Chapter 397: Chapter 397 - Vampire Attack(Part 23)

Point-of-View: Rosary Farndrey

———————————————————————————

I raced away as fast as I could before leaping forward as a large chunk of rubble came flying towards me, crashing onto the ground behind me as I narrowly evaded it.

"You’re rather quick on your feet, aren’t you? What a slippery little thing," Smiled the Elder Vampire clone, before picking up another chunk of rubble as if it were weightless and flung it towards me with immense power.

I scrambled back onto my feet and raced away, firing off earth projectiles with as much force as I could generate, but they barely even slowed the incoming chunk of rubble down, pinging off it as it came hurtling towards me rapidly.

I fired off bursts of flames from my heels to launch myself forward as it closed in on me, a deafening crash ringing out behind me as I narrowly avoided it, before stumbling forward as the ground rumbled from the point of impact, upsetting my balance as I landed.

I then fired off a barrage of lightning bolts as the Vampire came charging in towards me, easily evading my attacks before closing in on me and driving the claws on her right hand towards my face.

I quickly tilted my head across to the right, her claws grazing my left cheek and slicing through the middle of my ear, blood pouring out and running down the side of my face before I gritted my teeth and reached out, grabbing her left arm and starting to burst out a blast of lightning from my hand.

Right before I could unleash the Spell, I let out a sharp gasp as she struck my stomach with her knee, coughing out blood as she knocked the wind out of me before I get sent flying back through the air, skidding across the ground painfully before coming to a screeching halt across the dirt. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"It’s quite clear that you are nowhere near strong enough to pose even the slightest threat to me, human. Continuing to fight me will only result in your death...you appear to have a decent amount of Mana, so it would be a waste to kill you. If you surrender yourself to us, I shall spare you, you will be allowed to live out your life in our livestock farms," She offered with a smile, as I took out a Healing Magic Item and used it on myself, the pain across my stomach fading as the cut across my ear closed up.

I’m no threat to her, huh? Yeah...that’s exactly the impression I was hoping to make.

"How generous of you...unfortunately, I’m afraid I’m going to have to decline," I responded, as I swiftly took out a smoke bomb and flung it at the ground, a massive cloud of thick, black smoke erupting and billowing out, obscuring me from her sight.

"Are you running away? That won’t-...hm?"

As soon as the smoke bomb exploded, I activated my Stealth Skill, which suppresses my presence and makes me more difficult to sense and detect, and hid in a nearby alley.

I can’t count on my Skill completely obscuring me from her senses though, so I’ll have to act fast, before she can adjust and locate me.

I then tossed several more smoke bombs out, which exploded and blanketed the surrounding area in a large cloud of black smoke.

"Initate Skill: Area Detect. Now, Soul Weapon Ascension: Venom Armor," I chanted quietly, before swiftly and silently racing across as I zipped out of the alley as the armor of my Soul Weapon Ascension formed around my body, locking onto her position as I entered the smoke cloud and shot towards her from behind, before chanting as I sensed her starting to flying up, "Initiate Skill: Bind!"

I formed six golden chains and sent them shooting out towards her, snaring each of her limbs, the middle of her torso and her neck, a choked gasp ringing out as I then sharply tightened the grips of my chains around her body.

"Th-this won’t hold me for long...," She gasped as she began to try and break free.

Uh...why is she still smiling? Whatever, I suppose it doesn’t really matter, I won’t let that distract me.

"I know...but it doesn’t need to. Now, Initiate Skill: Intoxicate...and Elemental Flame: Mega Fire Blast!" I chanted, combining the Skill with the Spell.

Intoxicate transforms my saliva, giving it a strong, intoxicating effect...it’s a Skill I’ve practically never used in a fight since it isn’t exactly easy to get an opponent to ingest my saliva while in the heat of battle.

But recently, I figured out a way to weaponize it...by combining it with an Elemental Flame Spell, I can vaporize my intoxicating saliva, turning it into a mist!

I then fired out the mist towards her, which burst out of my mouth and billowed out, surrounding her before a dazed groan rang out as she inhaled it...the effects won’t last long thanks to her regeneration, but I’ve got my opening!

With her focus wavering, her struggle against my chains briefly eased up, before I quickly yanked her down towards me and shot forward, leaping up as she closed in on me and driving my right knee up.

The spike over my knee plunged into the middle of her back, before a sharp cracking sound echoed out from inside her body as I punctured her core, a violent shudder erupting across her body, before I formed a blade of earth in my left hand and stabbed it into the middle of her torso, hitting the other end of her core.

I then plummeted down, my back hitting the ground before she landed on top of me. I quickly pushed her off me and got back onto my feet, taking a few steps back as the smoke began to clear.

"I see...you deliberately hid some of your abilities, before combining them to create an opening. It would appear that we’ve underestimated you humans," She remarked with a smile, before falling apart into a puddle of blood and collapsing onto the ground.

I deactivated my Soul Weapon Ascension and Bind Skill, letting out a slow exhale as I felt a sense of relief. I managed to pull it off, somehow...had I failed to properly execute a single one of my moves, I’d probably be dead right now.

Alright, I need to keep moving...there are likely still a large number of the enemy forces in the city, so I can’t ease up. This battle is far from over yet...
