Chapter 344: Chapter 344 - The Wind Dragon King(Part 1)

"Are you sure you know where you’re going?" I inquired with a frown.

"Yes, I am...I’m pretty sure this is the right way. I think," Replied Liquaqua with a nod.

"That doesn’t sound particularly encouraging..."

Nearly a month had passed since the Arcadia Championship Clash, it was the 18th of Maius, 2021.

Before I joined Arcadia, I never bothered to keep track of which day, month or year it was, I never really had the need to...but I must say, keeping track of time like this is quite convenient, especially with those calender things. Human inventions are so useful.

"By the way, um...why am I here?" Inquired Izzy in bemusement, flying behind us.

"Well, Satan said I should spend more time with you, so I thought I’d ask you to join me today," I replied, as we soared above the clouds.

"I see...I don’t think this is what he meant, though. Well, it’s fine, it’s not like I had anything to do today," She shrugged in response.

"Okay, I think this is it, she should be somewhere in those mountains," Remarked Liquaqua, as a large mountain range came into sight.

We were currently resuming our search for our fellow Dragon Kings, in an effort to recruit them into Arcadia. A few days ago, Liquaqua came across one of them, the Wind Dragon King Aereeze.

But she’d been unable to convince her to join us, since Aereeze had a strong aversion to humans and refused to ally herself with them...so, we decided that I should go to convince her too.

Larrk had offered to come with us, but I determined that having a human with us would put Aereeze on edge, so I told him that I’d try to convince her myself first. I must admit, I’ve grown quite attached to Arcadia, even though it hasn’t been very long since I joined them. Finding and recruiting the other Dragon Kings will make the nation stronger and safer against external threats, so I’ll do what I can to make sure that happens.

Unfortunately, Liquaqua couldn’t remember the exact place where she found Aereeze, only that it was a mountain range in the Light Continent...we’d already stopped by three other mountain ranges, and there was no sign of her in any of them. This one, though...

"Hm, this familiar scent...no doubt about it, it’s Aereeze’s scent," I remarked as we landed on the peak of one of the mountains and looked around.

"Yeah, and the scent is still fresh, so it seems like-...," Began Liquaqua, before trailing off as footsteps echoed out from behind us.

"I see you’re back, Liquaqua...and long time no see, Frielektra," Came a familiar voice.

I turned around, to see her emerge from a cave in her Dragonoid form. She had a slender figure with sleek wings on her back, her body covered in green scales, with translucent, long light green hair and green eyes.

"Yes, it has been quite a while since we last saw each other, it’s good to see that you’re doing well. I’ll get straight to the point, we’re here to once again ask you to join the nation we’ve allied ourselves with. As I’m sure Liquaqua would have told you, the Demons have also allied with this nation, and-...," I began.

"Huh? No, she didn’t tell me that. Actually, I didn’t even know that you were involved till just now," She responded in surprise.

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah, she just showed up here and asked me if I wanted to ally myself with a human nation...I said no, of course, and then she left."

"...are you serious?" I sighed in exasperation as I glanced at Liquaqua.

"Hm? What?" She replied with an oblivious smile.

"You’re such a-...ugh, never mind."

"Hold on, you mentioned the Demons, I thought they were driven to extinction?" Frowned Aereeze in bewilderment, before adding as she glanced at Izzy, "Also, who’s this? Her scent is somewhat similar to ours, but..."

"Oh, she is my offspring-...or rather, my daughter, I believe the correct term is. She is also a Half-Demon, she has both my blood and the blood of the Demon Lord Satan running through her veins."

"Huh? But how-...ah, I think I understand, she is a product of sexual reproduction, unlike the Dragons and Dragonoids we produce asexually," Surmised Aereeze in fascination.

"Yes, that’s right. Now, then, let me fill you in on all the details that Liquaqua failed to inform you of," I remarked, briefly narrowing my gaze at Liquaqua, before explaining the situation in full to Aereeze, how Arcadia wasn’t really a human nation, rather a nation with a mix of a wide variety of races and species, including of course, the Demons.

"How intriguing...I never thought there would be humans who would willingly coexist with us so-called Monsters. And after what the Demons went through at the hands of humans, it would take some rather unusual humans to be able to convince them to join forces. I had been intending on moving to a new location anyway, so this is rather convenient timing...I’ll reserve my judgment until I see this Arcadia place for myself, and only then decide whether I’ll join or not," She replied after mulling it over.

"Yes, that’s perfectly reasonable," I nodded in response.

"Wait, that’s it?" Spoke up Izzy in disappointment, before continuing, "You’re not going to demand that one of us spar against you first or something?"

"Huh? Why would I do that?" Responded Aereeze in bemusement.

"Well, I just assumed you would because that’s exactly what my mother and Liquaqua did."

"Oh, I see...hm, I suppose I could. And it seems evident that you were hoping for it...I can’t deny that I am curious about you, being a half-breed of two of the most powerful beings in existence. Very well, then, I shall spar against you, child of Frielektra and Satan," Nodded Aereeze with a smile.

"Great! I haven’t had a good fight in a while and I didn’t get to have as much fun as I wanted in the tournament, so this should be a fitting way to make up for that!" Grinned Izzy with an excited gleam in her eyes...
