Chapter 62: Chapter 62 - Execution(Part 1)

Holy shit. Those really weren’t empty words, she fully intends to go through with this, doesn’t she? Yeah, she looks completely serious about it.

"I...I beg your pardon? Do you really expect me to lose my life over a lowly Commoner!?" Snapped the female Knight in disbelief.

"I refuse to accept such a thing, you have lost your mind, Commander," Scoffed the other Knight with a shake of his head.

Wow, talk about delusional...well, now, this should be interesting.

"Miss Rosary, do you have a place where the spilling of blood will not be a problem? I would rather not spray this room in blood," Remarked Aries, ignoring them.

"H-huh? Oh, uh...yes, we do, we have a large space in the basement that we use for duels and qualifying exams," Replied Rosary in bemusement.

I don’t blame her, this is a pretty surprising turn of events. It may very well be a first in history when it comes to Nobles, actually holding their own accountable for their actions.

"I would like to request the use of that basement to carry out the executions," Responded Aries without hesitation.

Looks like those two Knights are finally starting to realize that she’s totally serious about this. They must have expected to get away with what they did, maybe a slap on the wrist at most. They likely never imagined she was serious about her promise.

All the Adventurers look pretty shocked at this development too, murmuring and whispering to each other with bewildered looks on their faces. Pretty much no one actually believed that Aries would go through with this, but there’s no doubt about it now...she has no intention of going back on her word.

"H-hey, you can’t be serious with this crap! Are you insane!?" Snapped the male Knight, reaching for his sword as his eyes bulged with desperate rage.

"She definitely is, she’ll bring ruin to the Nobility, we...we have to kill her!" Snapped the female Knight, drawing out her blade.

Why do they even bother with regular swords? If they’re serious about killing their Commander, who’s almost certainly stronger than they are, shouldn’t they go for their Soul Weapons right from the get go?

"You embarrass yourselves, accept your punishments with dignity," Responded Aries in disgust.

"You are a madwoman, you-...!" The male Knight began to exclaim, before abruptly trailing off and collapsing along with the female Knight, the two of them hitting the floor with thuds.

"I hope you’ll excuse me, I thought I’d paralyze them since it was apparent that they had no intention of going down to the basement willingly," Remarked Rosary, who had suddenly moved right behind the two of them.

She had manifested her Soul Weapon, and there were thin trickles of blood dripping down the sides of both the Knights’ necks. She must have nicked them with the claws of her Soul Weapon to paralyze them.

That’s a pretty good weapon, just one hit and your opponent is incapacitated. I should be immune to it though, thanks to my Universal Resistance. At least, I think and hope that I am. Also, when did she get there? She really is very good at sneaking up on people, I’m kinda envious.

"Oh, thank you, this is a big help," Replied Aries gratefully.

She then dragged the two Knights to the basement as Rosary led the way, the remaining two Knights and all the Adventurers, including me of course, all following after them to see the action.

I mean, who in their right mind would ever miss out on seeing this!? As we all headed down their stairs, Aries dragged the two Knights to the middle of the space in the basement, before Rosary walked over and nicked them with her Soul Weapon again to undo the paralysis.

She then slipped away before it wore off, and the instant it did, they sprang onto their feet while yelling furiously, while Aries calmly approached them.

If she’s serious about killing them, she’s gonna have to do it by force, there’s no way in hell that they’ll ever willingly kneel and let her decapitate them or whatever.

"Yield and forfeit your lives. I warned you that this would happen if you disobeyed my orders, didn’t I?" She addressed them, as she drew out her sword.

Seriously, why do they have swords when they can use their Soul Weapons instead!?

"And why the hell should we just submit and let you kill us!?" Shot back the female Knight.

"Because that way, I can make your deaths painless. If you insist on doing this the hard way, so be it...but in that case, I cannot guarantee that you will not suffer before you die," She stated icily, her eyes eerily blank.

They flinched for a moment, before the male Knight stepped forward with a spiteful glare...

"I have heard enough from you...now, Manifest Soul Weapon: Spiral Spear!" He exclaimed, a spear with a spring-like swirly blade at the end.

"I must agree, Manifest Soul Weapon: Fan Blade!" Added the female Knight, as a strange looking weapon formed in her hand.

It had a one meter long handle which she held at the very end, and the other end...had three blades like a ceiling fan, and it looks like there’s a button by where she’s holding the handle. If I had to guess, pressing that button probably spins the blades like, well, a fan.

"Very well, then...Manifest Soul Weapon: Justice Shards," Responded Aries with a sigh, before the two Knights shot towards her, zooming in from either side.

The male Knight spun the handle of his spear in his hands as he drove it in towards her left, before she easily deflected it by hitting the side of his handle with one of her six floating blades and then sending another one flying straight towards his chest.

As he just barely managed to deflect it away from his chest, the blade slicing across the side of his right arm before he sprang back and got some distance away from her, while the female Knight began spinning her fan-like blades and slashed at Aries’ neck from the right.

Aries ducked under it to evade it before slamming her foot onto the Knight’s midsection and sending her stumbling back with a slight gasp, before four of her floating blades surrounded the Knight and then shot in towards her from all four directions simultaneously.

The Knight quickly spun her blades again and swung them across, deflecting two of them, but one gashing her left hip and the other piercing through her right shoulder and bursting out of her back, eliciting a sharp cry of pain from her as blood gushed out of her shoulder and her arm slumped down by her side.

The male Knight had meanwhile circled around behind Aries and was shooting towards her back with his spear poised to strike out in front of him. He managed to deflect two of her floating blades that she’d sent flying towards him from either side, batting one away with his spring-like spear and the other with the end of his handle.

As he leapt at her with a furious roar, driving his spear straight at the back of her neck. She slightly glanced back before her left hand shot out behind her, grabbed the handle just below the twisted blade and then sprang up in a rapid backflip, vaulting herself up and over him.

She landed behind him and nailed his lower back with a swift kick, knocking him down on his face. She then sent one of her floating blades zipping down towards the back of his neck, right as the female Knight sprang out in front of him and knocked the blade away with her fan blade, before slashing at Aries with an enraged snarl.

Aries sprang back to evade it, a small cut appearing on her leather armor across her chest, before the male Knight leapt onto his feet and flung his spear at her like a javelin with a rapid spin.

Two of her blades swiftly flew down in front of her and deflected the spear away, but the force upon impact created a slight shockwave, forcing Aries to take a step back as it upset her balance a bit.

The two Knights had shot forward the moment the guy flung his spear at her, the female Knight leapt towards Aries’ right with her blades rapidly spinning, as the male Knight picked up his spear and sprang towards her right from front, the grip on his handle tightening as he closed in on her.

As he drove his spear towards her head, the female Knight swung her spinning blades at her neck, Aries sprang back in response, just barely evading the attack as cuts appeared on her forehead and the right side of her neck, blood trickling down her face and neck, as her blades surrounded her protectively.

"It would appear that, as things stand now, this could take a while. And I’d prefer to avoid dragging this out...," Sighed Aries, as she wiped away the blood off her face, before adding, "I suppose I have no choice but to use it. You should consider yourselves lucky, only a few other people have seen this so far...now, Soul Weapon Ascension: Justice Shards, Tenfold."
