Chapter 390: Chapter 390 - Vampire Attack(Part 16)

Come on, just a little longer...just hold on a little longer! I’m...I’m almost done here, it should only be a moment or two before I’m able to destroy this barrier!

Damn it, whoever made this Magic Item must be extremely skilled...I’ve never come across such complex Magic formulation with my Magic Reader Skill.

I need to assess and understand every element of the formulation, that’s the only way I’ll be able to formulate a counter-Enchantment to force it to break apart!

Still, while it is complex, it isn’t convoluted...I need to stay calm and carefully analyze the formulation. I’ve mostly got a decent idea of how it works and functions now, I just need to figure out the remaining elements that make up its formulation and I’ll be ready.

Just a little bit more...almost there...yes! I think I’ve got it now!

I then closed my eyes and focused on my Enchantment Skill, as I pressed my palms against the barrier, starting the process of enchanting it.

Don’t rush it, put it in place methodically, piece by piece...yeah, that’s it, just like that. I’m halfway there, just a little more, keep building on it...I can’t afford to screw this process up, or I’ll have to start all over again.

There! It’s done!

"Now, Initiate Skill: Enchantment - Dismantle!" I exclaimed, layering the Enchantment on top of the barrier’s formulation, right before it shattered and broke apart.

The Elder Vampire came into sight as the barrier unraveled, a look of surprise appearing on her face before she turned her gaze up towards me...right before I froze, my eyes widening in horror.

A few meters to her left, on the ground, was Oberr...his body was covered in blood, laying slumped lifelessly in a wide puddle of blood.

And in the Elder Vampire’s hands, was Arofri’s head, his body sprawled across the ground, with her heel firmly planted on the middle of his chest.

As blood dripped out of his neck, she tossed his severed head away as she fixed her attention onto me, my mind racing as I struggled to come to terms with the sight below me.

N-no, this...this can’t be happening. I...I didn’t even take five minutes to destroy the barrier, she...she managed to kill the both of them within that time?

"My, how impressive...you were able to destroy the barrier in such a short time? You Fairies really are impressive Spellcasters...however, you were still far too slow. But that wasn’t your fault...if only these two had been stronger, your efforts wouldn’t have be in vain," She remarked with a smirk, as she pressed and twisted her heel into Arofri’s chest, a cracking sound echoing out as she slowly splintered and broke his ribs.

"Damn you...!" I snapped as I unleashed a devastating blast of flames enhanced by wind, which roared down with immense, blazing force, the air around it shimmering violently.

She quickly flew up in response, narrowly evading a direct hit as the flames engulfed her legs, everything below her knees getting severely scorched, before the burns rapidly healed as she unleashed a barrage of blood needles towards me from her fingertips.

I flew away as fast as I could, firing off bursts of wind to boost my speed, as well as to shift the trajectory of her projectiles as they closed in on me.

"Hm, this should be fun. Now that you’ve figured out a way to destroy the moonlight barrier, there’s no point in activating it again, you’ll just dispel it, which means I won’t be able to access my full power against you...but, then, I don’t need to. Heh, it’ll be tough to hit such a small target, but from your perspective, even a single direct hit would be enough to completely destroy you," She chuckled malevolently.

I can’t fight her...there’s no way I can defeat her, at least not in a fair fight. I have no choice but to run...I then swiftly burst out a blinding flash of light from my hand before turning around and flying away as fast as I could.

"Hahahaha, nice try, but that won’t be enough to escape me!" She exclaimed as she flew up and unleashed a barrage of piercing blood projectiles.

Hm? Her aim is all over the place...which means, my light flash worked, I’ve temporarily blinded her. But emphasis on temporary...it won’t be long before she recovers.

Even without the moonlight barrier, she’s definitely faster than I am, so I can’t just run away...I need to slow her down and keep her from catching up to me.

I then glanced back, right as her eyelids opened back up again and she came chasing after me, before I swiftly raised a wide, towering wall of earth between us.

I turned back around and zipped forward at top speed as cracks spread out across the earth wall, before a loud crash rang out as she broke through the wall and continued chasing after me.

"It’s futile, you can’t hold me off for much longer, and then I’ll-...hm? What the...? No, impossible...how can this be!?" She suddenly exclaimed in disbelief.

I glanced back in surprise, to see her staring at a Magic Item, with two small lights shining on it...what is that? No, more importantly, she’s taken her attention off me, and I can’t afford not to take advantage of that!

I then fired out a rapid, drilling beam of lightning at her while she was still distracted, her eyes widening slightly before she quickly veered across to her left, grimacing as my beam tore through her right side.

I then unleashed an intense burst of wind at her, knocking her back as she quickly crossed her arms in front of herself defensively, before I continued fleeing as fast as I could...I don’t really have a real plan or anything, so I’ll just keep running until I think of something, or until an opportunity presents itself.

There’s not much else I can in this situation, now that I’m facing her all by myself...
