blood onto her eyes and blinding her before I fired a Negative Energy beam towards her heart.

She quickly and instinctively raised her left hand while turning her body across, my beam slowing down as it hit her palm and pierced through, buying herself just enough time to turn her body enough so that my beam would miss her heart, just barely, as she swiped the back of her right hand across her eyes to wipe the blood off.

I teleported the instant she opened his eyes, and anticipating my movements, she began to turn around, before freezing as I reappeared in almost the exact same spot, with her back now turned to me.

Her eyes widened in alarm and realization, as I quickly and briefly used Attract before she could regain her bearings, pulling her off balance before I drove my claws towards her throat, while she rushedly formed blades of Negative Energy with both hands and swung them in towards me, converging in on either side of my head as my claws pierced the skin on her neck, her blades starting to pierce the skin on either side of my face as I drove my arm forward with all the force and speed I could muster.

Suddenly, she vanished from sight, deep cutd across the sides of my face as her blades had dug in deep before she vanished...or wait, was I the one who vanished?

I looked around, before letting out a sigh of relief as I saw that I was still in the arena, and then spotted Vorph, just outside the arena with trickles of blood running down the side of her neck and a frustrated look on her face.

"Wow, what a match, I could barely even follow their movements, talk about intense! After a close, close final exchange of blows, the winner, by a fraction of a second, is...Lucifer!"
