Chapter 376: Chapter 376 - Vampire Attack(Part 2)

Point-of-View: Sirius

"Hahahaha! Come on, you can run faster than that, can’t you? Better pick up the pace, humans, I’m catching up!" I called out in amusement, as I chased after a group of seven humans.

I was moving at a deliberately slow speed, to give them the false notion and hope that they actually stand a chance of escaping me. I find that despair is at its greatest when hope is first built up before then being destroyed.

Now, then, let’s put a few cracks in their growing sense of hope...I then took aim at one of them, firing out a piercing beam of blood, hitting the back of their head and bursting through, killing them instantly, the other humans in the group screaming in horror as the one I’d killed collapsed onto the ground with a thud, blood pouring out of his head.

"T-take this, Elemental Flame: Fire Arrow!" Exclaimed one of the humans, as she glanced back and raised her arm towards me, firing out a paltry projectile of flames.

I scoffed and whipped my arm across as it closed in on me, my claws slicing through it and dissipating the flames, before I swiftly extended out a tendril of blood from my hand and sent it shooting towards the human who’d fired the attack.

She screamed in terror as my tendril shot down rapidly and wrapped around her neck, before I swiftly retracted the tendril to yank her off the ground and pull her up towards me, a choked gasp echoing out.

I reached out and grabbed the top of her head with my right hand as she closed in on me, before I whipped the claws on my left hand across as she began to charge up a ball of flames in her hand, my claws slicing through her bicep and severing her arm, eliciting an agonized cry of pain from her as the flames dissipated, a spray of blood bursting out of the stump that was left of her arm.

"Well, now, aren’t you a bold human? To think that one of your kind would deign to attack a superior being like me...you should know your place," I whispered into her ear with a smirk, before she screamed excruciatingly as I began to tighten my grip on the top of her head.

Her legs began flailing as she thrashed and writhed desperately in an attempt to break free of my grasp, but to no avail, a cracking sound echoing out as I cracked her skull, before a loud, squelching crunch rang out as I crushed the top of her head, her body going limp as blood burst out and ran down her torso.

I then lifted her up and tilted her crushed head down, pouring her blood into my mouth before tossing the corpse away with disdain as I spat the blood out...disgusting, what pitifully low quality blood.

"Hurry, this is our chance!"

"We need to get away from him!"

Hm? What, just because I came to a momentary halt, they think they have a chance to lose me?

If they had any semblance of intelligence, they’d split up and scatter...that way, one or two of them might actually be able to escape me. But they won’t do that...they’re such weak creatures, the idea of running off alone in their current situation is likely a terrifying notion to them.

Strength in numbers, I believe the saying goes...but that hardly matters. Whether it’s one ant alone or a hundred ants gathered together, it makes no difference...an ant is an ant, easily crushed underfoot.

I then shot towards them at full speed through the air, zipping forward rapidly and overtaking them in a matter of seconds, before swooping down and landing in front of them, immense terror in their eyes as I met their gaze with a malicious smile.

"Haven’t you figured it out yet? There is no escaping me, you simple fools. It has barely been fifteen minutes since I arrived in this city and I’ve already wiped out dozens of your so-called Knights, so what hope do you have?" I inquired with a chuckle, before I shot towards them and drove both my arms forward, my claws plunging into the chests of two of the humans.

They yelled out in agony as my arms tore through their bodies and burst out their backs, before I pulled my arms back out with sharp twists, blood gushing out of the large holes through the middle of their chests as they collapsed onto their knees and fell over.

Of the three remaining humans, one was frozen in fear, while the other two desperately raced away in either direction, heading towards nearby alleys, before I shot towards the one who hadn’t run away and whipped my arm across, my claws slicing through his neck and lopping his head off, blood pouring out of the stump left around his neck as he fell back and hit the ground with a thud.

I then sent a blood tendril shooting out towards the one who’d run away to the left, before I swiftly chased after the one who went right as the tendril grabbed the human’s ankle, a startled cry ringing out as I pulled her off balance.

She fell facefirst onto the ground with a thud before trying to scramble away in a panicked rush, letting out an anguished scream as I rapidly pulled her towards me along the ground, right as I caught up to the other human and grabbed their arm, pulling him off his feet as he let out a yell, before swinging him across with immense force and slamming his body onto the side of a nearby building with a devastating impact, blood smearing across the wall as the back of his head split open upon impact, killing him instantly.

I then tossed him away and pulled up the human woman I’d grabbed with my blood tendril, taking hold of her hair and lifting her off the ground, inspecting her closely.

"Hm...you appear to be fairly young, and quite attractive too. Rejoice, for I will not kill you...no, instead, I shall take you back to our livestock farms as breeding stock," I informed her with a cold smirk as her face turned pale, tears welling up in her eyes.

"N-no, please...," She whimpered as she trembled in fear.

"Huh? What was that? Did a lowly human just dare to tell me what to do? Very well, then. If you want to die that badly, then I’d be happy to oblige-...!" I began as I extended out my claws, before trailing off as a flash of blue erupted in my left peripheral.

I quickly began to turn my gaze that way, before a blast of energy struck the left side of my face, my head jerking across to the right as it vaporized the skin and flesh around that spot, wisps of smoke billowing out as my exposed flesh crackled slightly, right as a piercing beam of energy struck my wrist and drilled through, my grip on the human’s hair loosening before I lost my grasp over her as thin trails of blood ran down either side of my wrist.

She quickly scrambled back as she got out of my grasp, getting some distance away as I regenerated and turned my gaze in the direction the attacks had come from.

"Who the hell are you...!?" I growled venomously, narrowing my eyes at a green-haired figure hovering up in the air to my left.

A human? What is that armor? A Soul Weapon Ascension?

"Get out of here, quickly!" He called out to the woman, who hurriedly got back onto her feet and ran away.

"I don’t think so!" I snapped as I began to take aim at her, before springing back as the human fired another blast at me, which hit the ground with a sharp flash, bits of dirt flying out upon impact.

"Why don’t you try taking on someone who can actually fight back, you coward?"

"What did you just say? Are you implying that you, a human, actually stands a chance of fighting me? Don’t make me laugh!" I snapped, as I spread out my wings and shot up into the air, zipping towards him with immense speed, before stiffening as I spotted a rapid blur barreling towards me from my right.

"Oh, I remember you...you’re Sirius, aren’t you?" Came a familiar voice, as I felt a palm planting against my side.

"You...! I’ll kill you, LUCIF-...!!!" I began furiously.

"Repel," She smirked as she met my gaze, before a powerful pushing force erupted from her palm, sending me hurtling across to my left before the side of my body slammed onto the side of a nearby building with a deafening crash...
