"Alright, guys, this is it...the Vampires are likely to make their move anyday now, so make sure to prepare yourselves both mentally and physically, we may need to fight at a moment’s notice," I remarked, as I looked around at the others.

Today’s the 2nd of Quintilis, 2021, around midday. And earlier this morning, we received reports from the other nations that their scouts in the Dead Zone had noticed movement in the Light Continent, seems like the Vampires are finally gearing up to make their move.

Of course, since it’s too dangerous to enter the Light Continent, the scouts weren’t able to get too close, so we didn’t have any specific details. That said, we’re as best prepared as we can be, so now that’s left to do is to wait for their attack. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

It’s just too risky to make the first move ourselves, since we don’t have enough information about the enemy to go off of, so we don’t have much of a choice but to wait for them to make the first move.

"Have the countermeasures against their moonlight barrier been completed?" Inquired Satan with a frown.

"It’s hard to say, honestly...I did manage to create a Magic Item that casts a barrier which replicates moonlight, but I have no way of knowing if my creation is the exact same as the one the Vampires have. So, while I did create a Magic Item that negates it, I can’t guarantee that it’ll negate the Vampires’ moonlight barrier Item," Remarked Lumena with a sigh.

She’s been working really hard on that, I hope her efforts end up paying off.

"Aren’t there negation or nullification Magic Items, ones that cancel out the effects of other Magic Items?" Chimed in Gior.

"Yes, there are, but it’s not all that difficult to account for that. It’s fairly simple to program a Magic Item to be resistant to a nullifying Magic Item. At least as far as general nullification is concerned anyway...that’s why I was working on a nullification Item that specifically targets the moonlight barrier. However, if the Vampires’ moonlight barrier Item is more complex that I’ve anticipated, then my counter Item won’t work," Explained Lumena with a grimace.

"Well, considering that you haven’t seen the Vampires’ Magic Item, the fact that you were able to create even a potential countermeasure is impressive," Chimed in Lucifer.

"Thanks."

"Hm...we should go in with the assumption that it won’t work, just to be safe. If we expect it to work and then it doesn’t, it’ll have a negative effect on our mental state. But if we don’t expect it to work and then it does, it’ll feel like a nice bonus. And even if it doesn’t work, we’ll at least be mentally prepared for that," I surmised objectively.

"Yes, I believe that is quite a prudent way of looking at it," Nodded Satan in agreement.

"Right...now, then, about the Elder Vampires. We have no idea how many of them there are or what Unique Abilities they each possess. That said, we do have information on three of them, at least," I remarked, before glancing at Terrastra, who nodded and cleared her throat...

"The two I fought, Jagger and Jevera, both have powerful Unique Abilities. I believe that Jevera’s Unique Ability is called Explosion, and it is quite self-explanatory. She is able to cast powerful, destructive explosions...of all the Elder Vampires, she has the greatest potential to inflict widespread destruction, she is certainly the most dangerous at long-range combat. But Jagger’s Unique Ability is arguably even more dangerous...he calls it Senescence, anything he touches ages and decays rapidly," She informed us.

"Hm...in that case, it sounds like either the Demons or myself would be the best match-up against him, since we can regenerate," I mused thoughtfully.

"Yes, unless he manages to inflict that effect directly onto our cores, we can regenerate without a problem," Nodded Lucifer in response.

"If I have to fight, I’d prefer to fight anyone but him. His attacks are really painful, the feeling of your flesh rotting away is excruciating," Chimed in Aratron with a shudder.

"Yeah, I’d imagine so. It’s too bad we don’t know who the other remaining Elder Vampires are," I sighed wistfully.

"If nothing else, we can be certain that the strongest of the Elder Vampires, the Vampire King Dracula, is among them," Remarked Aereeze warily.

"And what’s his Unique Ability?" Inquired Argent in response.

"He calls it Absolute Command, his power lies in his words...he could kill dozens of humans in an instant by simply uttering the word ’die’. However, that power is less effective the greater the individuals energy is...as far as humans go, that would be Mana capacity, and Negative Energy for us Demons. However, even the natural upper limit of human Mana capacity isn’t enough. Ordinarily, it would be suicidal for humans to even be in his vicinity, but since you possess two Contract, Larrk, you may well be the only human capable of fighting him," Said Satan as he glanced at me.

"That’s a pretty terrifying power, alright...and the more imaginative and creative he is, the stronger it’ll be. Well, at least we know what to expect. Are there any others we should be wary of?" I asked him.

"Well, all the Elder Vampires I’ve encountered are forces to be reckoned with...unfortunately, I do not know what all of their Unique Abilities are, either because I’ve never seen them or because it was unclear what exactly the ability was. That said, there is one other Elder Vampire with a notably dangerous Unique Ability...the Elder Vampire Caera, she has the ability to create clones of herself, all just as powerful as she is. If she is still around, I would say that she is the greatest threat after Dracula himself," Stated Satan grimly...
